St Neel Posted 17 May, 2014 Share Posted 17 May, 2014 We're about to lose our manager and several of our best players. We wont be able to attract replacements of the same calibre Next season will be a relegation struggle. Do we as fans just accept that the club won't progress? The club is privately owned but we are the customers. And the customers should have a say. What should / can we do? So far we appear to be mainly being meek. Viking Warrior Posted 17 May, 2014 Share Posted 17 May, 2014 Welcome to the Forum St Neel It is indeed strange re all the media speculation day in day out as you say we maybe about to lose our manager, if we dont do you think he is an excellent manger who has met his brief of taking us to the next level Im always interested in the concept of the next level , if that means being a regular top 4 place then great, but no club has a devine right to be a top 4 or top 6 club,. Man united were meant to be invincible What do You think about MP as a manager are you chuffed he has done wonders for the players ?

Deano6 Posted 17 May, 2014 Share Posted 17 May, 2014 I'm kind of happy with a bit of an implosion and then picking up the pieces to be honest. We've reached the end of the road realistically in our progression. We've done it. We've won. I would rather someone hit the reset button and we were jolted back a few stages with a new challenge to try to get back to former glories all over again and more progressive improvements year-on-year, than see a sad, gradual decline over time and then a slow slip towards relegation, with each year more depressing than the last
igsey Posted 17 May, 2014 Share Posted 17 May, 2014 As far as I was aware, Glasgow, we've not sold any players nor lost our manager, simply released some of the players not cut out for a Champions League battle (that's how I'm choosing to view it!). What finally got GS banned? Is it temporary or permanent?

What finally got GS banned? Is it temporary or permanent? Dear Igsy, You must have been out of the loop for a few days, but while you've been away there has been an approach from Tottenham to take our manager, a bid of £27m for Luke Shaw and a bid of £20m for Adam Lallana. There's also a rumour that Liverpool would like Lovren. You are, of course, quite right that none of this has so far turned into any done deals but the deafening silence from the club could mean that the approaches have not all been turned down. That leaves fans with three possibilities to contemplate. (1) That none of the above named will leave; (2) That all of them will leave; (3) One or more will leave and one or more will remain. If the outcome is (1) it is status quo and nothing to be concerned about. If (2) or (3) come about the squad will be weaker unless new players are brought in. Even if we have development squad players who could step up, they won't be of the international standard that we stand to lose and as shown by the Osvaldo recruitment, new players involve risk. Can't see why anyone should object to a discussion of the possibilities, but anyone not wanting to participate isn't obliged to post a comment. Can't see why anyone should object to a discussion of the possibilities, but anyone not wanting to participate isn't obliged to post a comment. Can we lose the deafening silence motif? Most days, the club says bugger all. Doesn't make anyone deaf, doesn't mean anything in the big scheme of things. I completely accept that there has been a lot of speculation on the back pages. However, I also wonder what happens if you've got a four-page sports section and one page's worth of actual news. Actually I don't. Experience suggests that the tabloid dailies will not only fill their back pages with unsubstantiated shíte, but they'll then spend the next day with an article completely contradicting yesterday's unsubstantiated shíte. Anyone looking to solve the problem of the perpetual motion machine should take a look at the nation's back pages to see how something can feed itself almost entirely on its own shít. I'm not your traditional happy clapper. I accept that we're going to get offers for our players, and that sometimes, those offers are accepted. That's football; almost no club is immune, and as fans, we've no problem collectively coveting players from other teams. As long as we're sufficiently renumerated and have done our homework on our targets, it really shouldn't matter over the long term, particularly if the spine of the team has grown up playing with each other. I'm really not sure what you're expecting to hear from the club, especially since we've got recent experience with this sort of thing. Look at the way AoC left the club. Did we show weakness because we let him go? Should we have forced him to stay? The answer to both questions is no; he had his reasons for wanting to get out and it was clear that he was going. In that situation, may as well take the money. You're making out like the board is the ultimate arbiter of whether a player stays or goes, and in a purely technical sense, you're right. However, there are teams that can offer our players opportunities immediately that we can't offer them now. That has almost always been the case. What if Lallana or any other of our stars really want to go? Players aren't unthinking pawns that can be arranged as you see fit. They're people with aspirations and ambitions. I hate to say it, but Lallana and Liverpool are perfect for each other. If the board comes through this period retaining both MPs and ALs services, they'll have done well. There are reports today of them trying very hard. For me, that's all the more reason not to expend board efforts on providing a steady stream of inconclusive information to placate a handful of transfer-fearin' acolytes. St Neel Posted 29 May, 2014 Author Share Posted 29 May, 2014 Does anyone else feel f**king livid now? It may be early days but I sense the club is imploding. Is there anyone who is a member of supporters groups who feels the same and wants to organise some kind of protest? I would join like a shot
SaintRobbie Posted 29 May, 2014 Share Posted 29 May, 2014 Protest. There is no other way that Kruger and Less Reed will understand the anger that the fans are feeling. Especially as the Board have now been exposed as lacking integrity. I won't do it, but it is the only way fans can express their feelings in preseason. I've renewed my Season Ticket at a cost of well over £800. I hate to say this, but I am wondering if it's going to be worth it. I am not sure I want to be part of the vitriol that is about to descend on KL as owner of this mess, Les Reed as the principal architect and Kruger as the sacrificial clueless clown. I am not sure I want to go through the hatred of the Lowe years and watch our hopes and dreams evaporate again. I am thinking of phoning up in order to cancel. I hope I will get over it, but losing Cortese's ambition, our respected coaching staff, our talisman striker, our finest midfielder, our young talented left back, and I am sure many others and seeing a foreign manager come in who potentially can't even speak English (even when the last one could really!) Is it worth it?
