Batman Posted 13 May, 2014 Posted 13 May, 2014 Take £5m now why would you do that? i suspect he is the only striker we have that would make the bench at Juve
Window Cleaner Posted 13 May, 2014 Posted 13 May, 2014 Definitely not in their 30 then, neither is that other red herring that we're always supposed to be signing.
Bearsy Posted 13 May, 2014 Posted 13 May, 2014 Definitely not in their 30 then, neither is that other red herring that we're always supposed to be signing. what's that, Osvaldo didn't make the cut no? What A Shame
Convict Colony Posted 13 May, 2014 Posted 13 May, 2014 what's that, Osvaldo didn't make the cut no? What A Shame It's got to be gutting when you forsake your Argentinian heritage cos you know your not good enough for the Italian team due to a small bit of Italian sailor jizz landing in the wrong place and still can't get in the team. The argies are always claiming the Falklands so can we not claim Argentina ? Dunno about you but think they have a few good players England could use.
St Chalet Posted 13 May, 2014 Posted 13 May, 2014 I've merged the three Osvaldo threads. The guy clearly has talent but is a fruit loop. We will take a bath on him.

CB Saint Posted 13 May, 2014 Posted 13 May, 2014 To be fair they are already taking one mentalist in the form of balotelli, taking dani as well would just be pushing their luck a little too far

I hope he's gutted!

cellone Posted 13 May, 2014 Posted 13 May, 2014 To be fair they are already taking one mentalist in the form of balotelli, taking dani as well would just be pushing their luck a little too far That would either be a media feast or really dull depending their passion level for attention.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 13 May, 2014 Posted 13 May, 2014 Christ this place is much better without the usual two ****s ruining every thread What's happened to Glasgow?
cellone Posted 13 May, 2014 Posted 13 May, 2014 Any others hoping for a Punch style Bad Boy come good?
Saint Paul C Posted 13 May, 2014 Posted 13 May, 2014 Any others hoping for a Punch style Bad Boy come good? Yep. I'm one. I'd like to see a little more character in our team. We've got some great players but a touch on the grey side if you get what I mean. Players like Dani and Artur add some much needed colour to the side. I think we need to put what happened behind us and work out how we can get him to fit better. The guy gas talent and hopefully a desire to show the world what he can do.
Goatboy Posted 14 May, 2014 Posted 14 May, 2014 What's happened to Glasgow? He's posting on so many other forums as various Saints Web posters that he has forgotten who he actually is.

Tom28 Posted 14 May, 2014 Posted 14 May, 2014 Italy have picked a striker who is completely Immobile and left out Osvaldo. Just about says it all. ;-) I'll get my coat.

Toon Saint Posted 15 May, 2014 Posted 15 May, 2014 http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3276/serie-a/2014/05/12/4814286/osvaldo-i-have-grown-as-a-person-at-juventus He's been riding on the coat-tails of Juve's procession towards the Serie A title, contributing almost nothing. That must be humbling.
CanadaSaint Posted 15 May, 2014 Posted 15 May, 2014 He's been riding on the coat-tails of Juve's procession towards the Serie A title, contributing almost nothing. That must be humbling. Osvaldo doesn't do humility, and that will forever be his achilles heel. That, rather than his talent level, is why he's not going to Brazil. As I said early in this thread, Italy would be crazy to include someone with a more than 50% chance of damaging squad harmony.
VectisSaint Posted 15 May, 2014 Posted 15 May, 2014 Osvaldo doesn't do humility, and that will forever be his achilles heel. That, rather than his talent level, is why he's not going to Brazil. As I said early in this thread, Italy would be crazy to include someone with a more than 50% chance of damaging squad harmony. I thought they included Super Mario, 99% chance of damaging squad harmony, but I guess also high percent chance of contributing to the team as well.
CanadaSaint Posted 15 May, 2014 Posted 15 May, 2014 I thought they included Super Mario, 99% chance of damaging squad harmony, but I guess also high percent chance of contributing to the team as well. Balotelli, for the most part, was popular with teammates - even if they were occasionally frustrated with his antics. Osvaldo, on the other hand, aims his venom at his own people and has caused internal trouble at several clubs. But you're right, the "is he worth the bother" question is much more easily resolved in Balotelli's case because he's far more likely to add than subtract value.
WealdSaint Posted 15 May, 2014 Posted 15 May, 2014 http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2014/05/valencia-seek-deal-for-southampton-striker/
Olallana Posted 15 May, 2014 Posted 15 May, 2014 http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2014/05/valencia-seek-deal-for-southampton-striker/ They take him and we get Banega, Alcacer and Ruiz. Deal.
Wade Garrett Posted 15 May, 2014 Posted 15 May, 2014 http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2014/05/valencia-seek-deal-for-southampton-striker/ Wouldn't loan him out again. Tine to sell him.
Wiggles31 Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/osvaldo-upset-italy-omission Tosser.
benjii Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/osvaldo-upset-italy-omission Tosser. Why? Those comments are perfectly reasonable. He says he's disappointed but the other forwards deserved it. Maybe he's starting to regret ****ting his own bed here!
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 Imagine if Pochettino leaves and no-one wants Osvaldo and we're stuck with him
Colinjb Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 Imagine if Pochettino leaves and no-one wants Osvaldo and we're stuck with him Well, on that basis may I be the first to jump on the 'I hope he comes good for us' campaign?
Mr X Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 Imagine if Pochettino leaves and no-one wants Osvaldo and we're stuck with him He will strike just like kenwyne Jones, you can bet your money on it!!!
corsacar saint Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 I know that Juventus clinched the title a few weeks ago, but hopefully Osvaldos late, late winner away to runners up Roma, will push his value up a little more.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 I know that Juventus clinched the title a few weeks ago, but hopefully Osvaldos late, late winner away to runners up Roma, will push his value up a little more. OK he's worth 4 and 8 pence now then instead of 4 bob. Our best hope is shifting him to Valencia whilst their new owner doesn't mind losing a few bob on big names with dodgy characters.
nta786 Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 Was this really worth a thread on its own? It was already discussed in the Dani Osvaldo thread. Maybe his price won't go up- bit based on the celebrations they were all loving it.
corsacar saint Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 And it was last week, did come on as sub today though for 30 minutes, but unfortunately did not score.
VectisSaint Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 And it was last week, did come on as sub today though for 30 minutes, but unfortunately did not score. Guess that means that as Serie A has now finished he will be winging his way back to Southampton to meet up with his mates at Marchwood or St Mary's. He should get a warm welcome, from everyone there. Or does it mean he will go away somewhere and have a nice holiday first. Either way, the Club has some work to do now, either getting shot or re-integrating him into the squad.
Saint Billy Posted 18 May, 2014 Posted 18 May, 2014 If he comes back he needs to shave that damn scruffy beard off and get a hair cut. New start new image. Perhaps then less fiddling with hair bands and beard nets and more concentration on whats happening on the field.

Pass the Dutchie Posted 13 April, 2017 Posted 13 April, 2017 The Argentina-born Italian endured a turbulent spell on the south coast but Osvaldo, now the lead singer of a band, will be long remembered for this strike https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2017/apr/13/golden-goal-dani-osvaldo-for-southampton-v-manchester-city-2013
Lighthouse Posted 13 April, 2017 Posted 13 April, 2017 Strangely, I had a dream about him a couple of nights ago. We were 1-1 away to Juve in a European tie and brought him on as a sub. He scored the winner then ran around the pitch waving his car keys in the face of Juve players, telling them all he was rich and had a nice car.
HKsaint Posted 14 April, 2017 Posted 14 April, 2017 With the benefit of hindsight, I would have kicked out Fonte, instead of this talent.
S-Clarke Posted 14 April, 2017 Posted 14 April, 2017 With the benefit of hindsight, I would have kicked out Fonte, instead of this talent. What talent? He had very little from what I saw, hot headed, average football player.
saintadam Posted 14 April, 2017 Posted 14 April, 2017 With the benefit of hindsight, I would have kicked out Fonte, instead of this talent. Kick out a player that was an integral part of our success, very valuable to the team and instead keep a nutcase. Wow.
