Deserves a thread of his own. What a player he was for us in the League 1 and Championship days. Massive part of our rise. Had a chance in the PL but was unfortunately a step too far for him.

Wish him the ultimate best of luck from now on. Thank you Guly.

That's a decent little montage. Quite easy to forget how good some of his goals were.

Also easy to forget just how brilliant the whole sash kit looked.

Goodbye

good riddance #drinkdriver

Pal you still got a job ?

Anyway Guly played a massive role in our rise - fitting that he was the last to leave from the old guard. From being a fish out of water and an aloof journeyman, says alot about him, the squad and its togetherness that he became such a liked member.

Lot of affection for Guly - a huge contributor in the rise but not quite the quality once we arrived.

Some great stuff in the montage...felt quite sentimental about his part in it all/

Good luck Guly...you're part of a legendary time at Saints - Thanks!

A great player for us in our climb up the league. I looked back thro' my old posts the other day and saw how often I had praised him in L1 & the Champ.

I wonder if he will join NA @ Reading?

Such a legend for us deserved two Appreciation threads clearly.

Thanks Guly good luck, loved how you scared the Citeh CB's to death in the 1st half of our 1st game the year we came up.

Got a little emotional there. Good luck Guly; this crop of Saints fans will always remember ya.

A good montage ruined by an utter ****e song.

Best of luck to him. He was decent in League One and the Championship. Shame he got so much stick from Saints fans though.

He never got stick from Saints fans, only from ignorant ****s.

Great character, much liked by his fellow players and altogether nice bloke who did a lot for us.

By the way, looking back the sash kit really was brilliant, I almost think I would prefer to go back to that than to the stripes.

A great servant who will be missed. Best of luck to him

Good player for us and wish him well.

But why do people still describe players who earn tens of thousands a week as servants?

Ditto
You banned Glasgow Saint for that? It's a view held by plenty of Saints fans.

Can see Guly going on and doing a job for a Championship team, someone like Charlton he could do a job for, always think there's been a bit too much fuss each way over Guly, decent contribution for us, slowly faded out of the team.

Err, have I missed something? Where's the link to confirmation he's off? If he is off, then thanks for the service Guly.

Retained (or not) list on the OS.

Guly did a massive job for us in L1 & NPC & we should all be grateful for that.

Ah yes thanks. Agree...never can understand the morons who boo their own players in the way Guly was.

Thanks Guly. Loved the fact that he played with a smile on his face. A joy to have in the team during our rise back to the top. Sad he never got the top flight goal he deserved. Cheers

Guly will always be remembered as the player that got Glasgow the ban-hammer.

Nah, I will always remember one of them as a contributor to our rise back up the leagues. The other, I will forget about before I finish typing this sentence.

What was this post about?

Cheers for embedding that.

Some amazing memories in there, he played a huge part in our promotions.

Cheers Guly!

Goodbye Saints' rose

May you ever grow in our hearts

You were the grace that placed itself

Where lives were torn apart

You called out to our city

And you whispered to those in pain

Now you belong to football exile

And the stars spell out your name

And it seems to me you lived your life

Like a candle in the wind

Never fading with the sunset

When the rain set in

And your footsteps will always fall here

Along Southampton's greenest hills

Your candle's burned out long before

Your legend ever will

Loveliness we've lost

These empty days without your smile

This torch we'll always carry

For our city's golden child

And even though we try

The truth brings us to tears

All our words cannot express

The joy you brought us through the years

(repeat chorus)

Goodbye Saints' rose

May you ever grow in our hearts

You were the grace that placed itself

Where lives were torn apart

Goodbye Saints' rose

From a city lost without your soul

Who'll miss the wings of your compassion

More than you'll ever know
