Just shows how sensible Wengers policy was a few years back of signing the absolute cream of young talent from the lower divisions. Something we should not be afraid of doing. I wonder how many of our fans would **** themselves if we found out £15m was going on a 17 year old league 1 player this summer?

It's like finishing 8th could mean we kick on next year At the end of the day, these arsenal players have not won anything at arsenal. Fair play to them, they were by a long way the better side and you could see it meant a great deal

Our situation is sightly different - our transfer budget is not large enough to make the long-term bets. The top clubs can afford to wait, knowing their squad is deep enough that other players can fill in. By contrast, it is expected that our signings will make a more or less immediate impact.
