Saint_Abroad Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 If we get Koeman can we call him RoKo? I like RonK (pronounced as one word). Given his squarish head, he could color himself green, wear torn purple shorts and when we play Spurs he can scream "RonK smash, RonK smash!" O man the look on poch's face.
SNSUN Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 If we get Koeman, it'll spice up the United games. Koeman was Van Gaals assistant at Barcelona. I'm hoping for a little favouritism with loanees and ting. Like the relationship Sir Alex had with his son...

Although not understanding any of this at all I'm sure that it will help us to play better football. However wronk means smell in the sense of stink,
Convict Colony Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 yeah i like the Ronk as it sort of reminds me of the Gronk who plays for New England Patriots
Saint_Abroad Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 Although not understanding any of this at all I'm sure that it will help us to play better football. However wronk means smell in the sense of stink, It was a word play on Hulk.
Window Cleaner Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 It was a word play on Hulk. Ah yes Hulk, have you ever reflected on why his shorts don't split in the same way as the rest of his garments? I mean his jacket and shirt and whatever burst open but never his shorts.
SaintRobbie Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 "Michael Laudrup has seemingly ruled himself out of the running for the Southampton and West Bromwich Albion jobs - insisting he would only now take an offer from a 'big club'." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9336409/michael-laudrup-would-only-take-offer-from-big-club-in-premier-league what an arse, originally thought he'd be a good shout to replace Maurice but over the last few days i've rapidly gone off the idea What a shame - he was such a great manager for Swansea. Shame we're too small for him. HAHAHAHAHAHA! What a prat. I bet he hasn't even been put on West Broms short list either! Blokes delusional!
Minsk Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 Says on the BBC article about Lallana that he's hoping Southampton will get a new manager soon so he can complete his move before the WC. Might it be in Southampton's interest not to disclose that they had recruited a new manager until late enough that it can't be completed? I thought Woy said once they had left the UK he wouldn't allow any transfer talks/agents/etc? Surely AL would need to have a medical in Liverpool if he was going there? There's no way he will be allowed to fly back for one. Okay, that could mean everything agreed and transfer would happen dependant on his passing a medical; but I'm pretty sure he will remain on Saints' books until after the world cup now anyway. So we may as well wait until after then to agree the price.

There will be a free day or so in their programme before the real games start, players are usually at full liberty to do what they want in that time, within reason of course.

I bet he hasn't even been put on West Broms short list either! Blokes delusional! which really means we are not interested in him after he contacted the club. just saving face
SaintRobbie Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 It was a word play on Hulk. Wanyama could have him no problem.
trousers Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 @alex_crook: RT @Joe_Batchelor: Murat Yakin is still interested in the #saintsfc job but has confirmed he has still NOT had any contact.
Toon Saint Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 @alex_crook: RT @Joe_Batchelor: Murat Yakin is still interested in the #saintsfc job but has confirmed he has still NOT had any contact. Not sure there where was any ever substance to this link. Simon Peach said he would be a good candidate, so Alex Crook & co. latched onto this and badgered him for quotes about the job after Poch finally left.
Saint Charlie Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 @alex_crook: RT @Joe_Batchelor: Murat Yakin is still interested in the #saintsfc job but has confirmed he has still NOT had any contact. Quality from Crook's ladz. He interviewed Yakin's agent at the start, who said he might be interested. If he still hasn't heard anything then its probably because Saints aren't interested so might as well give up pestering the guy.
Ulrich van Gobbel Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 Koeman will be flying out of Heathrow at 6pm this evening back to Amsterdam..
Baird of the land Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 @alex_crook: RT @Joe_Batchelor: Murat Yakin is still interested in the #saintsfc job but has confirmed he has still NOT had any contact. Slightly disappointing if true as i liked the looks of him . Guess board have gone in a different direction. Now just hoping its Koeman as he seems miles better than any of the other options i've seen touted(moyes/Mackay/Mclaren etc)

SNSUN Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 Why not from Southampton at 17.55 if he's been here? Had to pop to WHL as Poch nicked the keys to the manager's office.
Ulrich van Gobbel Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 Why not from Southampton at 17.55 if he's been here? You would probably need to ask that to whoever booked his flight. He is flying out of Heathrow on a 6pm flight this evening.
Saint_Abroad Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 Why not from Southampton at 17.55 if he's been here? Wants to collect One World frequent flyer miles.

JoeShmoe Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 So we have a shortlist of x, including Koeman and have spoken to him So now we speak to the others and make a decision As it should be

Window Cleaner Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 I doubt that would include flying to the UK and back just to complete a medical and signing some paperwork. Certainly not, but medical facilities are freely available in Miami no doubt and the American owners of Liverpool would probably know exactly where to find them.

Wildgoose Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 Now I'm confused....I thought he flew out of Heathrow yesterday! Terminal 20 or whatever it was.....???/
Minty Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 Are people really trying to track his every move? Go live a little, it'll be announced soon enough. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Saint Charlie Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 Crook said its dead cert so probably means its off. His logic is that Yakin hasnt been spoken to so we must be getting Koeman. #CrookLogic

Saint Charlie Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 So the short list of 6 is a non-goer then ? I was looking forward to that being published actually. Nobody knows. What Koeman hasnt been reported as anything near a certainty by any reputable sources, not just yet anyway.

Gorgiesaint Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 Just taken a look at the Dutch press, very little on Koeman. Algemeen Dagblad stated that Koeman was photographed and put on Twitter last night as being at Gatwick Aairport on his way to Southampton. The reporter confirms Koeman has been approached by Southampton. The only other mention was on Voetbal International (biggest weekly football magazine in Holland) who stated that he was favourite for the job. All very quiet at the Dutch end!!!
Leicestersaint Posted 3 June, 2014 Posted 3 June, 2014 I am really surprised that this is all taking so long and thereby extending the period of uncertainty. Surely our board knew that MP was likely to leave - had they done no research before hand? Amateurish.

Surely our board knew that MP was likely to leave - had they done no research before hand? Amateurish. If I was board it would hardly take me 5 minutes to appoint new manager. I would already know who all the top managers are & what they have done, I reckon if the dumb board sat around studying everyone's character for a twelvemonth it would hardly improve their chances of making successful appointment.
