Bloo71 Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 I hope not but whatever happens it will probably just be a matter of time:( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/worldcup2014/article-2631147/World-Cup-viewers-face-adverts-DURING-matches-ITV-cash-mid-half-water-breaks.html
Viking Warrior Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 so his hairdresser in Oxford street was right afterall
Saint_clark Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 So they'll only be shown during mid half water breaks meaning we won't miss any actual football. Not that big a deal. I remember in the fa cup a couple of years ago they went to adverts during extra time and missed an everton goal. THAT was something worth getting ****ed off about.
pap Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 When I eventually learn about football, I'd fancy myself as a man who could spin you a bit of info about far flung leagues. As part of my training, I thought I'd watch a Colombian Premier League game (or whatever). Big mistake. Adverts throughout. They don't stop the game; they just dedicate about a sixth of the screen (and all of the audio) to the advertisement. Happens every 30 seconds or so. That is the hell that awaits us.
nta786 Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 Aren't you the Cardiff guy who wanted us to sign that petition thing or whatever? So I see, now that Cardiff are gone, you'll be supporting us ? Anyhow, ITV have the worst coverage from all the channels. That WC2010, was the worst for me- to show an advert when Gerrard scored was beyond ridiculous.

Start of the slippery slope though.....once ITV do it, then Sky and BT could very likely follow...I want to experience the whole game...it's the same at the start of the game when the players come out of the tunnel, atmosphere builds up and ITV go to adverts....breaks the flow, like
Whitey Grandad Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 ITV should not be allowed anywhere near football.
dubai_phil Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 Watching some sweaty blokes drink water or Rihanna busking in the Pepsi advert, No contest
BadgerBadger Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 Only one major issue with ITV world cup - Adrian Chiles
igsey Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 Only one major issue with ITV world cup - Adrian Chiles Exactly this, I'd take an advert break at every throw in if it means Adrian Chiles is never again allowed anywhere near a TV camera.
Wiggles31 Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 Only one major issue with ITV world cup - Adrian Chiles This. An utter clueless cretin.
John Boy Saint Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 Only one major issue with ITV world cup - Adrian Chiles Taters and Townsend aren't far behind
Wiggles31 Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 Townsend does my nut in too. Complete dinosaur of a commentator.
BlakeySFC Posted 17 May, 2014 Posted 17 May, 2014 It's the Daily Fail so dont' believe a word it says. How are people so gullible?
Secret Site Agent Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 Excuse me for asking but.........Isn't half of 45 22 1/2 NOT 30? Odd Anyway, I know they are a revenue stream that funds the programme, but i'm more than a little annoyed at the amount and length of adverts these days. You turn over the channel at 15 min passed the hour and nealy all of the channels have add breaks. And for a good 5 to 7 minutes as well.
benjii Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 I would rather watch an advert than listen to ITV's commentators and pundits.
