Adam Lallana - Medical at Liverpool

Sure I am fine with that.

It seems like we are all going through the grieving process, just you are still at anger whilst I have got through to acceptance. So let it all out.

Hey accepted it would happen as soon as he got in the England camp and don't try to tell me about loss and grief OK I have had enough real loss and grief (family) in my life already.

I think a lot of the vitriol is because we are genuinely gutted to lose him. He is a good player and we'd be a better team if he stayed. Things change quickly in football and if he doesn't want to fulfil his destiny as club legend that's fine. Let's show a bit of class ourselves and not act like dumped teenagers.

Having met him I don't think he is up his own arse, I'd actually say he is quite shy and insular if anything, doesn't enjoy the limelight ala Scholes.

So good luck Adam, thanks for the memories and I hope we pass Liverpool on the way down on our way to the Champions League.

my opinion as well....dont think he will do that well in scousepool.

Probably not gonna be their first choice wide midfielder.

I'm expecting them to play him as part of the central 3, rotating with Coutinho

Yep, if they can sort that defence out they'll actually do very well. Adam will fit in perfectly with them.

There's far too much bitterness towards him. If it was your son what would you be telling him...

I also note TheVMAN has been viewing the forum, if you feel owe this man anything for all the ITK snippets we have had in recent years, it would be nice to respect the fact that he is someone probably very close to Adam and can't be pleasant reading.

100% this

Echo says the deal is completed and Adam's left on vacation. Elsewhere they report Dany Osvaldo is back and will be expected today at Staplewood.

Wonder whether all the players exiting has anything to do with a decision to bring Osvaldo back. Can't believe the clubs not got that sorted yet. Only going to get Koeman's reign of to a very bad start atmosphere wise.

Saints are delaying until after the new kit is revealed because Adam was the model for it .....................

That sounds pretty unlikely, given that he's meant to have told them he wanted to leave before the end of the season.

I doubt it - they can't be arsed to take down the posters and shop fittings plastered with Lambert, Shaw and Lallana in the West Quay store etc., so can't see them worried about that TBH!

You mean by, say, closing the Megastore and West Quay shop today, and keeping the Megastore closed for another 2 weeks or so? I think that will probably cover it.

Well, good luck Ads - it was the right time for you to make the move and you have served us well, stuck by us during the dark days and finally shown the promise we all knew was there.

Onwards and upwards, looking forward to his replacement

Y'see, I don't get this "stuck by us during the dark days" bulls hit that I keep seeing on this thread. Surely you could say the same for the club sticking by the player through his "dark days".

If the VMan is that close to the player you would have hoped he would have advised him to act with a bit more CLASS on his way out the door. I believe that is the root cause of the ill feeling towards the player. He has demonstrated that he just has no CLASS.

I will be very interested to see if he has the b alls to write a goodbye letter of the same class as Lambert.

Personal Terms to negotiate how much of the (higher than expected) insurance Adam will have to pay out of his own wages and how much Liverpool will cover? Pure speculation, but makes sense to me. A bit.

Aha. still sent from my effing nexus 4, but I have found the setting now dammit.

If the money was spread out evenly across all the teams there would be no motivation to win it and most clubs would put there reserves out. Nobody would want to watch that, if nobody watches it there is no money and then the whole thing collapses. The fact that there is so much money involved shows that there is a lot of interest in the competition and people are willing to pay large amounts to watch games on TV.

It's capitalism. It may not be perfect but it's the best system we can think of.

Without wishing to turn this into a left/right debate, but the NFL is based on a more socialist model (even if the Yanks would be loathe to admit it) and it seems to do them just fine. It's just a big pot of money that they split between all the commie teams. Six different winners in six different years seems pretty fair to me. The top teams still dominate, but the smaller teams have got a chance of chasing the dream, albeit without the fear of relegation which is where the EPL spectacle really is.

The NFL draft system would never work in "soccer". They also have wage caps. I believe NFL also have to put 35% of ticket sales revenue into a pot that is then divided equally amongst all. You may get 13 teams agreeing to change, but 6 or 7 certainly wouldn't.

Yeh they harp on about playing at hartlepool on a wet winters evening , what about the fans who paid hundreds of pounds to go and sit in the rain and watch them , they get paid thousands to stick by us in the 'dark days' where as we pay thousands to stick by them in their dark days !

On Sky Sports news they just showed Lallana walking to his car with Jack Cork in front of him.. Might have been mentioned on here before but I can't be arsed to look for it. Unless that bit of video is old?

Just been told some pretty explosive stuff re: Adam Lallana's departure from #saintsfc which I will reveal later. Deal now done

Just hope the bridges are not being burned too severely.

Hard is torn on Adam, it is the end of an era and I am not a fan of how the whole thing has been managed on his side. However, I can't not wish him well, he's stuck with us through thick and thin and been a symbol of our rise and the academy - proof that they can achieve whilst still at saints.

He is also the last of "that batch" and I look to the next lot with a lot of hope.

On a side note has Sarnia been banned as suggested on another thread? Wouldn't surprise me, all his posts in this thread are insults or antagonistic lol. Talk about embarrassing yourself on an internet forum  "Hey want stop this before it gets outta control?":mcinnes::rolleyes::x

He's still wearing our watch the pr*ck!

Meh. We knew it was coming. More than anything I am relieved the uncertainty is done and we can move on.

More peeved at this one than Shaw and Lambert, but he's entitled to look out for himself.

Let's just move on. And yes we may have another one or two out the door, but whatever.

August 16 won't get here any faster either way.
