Hysterical reaction to no news...

Why would any club make a bid if he's not for sale?

Think You need to check your argument.

If you think clubs won't bid for players who aren't for sale, it's hard to explain why there are bids for Southampton players who it was said weeks ago, were not for sale. Like it or not, Martinez has fired a shot across the bows of the predators, which for whatever reason, we have not.

Add some more tobacco to whatever you are smoking, Prof.

Martinez can say what he likes it is fairly meaningless. If someone bids £50m for Barkley, Kenwright will be having a discussion. Everton, like us, are a selling club.

Like it or not, Barkley will be sold if there's a high enough offer. I'm sure the same will go for our star players, though the lengths of their contracts will make the price pretty damn steep (and that applies to Barkley too I believe). But do you really think that if, say, Chelsea are after Ross Barkley, they'll be saying to themselves "Hang on a second, didn't Martinez say he's not for sale at any price? And didn't he even state that it was the club, and not just him, saying this? Tell you what, let's find another player to sign."?

Who are the mugs, the ones who cause hysteria and are set to be proven right or those who continue to deny until there is official news...clinging onto a statement a month ago from Les Reed?

Well, we haven't spent the last couple of weeks wetting ourselves at every report, so I would say you.

If anyone wants to chill out please simply dig out the follow threads:

- Pardew sacked

- Adkins sacked

- Cortese could leave

- Cortese has left

All of which predicted the apocalypse with hysterical reaction after hysterical reaction. We seem to relish a meltdown.

To be fair though for the majority of those we got rid of people on our terms and brought in better. At the time we thought those decisions were cold hearted (adkins) but what was obvious was we had a vision and Cortese knew exactly what needed to be done.

Do you have faith in the current regime to do what he did? Personally I think not. KL is not a football person, she is not a business person. Under her the Mali Group went under. I honestly believe that maybe it is time she sold up. You cannot bluff your way through business in the way she is without it having a serious effect on the company. Sadly this company is our football club.

Wifag, owned by Mali Holdings, definitely went into liquidation. Not sure if the parent company did, but the article below is rather worrying, especially the 'headless chicken' bit:

Nothing specifically about Katrina but as a general observation the best way to destroy a business is to entrust it to your children.

No need for me to do so. I won't be hysterical either way. How about you?

Alpine is absolutely loving this right now, as his snidey little comment to season ticket holders showed earlier.

He moaned like an old slag during the glory years, so this kind of stuff is meat and drink to the lad.

Not really sure why he is coming out with this "I hate us being tinpot" stuff - from January to May last season all we had on here was Alpine lecturing us about how gutless and pathetic Saints (manager: M Pochettino) were and how Wigan were showing us up and had the balls/guts/gumption to stay up while we were definitely, gutlessly going down. Alpine fawning over Wigan, possibly the single most tin pot team ever in the top flight.

And, need we add, his celebration of us winning the Johnstones effing Paint trophy as being part of the "unrivalled success" in our entire history. A literal tin fu cking pot.

As far as commentators go on this forum, there ain't none much more tinpot than our Alpine.

So KL has led pretty much led every one of her Father's companies into liquidation? Jeez! :uhoh:

As per your previous comments on selling up, I think you might be right.

As I mentioned earlier, you only have to cast an eye at the Mali group to be worried at what our future holds.

I will be eternally grateful to ML and the family for all they've done, but I think it's time they let us move on and get us fresh ownership now. They would get their investment back ten-fold if they sold now, and we would probably have a fair few interested parties given our current situation. But if they stick, and continue to wind us down, then it will get harder to get out of it.

I do truly think the time is now - we need to sell up to avoid a tumble.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but haven't the businesses just been wound up, as in not continued as a going concern anymore, rather than failed completely? Didn't NC manage the remaining portfolio after ML's death?

So you reckon there is a queue of very wealthy, yet responsible individuals or corporations out there just waiting to plough a couple of hundred million £s into Saints?

Look at Villa; or Newcastle; or Leeds?

We had one when we were bottom of league one with just a shell of a club, why wouldn't we after being 8th in the PL with 4 England players and various other internationals?

Trying to be un-biased here if I look at it purely from a business analyst perspective I would see a lot of potential in the club/company which could in turn create bigger revenues. To think or imply no 'responsible' individuals would be interested is a bit daft to be honest.

Because we were a bargain in league one, worth a punt with a very high chance of turning that small outlay into a sizable return.

Now we'd cost a fortune, and we would need hundreds of millions to take us to a Champions league spot, with a very high chance of not achieving that aim. The "headroom" potential of us now is miniscule, 5 years ago it was huge.

There is not a queue of multi billionaires prepared to take on a pretty nondescript provincial club to those kind of heights. We are unlikely to find better owners than those we have now.

124 of 140.

You're obsessed with me mate. I would be flattered but I assume you're one of those rapey types.

I've got no idea what those numbers you keep trotting out are all about. Are you rain man?

If you are getting hysterical you start a thread about it. If other people are supposedly getting too hysterical you start a thread about it. If you think you have been somehow vindicated in your hysterical non-hysterical ways you drag up an old thread about it.

Happy to leave you alone if you would stop it with all the attention-seeking nonsense.

Dibden Purlieu Saint with another 'look at me' bump of his old thread. Getting a bit boring now mate.

Nothing wrong with bumping old threads to show people what complete plums they have been. Serves them right for posting such inane drivel in the first place.

Exactly. Toon Saint was the first one to start retweeying my mistakes. Methinks he is a hypocrit (and a pretty clueless one at that).

If you are going to call me a 'clueless' hypocrite at least spell it correctly. Listen pal, the amount of thread titles you created as DPS starting 'who is to blame...?' on varying issues was pretty incredible.

Fair enough if you are channelling Bowie and you have gone for a bit of an identity change with the new album/avatar (and maybe that was needed) but it is a bit rich you getting all sanctimonious and calling out others as hysterical and starting threads 'what the **** is wrong with you lot?' That is what annoyed me, not necessarily the point you were making, which was of course, entirely valid.

It just seems like whatever your opinion is on any matter, it has to be the most on show.
