Adam Lallana - Medical at Liverpool

Dr Who?

Recommended Posts

We need to hold fast and not let Adam dictate anything. If he suddenly thinks he is bigger than the whole team then he needs a lesson and to be made an example of. This is business, you signed a contract, if liverpool dont think you are worth the money we want then tough ****, take it up with them. If what Guan says is true i'd minimum have his captaincy off him then bench him till his head returns to normal size even if it costs us long term. The other players need to be sent a message.

Agree unless we get our 30M valuation met then he should go nowhere. Can't have clubs believing they can tap up our players to ensure we accept criminally low fees. If journos are accurately reporting his views then yeah take the captaincy off him and give it to someone who of better character & hope he comes to his senses.

lol if england go out in group stages i can totally see him asking for switch to spain's team. He will deserve this move cos of his previous 26 yrs loyalty to england.

lol, I had thought the same but I had thought he wanted to change to Brazil as afterall hes had a Brazillian for ages 9not thrugh my experience may i add

I think he has let himself down, the club down & Saints fans down with his behaviour.

Don't get me wrong the board are not blameless, but he signed a 5 year deal. No one put a gun to his head.

I am starting to really hate footballers & the money in the game.

Might stick to watching my lads play!

Me too Ade. The vast majority of them seem to be arrogant, spoilt brats. I guess it was naive to expect our players to be any different but I hopes they would be.

I don't think anyone would begrudge him a move to a champions league club but there are ways of going about your business and as someone who had kissed the badge at every opportunity as well as talk about how he would love to finish his career here it's such a shame that one decent season and a couple of England caps seem to have turned him into yet another arrogant ***** who believes their own hype. If there is anything in the stories of course.

He's got the chance to play Champions League football and make a high profile move- he's excited and wants it to happen. He doesn't hate Saints, it's just one of those things. There may also be some poisonous stuff going on behind the scenes (not unlikely) that he wants to get away from. I was devastated that Lambert went, but these things happen.

Wet Spam view

When you see fans of other clubs using words like SHAME ON YOU, it would appear that someone needs to give him a slap and get him a PR specialist pdq.

Some of that is true but they say he's put in a transfer request which he hasn't actually done. He's actually doing worse by telling people he wants to leave and force his more through but not making it official. Wants his cake and eat it.

indeed richard

if no move for him comes about. he can distance himself from the 'paper talk' about wanting to leave and tell everyone how much he loves the club and the importantly, the fans

If he has handed in a transfer request then the board need to make a stand. Lallana has been with us for a long time and I am sure we can all respect his wish to play at a bigger club. However he has to respect the fact he only signed a new deal last year, a bumper deal. We are not here to make players dreams come true, we are here to be competitive with the players who are under contract for us. If he throws a hissy fit then let him play in the reserves. Liverpool stood up to Suarez and he still acted professional (even if he did try and re-create something from silence of the lambs). Adam needs to do the same.

If we let him go because of his wish to go then it opens up the door for everyone else to leave when they see fit. You can't run a company/club like that. It shows you to be weak.

Lallana cannot leave - he's not even on the SWF banner yet.

Hold the phone. Is this the real reason he's asking to leave....???

This is spot on BTW. At worst we should hold on to Shaw and Lallana until January and even then only let one of them go.

Allegedly. Still unconfirmed sources.

The whole story may come out in due course but one thing remains true, when players from "lesser" clubs go on England duty they are often tapped up by players from "bigger" clubs. Mind you the same was true in the Tyro league, the rep sides were recruiting grounds for the successful clubs!

He could be our very own John Terry, turning up at various cup finals/trophy awards as a full kit wan**r :)

is it deffo bad publicity? Have you seen the unedited video?

I’m waiting for the movie to come out.

Four Sheddings and a Funeral.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;

Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;

Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.

For nothing now can ever come to any good.

:(:(:(:( RIP our dreams.

He did? Where was that?

He posed the question to WS at MU match, either he or I posted it after. Pretty much in 379 & 400. He wasn't quoted as such.

The Adam Lallana revisionist history is well and truly underway!

And to be honest it doesn't reflect well upon this forum. Lad's had it with us, he wants European Football and can obviously see that he'll not get it here. He's 26, probably only got 2 or 3 more seasons at the top..

What, he only has until he's 28 or 29 at the top? Blimey dont mention Giggs, Lampard or even Lambert to him then

Then don't sign a five year contract with a club which wasn't in Europe and wont get there any time soon. Its a self inflicted wound.

Seems a real shame how quickly folks are willing to turn on one of their own. Sure Adam may being having doubts, and now wants to try things elsewhere, but lets be honest, with Poch and NC gone, and the 'plan' now unknown, seems quite natural to me... add the temptations of more cash and CL football and you have a combination that would tempt anyone of us if we are honest with oursleves, especially if we also think back to when we were 26 and how we would be.

I think its a shame that the club has changed to such a degree that we no longer appeal to him.... and that he does feel he cant be part of whatever is to come.... IF that report is indeed correct. Any conspiracy theorists might just suspect such stuff is planted to make us dislike him and thus not feel so bad about the board selling him :suspicious: :p - who knows... as too often the ''facts can be used to obscure the truth''

Agree - can't remember this amount of bile being directed at many other former players. Even Kenwyne got off relatively lightly.

I think the disappointment is so deep because it always seemed like he was a saints fan too, who wouldn't make all the want-away noises currently attributed to him. Thin line between love and hate. I don't know if it's warranted, but it explains why Kenwyne wouldn't get the same level of vitriol.

Doesn't seem like that to me at all. He's acting like a bit of a c o c k and needs telling he's acting like a bit of a c o c k. Lambert went about things the right way and everyone's happy (ish!) with the circumstances, but this does not seem to be the case with AL. He's the Team Captain but seems to be acting like the Team Sulk and is not offering what a Skipper should offer.

The key is there are no quotable sources. Lallana always struck me as a good honest loyal bloke and I'll be gutted if he leaves. Disappointed too as I expect more of him.bafter all those famous quotes when he signed a new contract. Even if he's not impressed by the new board that's hardly justification for throwing your toys out of the pram. He should give it at least six months. That's about as far as my vitriol goes.

Lallana does know that if he leaves he will eventually have to play against Wanyama doesn't he?

There was certainly no love lost in that tackle Brian. An early 'welcome back' to St Marys from Victor Wanyama. And an early bath for the big Kenyan.

A lot of the bad feeling is down to his comments, only just over a year ago, when he signed his five year contract. They were the complete opposite of what's been attributed to him the last few days

Well yes but footballers oscillate between sick as a parrot and over the moon quite easily.

We were a win away from going top of the league at the Emirates. I expect many players got their hopes up that we would be in Europe this coming season. Then NC, DO, and MP all leave followed by RL. You can see why every player at Saints maybe reconsidering their options for where their futures lie.

This is probably what is annoying people. (Although he might be half way through a Nazi salute)

He's signalling about his heart - but I'm not sure if he means "I love Saints and never want to leave" or "I've done 60 minutes, take me off before it packs up"

I personally think that if Adam and or Luke want to leave and the club are getting north of £60m for them plus Lambert and Osvaldo then fine. As long as the club bring in a good manager and significantly strengthen we can come out of this stronger than last year. I think maybe the time is right as long as the fees are right to revamp the side.

And I think everyone on the board here would agree with you Derry. So disappointing to think the team captain is behaving this way after the journey we have been on. OK, so the 5 year plan has been achieved; I would like to think he would hang around to hear what the next 5 year plan aspires to deliver.

This. It's about time bloody footballers learnt that a contract is a contract.

But then wouldn't clubs need to respect them for managers as well ? Obviously they reach a pay off settlement, might be the totality of the contract might be less but players can't just pay up their contract and walk away.

I am sure Luke Shaw is on the verge of a move. You don't hear him begging via leaked messages to the local press and Cortese newhounds for a move.

I get that players want to move on, but show a bit of respect for us fans please AL, even if you don't give a **** about Les and Ralph.

IMO selling Shaw will be like selling Bale. You may strengthen the squad, but you can only play 11 of them and that 11 will certainly be weaker at left back for starters as we won't sign anyone better than him. I wonder if we will sign any player that is better than our current best 11 (centre forward apart now that Rickie has gone).

contracts these days for the top players are more to protect the club from the player walking on a free though aren't they?

If you go into the history section of the forum and look at the threads that start with the name Lallana you find that on no end of occasions he was about to leave (in addition to some classic comeents about him never making it as a footballer). Stoke at one stage were apparently going to buy him for £750,000.

I bet they wish that they had!!
