An interesting read on the Guardian website featuring Ron Ruddick, a long time scout for Saints.

None of your poncy Opta Stats here, just good old-fashioned observation, intuition and instinct. It seems to have served him well.

He used to run a six a side team for a pub near Bath in the 80s. Always had a few ringers. One year his team had Jason Dodd and my dad's had Fitzroy Simpson. He told me I'd play centre mid for Saints one day (I was 6) so he doesn't get them right all the time!
