Adam Lallana - Medical at Liverpool

Dr Who?

Recommended Posts

I know Liverpool is obviously a step-up but on a personal level, he's an Everton fan and as far as I know has no links to the north let alone Liverpool? He'll be earning a lot more yes but apart from that, not being a regular starter could do more harm than good to his England place and I think Liverpool's season was more of a one off this year. Can't see them maintaining a top 4 finish consistently for years, United are bound to come back. But then mainly it all comes down to £££££.

That looks nothing like Lallana in that "naked" picture to me. Closest he ever got to looking like that was in 2008/2009 when he was near enough a skin head.

I didn't even recognise it as being him at first. And I still don't.

My feeling in respect of Adam is he is caught between two positions. I don't get the feeling he is naturally confident guy and shuns the limelight. I get the feeling he is being pushed around. It is almost like he is waiting for the club to do something so he can then use it as an excuse. I'd also couple this with the fact that he is clearly worried that this 'chance' might not be available again, say in a years time.

I'd like him to stay. He is a quality footballer but just not handling this situation very well. Everyone entitled to a wobble.

well he will not be staying now, having told the club he wants to leave after the world cup.

Adams missus will not be too happy with him being in the front page of the sun .

He's ruining his World Cup . I suspect woy will keep him on the bench saying his mind is not focused on the World Cup .

Yes, I think you are right. I wouldnt risk him in the starting XI against Italy. But maybe he will refocus when the games start.

The new manager will want a chat with him when he gets back from Brazil and a couple of days to let him chew over his words before a move is approved, I suspect. Especially if he has a disappointing WC, which looking incrreasing likely, imo. All is not lost, but it does look unlikely.

Being that you said you "so hope we go out in the group stage" surely chucking in an apparently unfocused Lallana into the team is a perfect little hand grenade to ensure that happens?

Times Sports Editor "LFC will sign Lallana. Unless something amazing happens."

Its just a matter of time/negotiations.

That can't be right, they've made their final bid. They'll be moving onto other targets now. ;)

That's fair. Rooney wanted to leave ManUre in the summer. He didn't. It will be the first test of our new manager to keep him and manage out his emerging arrogance to get him back on track.

Let's also be clear. If he has a poor WC you can only blame his lack of professionalism - not the actions of the Club in standing firm - and the actions of Liverpool in their underhandedness in tapping up our players, including the England and Liverpool captain Steve Gerrard. You then have to blame Woy Hodgson, who made it clear that there was to be no transfer talk in the camp before the ex Liverpool manager (I added that for effect I know - but it is a fact) then changed his pitch conveniently to benefit Liverpool by saying he wanted to have all transfers done before the WC starts! The latter bit to me is scandalous and (after the WC) the Club MUST COMPLAIN TO THE FA. Hodgson has not only been unprofessional, but his pressure on the club to release Lallana early has potentially costs us millions in the final transfer fee.

But, Koeman has a chance to bring Adam back and reprogramme him. The club appear to be sticking to their guns and promise to wait for the managers ideas.

If I was Adam? I'd shut up. Keep my mind and options open and talk to fellow Evertonian Rooney above Gerrard.the damage he's doing to himself and the ridicule he will face in the press after the WC will be huge. There is also no guarantee he will play as well as he has at Liverpool.

Finally, sometimes Clubs need to be tough. There will be better offers than Liverpools. Regardless of what Lallana wants, we sell to the highest bidder and set an example - let's see if Kruegers words on us being in control mean something after all and whether he can redeem himself.

In sport or business you reward loyalty with loyalty - that's effectively what we did for Rickie Lambert so the Club can feel vindicated here. Right now, there is no such privilege for Adam Lallana.

But.... He's saveable with a great manager.

Agree with this, but it might all become moot if he forsakes his greed and hands in a transfer request before the WC or Thieving Scousers FC cave in and agree to our valuation.

Unless they up their bid, there will not be better offers than Liverpool's.

Do you seriously think other clubs will come in for him at that price? Next you'll be telling us £25m is a bargain.

Something else that is beginning to grate a bit is that AL keeps tweeting about how great it is to play with quality or world class players. It's a little disrespectful to the ret of the team IMOIMO

Lol and to be fair compared to Saints last season I'm not sure there are many world class players in the England team.

Clattenburg was right. Gone to his head. He needs strong management to put him back in his box.

As SaintRobbie has said, the club has the option of taking a stand.

Lallana is under contract for 4 years. He can hardly go on strike for a period like that, in fact even a short period of not playing to his ability would lose him his England place. If the club are really committed to competing with the top four that won't be done by selling the best players as soon as they become noticed. The new manager can sit Adam down and explain in the nicest possible way why his transfer will not be agreed and that on the contrary the intention is to bring more quality players in. As long as the club management have genuinely set an upward target and it's not just PR waffle. The sale of Lambert has sent the wrong message and must be a factor in Lallana's attitude now, which our Board were too blind to see would happen. It's important they don't make the same mistake again.

One can only assume other teams must be training in Miami too and he decided to join in.

I think he has let himself down, the club down & Saints fans down with his behaviour.

Don't get me wrong the board are not blameless, but he signed a 5 year deal. No one put a gun to his head.

I am starting to really hate footballers & the money in the game.

Might stick to watching my lads play!

Met AL recently ...impression was totally different to the AL of a few years ago...sad that I wrongly had him down as someone who'd survive the hype and fame .. Too much time spent with MP and NC massaging his ego perhaps ?

Why all of a sudden is there all this bad publicity for Adam . I always saw him as a quiet and shy lad .

The media and the fans should be focussing on getting behind all the England team for the World Cup . Instead of dragging up non stories . It always seems to happen just before the World Cup .

Do you hear of negative stories about players in other countries competing . ?

I want Adam and co to focus on the World Cup . Maybe he will stay maybe he won't .

I am very much an annoyed saints at present with all the negativity of our players leaving . It's not helpful but that's football

I don't think al has an appalling attitude . It's probably his agent and other agents misrepresenting him . Would not be the first agent to do this to a player . After all agents get a fair cut of transfer fees don't they ?

your constant defence of any player is commendable

Lallana Betrays Southampton Fans As He Eyes Tottenham Move

How sad. We all knew that the baby rats would follow Daddy Rat Pochettino out of Southampton, but it leaves a disgusting taste in the mouth when a player turned into a star by a club then betrays the fans of that club by slapping in a transfer request.

We have been through it at West Ham, and Judas Defoe will never be forgiven for slapping in a transfer request the day after we were relegated. But Lallana doesn't even have that excuse! Southampton are - for the time being - still a Premiership club and the fans have been brilliant, paying good money to back the team even when the club was in the old Third Division with a then unrecognised Lallana in the side.

The club were going to sell him anyway, so Lallana could have shown some respect to the fans by biding his time. Instead, he has kicked those who idolised him most in the ******** and stripped Southampton fans of any pleasure they may have gained from watching him in the World Cup.

The transfer request is cruel and heartless and Lallana should be ashamed. He shouldn't be thinking of where he will be plying his trade next season anyway, he should be totally focused on helping England to win the World Cup. Just imagine for a moment the pride the fans of Southampton would have felt had Lallana, Shaw and Lambert done a Moore, Hurst and Peters; now any World Cup glory will be bitter sweet in deepest Hampshire.

Shame on you Lallana: the club may not deserve loyalty and respect after sacking Pochettino's predecessor, but the fans deserved better!

When you see fans of other clubs using words like SHAME ON YOU, it would appear that someone needs to give him a slap and get him a PR specialist pdq.

let him go, he WAS a hero to many but he is damaged goods. He will find it a lot harder in Liverpool if he doesnt make the grade or cant hack it. He has been able to be relaxed in our team as he is a 'star' but also not having the expectation and demands of Liverpool. I mentioned Mick Channon leaving us and never able to settle and i think AL will be the same up north.

Get the money and spend it wisely and we will soon forget him.

Tend to agree - At one time I was all for fighting to keep him but he does'nt seem bothered and is clearly chasing cash... Also agree that he is likely to be staring at the back of Roger's head more often than playing on the pitch... Let him go for the right fee and spend it well on others, and invest time and effort in developing young Harrison Reed

AL ..hugely disappointing attitude .. It's all gone to his head

We need to hold fast and not let Adam dictate anything. If he suddenly thinks he is bigger than the whole team then he needs a lesson and to be made an example of. This is business, you signed a contract, if liverpool dont think you are worth the money we want then tough ****, take it up with them. If what Guan says is true i'd minimum have his captaincy off him then bench him till his head returns to normal size even if it costs us long term. The other players need to be sent a message.

Totally agree. If we don't need the money refuse any offers out of hand and remind him of what the club has done for him, if he throws a strop let him train with the kids for a few weeks, and if his attitude still doesn't improve let him see out his contract there. That'll be his international career straight down the pan. Might send a message to a few others as well.

Question is, will he belt out the national anthem at the World Cup or have his head turn by another nation's tune?

(I'm here all week)

lol if england go out in group stages i can totally see him asking for switch to spain's team. He will deserve this move cos of his previous 26 yrs loyalty to england.
