Sod the jibes from other fans, sod the rumours, sod the naysayers.

Today was a bloody BRILLIANT day to be a Saints fan. 3 of the lads we have watched develop are going to a World Cup. My God, going back to the days when I was a kid & collected the coins from Esso or the cards from Panini or their predecessors, the World Cup Squad was

A BIG THING

So, just for today, I am going to take those jibes for what they are, Sour Grapes. I'm gonna stay up (down here) until 4am to watch OUR boys in the World Cup.

If you felt pride today then post it. You want to post that we're so broke we've even sold the pitch then sod off to another thread.

What a magical moment, how sad for Jay and SRL?

Golden Boot beckons or at least a Disney movie :smug:

It's being many a year since I have been excited about the World Cup but this year is going to be special . Thank you SRL, LS, and Adam . My faith in England has been restored for all Roy's faults at least he can recognise real talent unlike huddle and vegetables

Come on England . It would be really awesome if Rickie scored the winning goal in the Final

That would be a real boys own type story

Everyone I have met since Sunday, NZ time, has been made aware that Saints might have

3 players in the England squad. I also mentioned it might have been 4 but for Jays injury. :(

Now that it is official I shall now have great pleasure in reminding same that Saints now defo

have 3. :D:D:D

It's fantastic news, delighted for all of them, especially Rickie. Just a shame that by the time the tournament comes round he will be the only Southampton representative

Plenty to be shouting about...so much so I've finally found something I can be arsed to write about.

3 out of a squad of 23 puts us high up on the list of which clubs have provided the players.

Liverpool 5

Man Utd 4

Saints 3

Everton 3

Citeh 2

Chelsea 2

Arsenal 2

WBA 1

Celtic 1

Its definitely something to be throwing back to the likes of Chumpions Citeh about. They may be the best in the league but can only provide England with 2 players for a World Cup. Happy for Ricky, happy for Lallana, happy for Shaw and very happy to be a Saints fan

Very proud day, England comes a fair way behind Saints in my 'could care' ratings and have only ever made a point of not missing an England game when Saints players are involved so now really looking forward to the World Cup!

Thoughts with Jayrod though...what might have been!

Very proud! my screen saver is picture of when J-Rod, SRL, Shaw, Lallana and Ward Prowse posed with an England shirt after their call-ups - everyone at work knows at Saints!
