trousers Posted 23 May, 2014 Share Posted 23 May, 2014 From BBC Sport breaking sports news page:- England striker Rickie Lambert says he is shocked Southampton parted company with two coaches who helped him become an international player. On Tuesday, Jason Dodd and Paul Williams, who held coaching roles with their under-18s, left the Saints. Lambert, 32, says: "At Bristol Rovers I first had the confidence to be a striker but it was at Southampton that my whole lifestyle changed and a lot of it has to do with Jason Dodd and Paul Williams. It was disappointing to hear the news." "Disappointed" = "shocked" Only in journo land....
Barry the Badger Posted 23 May, 2014 Share Posted 23 May, 2014 Jason Dodd had a massive impact on Rickie's career. He sent out the team that played like dog**** against Bristol Rovers and made Rickie look like a world beater. 18 months later he was playing for us. Window Cleaner Posted 23 May, 2014 Share Posted 23 May, 2014 Im glad this all happened under the new board else this thread would have reached 100 pages so far. Did Les Reed have the power to sack them under Cortese ? Genuine question.
Smirking_Saint Posted 23 May, 2014 Share Posted 23 May, 2014 Did Les Reed have the power to sack them under Cortese ? Genuine question. Genuinely no idea. I imagine however that due to NC's insistance to have the final word on everything Id have to air to the side of no, rightly or wrongly. I obviously have nothing to back that up mind. I have no idea whether the sacking was a good decision or not, whether something happened or its a genuine sporting decision. What I do know is this place would be in meltdown if it was the 'dangerous dons' decision. Laughable that the new lot get off so lightly.

NC had the final word on everything, that much seems obvious.
