Roger Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Pulis was probably not even listening. "Yeah of course Leon mate, yeah sure, completely agree pal. Got to go. Speak soon yeah?" Jesus you're such a negative poster. Leon saved the club with 500k to keep club going and paid for statue. He also appointed pearson which was good. You sound like you're ridiculing him.
Nolan Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 What time do odds get put up in morning! Only 6 places or so with odds at mo! http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton/next-permanent-manager Koemans has shortened in the majority of outlets overnight
thorpie the sinner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton/next-permanent-manager Koemans has shortened in the majority of outlets overnight Just wondered why Paddy power, Ladbrokes and bet 365 suddenly didn't have odds! maybe up later
FloatingbridgeSaint Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton/next-permanent-manager Koemans has shortened in the majority of outlets overnight its a bit concerning that Sean Dyche is still up there! Would hardly be the big name we would want..

Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Just wondered why Paddy power, Ladbrokes and bet 365 suddenly didn't have odds! maybe up later probably because they're suspended, temporarily or not I couldn't say.
SaintRichmond Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Re Michael Loudcrap Has he defined what a " Big Club " is ??
Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 They close over night. last night certain show them as suspended, on previous oveernights suspended doesn't appear. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/southampton/next-permanent-manager/bet-history/ronald-koeman/today
Nolan Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Why have Steve Bruce's Odds massively shortened to 20/1 ?
Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Why have Steve Bruce's Odds massively shortened to 20/1 ? He's British and Reed is choosing I expect.

All companies change at different times and doing at 2am, they might pick up the Far East morning trade for a few hours. Paddy are now up and running as of 9.21am
Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Many would moan but actually I think he's alright. Suffered from moving around too much early career, then took the sunderland job which he shouldn't as he never had support. did ok there really though and no-one has done any better there since. Great job at Hull. I'd support him here, but far from my first choice. Wouldn't be my first choice either but I'd prefer him to Koeman tbh. I don't want Koeman.

They've obviously got too much money on board and are dubious about taking any more, even at a very short price.
ratio_decidendi Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Wouldn't be my first choice either but I'd prefer him to Koeman tbh. I don't want Koeman. I think Steve Bruce did really well in getting Hull to the FA Cup Final, but out of interest, why do you prefer him to Koeman? Not a big fan?
Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 I think Steve Bruce did really well in getting Hull to the FA Cup Final, but out of interest, why do you prefer him to Koeman? Not a big fan? Not done enough for me, Dutch football is a real backwater compared to the PL.
ratio_decidendi Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Not done enough for me, Dutch football is a real backwater compared to the PL. That's fair enough. The Dutch league is dominated by three main clubs, so winning the league there isn't like winning the PL.
Convict Colony Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Think it isn't about end positions etc but what he did with the club he had. There were apparently 10th when he took over, hardly had any money and coached (this seems to be a rare skill for managers) the players to be better and thus improved the team to finish 2nd I think.
Trader Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Felix Magath straight in at 10-1 from nowhere on Skybet. Noooooooooooooooooooo!
Olallana Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Not really sure I buy into all this about the dutch league is easier and not as competitive. Yes, when you´re looking at buying players from there, then you have to take that into the eqvation but from the manager point of view I´m not that sure. Probably only 3-4 teams that can win the league (although Ajax has been dominating for several years now) but that´s pretty much as any league in Europe and if you can get average/decent players playing in a great way surely it´s a big possibility to have better players also playing the same way... For me Koeman is the best name mentioned and can hopefully calm things down regarding the squad and make players stay.
Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Felix Magath straight in at 10-1 from nowhere on Skybet. Noooooooooooooooooooo! What makes you think he's any worse than Bruce,Dyke or Koeman...really ? Now down to sevens, money must be pouring in on him, with just one operator though.
Saint Charlie Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 What makes you think he's any worse than Bruce,Dyke or Koeman...really ? Now down to sevens, money must be pouring in on him, with just one operator though. Greg Dyke would be an awful choice!
Wade Garrett Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Felix Magath straight in at 10-1 from nowhere on Skybet. Noooooooooooooooooooo! He was crap at Fulham. Danny Murphy ripped his tactics to pieces. Would be a poor appointment,
Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 He was crap at Fulham. Danny Murphy ripped his tactics to pieces. Would be a poor appointment, Fulham were crap, would need a genius to change that.
Saint Charlie Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Magath now 6/1, they must have had quite a bit of cash on him.
shurlock Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 He was crap at Fulham. Danny Murphy ripped his tactics to pieces. Would be a poor appointment, He made them look far more competitive than either of the other two managed.
Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Magath now 6/1, they must have had quite a bit of cash on him. Someone has probably seen him in the vicinity of SMS, taxi driver or something.
Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 He made them look far more competitive than either of the other two managed. He did indeed.
Saint_Ash Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Koeman has also shortened to 2/5, was 1/2 this morning. I've been following it all on Betfair as well to see where the money is going, people still steadily put small amounts on Moyes but it's all going on Koeman, people hovering up at 1.5 to 1.6, over a grand.
Olallana Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Dont see why we would go after a manager (Magath) that are already in a job...
Bucks Saint Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Think it isn't about end positions etc but what he did with the club he had. There were apparently 10th when he took over, hardly had any money and coached (this seems to be a rare skill for managers) the players to be better and thus improved the team to finish 2nd I think. Yep, this. I am not convinced that managing a club in the bottom half of La Liga is any more competitive than managing a club in the top 3 or 4 of the dutch league. Yes the top teams in Spain are much better, but the rest?
Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Dont see why we would go after a manager (Magath) that are already in a job... With Fulham you never know who's in a job and who isn't. Apparently the cancelled Hangelaand's ongoing contract by e-mail yesterday.
thorpie the sinner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Think Koeman is a cert, just wish they would stop fannying around!
View From The Top Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 He was crap at Fulham. Danny Murphy ripped his tactics to pieces. Would be a poor appointment, You are aware of his record in Germany aren't you?
Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 You are aware of his record in Germany aren't you? Added to the fact that Danny Murphy knows anything about modern tactics....well it doesn't really stand up as an opinion.
Window Cleaner Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Think Koeman is a cert, just wish they would stop fannying around! Why is he such a cert, big fish from a small pond, certainly no guarantee that he'll do anything in the PL, no guarantee that he won't either but he was poor at Valencia and indifferent in Portugal. Moyes was certain to do well at Utd right ??
MAY-Z Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Magath now 6/1, they must have had quite a bit of cash on him. Not at all, with speculative markets like this were some people know the answer bookies are very defensive. They set these markets with very high percentages and reCt very quickly to small amounts of bets
Webby Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 The worrying things is, of course, that the manager we want doesn't want the job after discussions with the club. Who knows what the plan is! Same goes with transfer targets.

Wildgoose Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 If anyone could have kept Fulham up it was Magath. Not very fashionable but very intelligent....and effective. That would be an interesting appointment. Very sound I think. Koeman is the flair element. I would take either I think.
Hatch Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 I think Koeman would create a buzz amongst the players, surely Lovren could only improve under someone like him.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 You are aware of his record in Germany aren't you? I said this to someone the other day on here, was flabbergasted at their attitude towards a manager who has an outstanding record.

SB Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 Last time I got excited about an appointment it was George Burley, and well that ended well.. However id feel very underwhelmed at most of these names being spouted. Koeman? Really..
Toon Saint Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 I said this to someone the other day on here, was flabbergasted at their attitude towards a manager who has an outstanding record. Despite a decent record in Germany he is almost universally despised there: http://gu.com/p/3bx7v/tw

Tom & Gerry Posted 4 June, 2014 Posted 4 June, 2014 As long as he has the man management skills of McMenemy, the coaching ability of Hoddle and the passion of Ball I don't care who the manager is.
