Adam Lallana - Medical at Liverpool

Blackmore: "#saintsfc's reluctance to sell Lallana may have a lot to do with fact that actual guaranteed money offered by #lfc is well short of 25M"

"#saintsfc have to give 25% to #afcb when it completes - so if guaranteed is only say 15-20, #saintsfc end up well short of their valuation"

Crikey, if it's as low as £15-20m before Bournemouth's cut and Liverpool are trying to force the deal through on those terms we might just weather this fiasco.

I'm guessing a few million of the add-ons would be for standard stuff like appearances, but if Lallana has to win the Champions League for us to take home £18m for him then there's no chance.

If they are going to condition the fee in every way possible - still don't know what we got for Lambert -whether it's £2m + addons or £4m + addons and how achievable those addons are- then damn right we're going to dig our heels in rather than get a lesson in dippernomics.

Great article on Ugly Inside. Lallana has yet to state anything in public so we should give him the benefit of the doubt. But, if Liverpool have tapped him up - and clearly Hodgson is a part of this for whatever reason he may have - then the Club MUST COMPLAIN TO THE FA. Regardless, Hodgson and Liverpool are undermining what we can get for him by encouraging him to leave before the WC.

IF ,and I repeat IF, Lallana has said this then the Club must:

Examine all bids and sell him to whoever WE feel like - not Liverpool - AFTER our new manager has had a chance to assess Lallana and speak to him. Let's give him a chance. The longer Lallana plays in the WC the more bids we will get for him and better the deal we'll get for him. But - if he comes out with demands or requests a transfer sell to the highest bidder - not Liverpool.

UGLY INSIDE:

BBC Sport is stating that Adam Lallana is desperate to the leave the club before the World Cup with tweets suggesting that he is putting great pressure on the board to sell him quickly.

If these stories are true its a sad indictment on a player who has been a firm favourite with Saints fans and who seems to have quickly forgotten the loyalty the club and its supporters have shown him.

Lallana was quite keen to sign a lucrative 5 year contract a year ago, back then he wasn't in demand by anyone in the Premier league nor indeed England, in fact he himself could not see himself breaking into the World Cup squad as he scheduled his wedding for the middle of it.

Suddenly now Adam is desperate to leave and it "Has" to be before the World Cup starts, the reason why it has to happen so quickly is unclear, but certainly Lallana wil not be impressing Roy Hodgson who after stating he doesnt want transfer activity to disrupt his plans is suddenly finding that one of his players would rather spend some of his time whilst with the squad in Miami negotiating with his agent and leaving the camp for a medical rather than focusing on the next month with the England team and worrying about a transfer after he returns from Brazil.

One thing he seems to want to avoid though is putting in an actual transfer request, there is a practical reason for this and its all financial, if he is sold without putting in a request then he is entitled to various bonus's etc, however if he puts in a request then he has to forego those payments.

Reading between the lines Liverpool are trying to railroad Saints with the same tactics they used for Rickie Lambert, the difference is that the deal was too good for Saints and they didnt want to miss out, with Lallana and Luke Shaw for that matter its different, the club is in no hurry to sell and indeed a good World up for either could push up the price.

Ralph Krueger now has his chance to show his mettle, to show Saints fans what he may lack in football knowledge he more than makes up for in business acumen, it is imperative that Saints hold their ground, whatever Lallana or Liverpool say in the press.

For Saint fans its more than just seeing Lallana leave, most expect that to happen and although not happy see that it is part of the modern game, however the feel good factor this season has been to see four Saints players in line for Brazil, we were proud when three made it although this was tempered with sadness for Jay Rodriguez.

The transfer of Rickie Lambert did knock some of the stuffing out of Saints fans, although the gratitude for Rickie is still 99% intact there was a slight feeling that perhaps he and Liverpool could have hung on till after the World Cup and let us have a final great memory of Rickie as a Saints player.

With Adam the feeling was the same, so to see him brazenly demanding to leave is not only disapointing but a kick in the teeth for the supporters who have supported him so staunchly through thick and thin, yes he did stick with us through the dark days of dropping into League 1 and we appreciated that and we loved him for it, this is perhaps why its so hurtful to see him so desperate to leave now, perhaps he is fearful that Liverpool will look elsewhere, but he should have more confidence in his own ability, if they truly want him then they will wait a few weeks.

There are ways to do things as a player when you want to leave a club, those with decorum know what to say that keeps the fans supporting them even when they leave, that is why Rickie goes with the best wishes of us all ringing in our ears, Adam would have been better to concentrate on his England career first and then worrying about moving when he gets back, now he is losing the respect of the Saints fans as well as that I suspect of Roy Hodgson and that might just cost him a lot more in the long run than he may realise.

Great article - well said.

There will be another club who'll make a better offer. So we wait for the better offer and demonstrate we sell on our terms... Right Mr Krueger?

Peach claiming the add-ons are completely ludicrous in terms of their likelihood of occurring.

Yeah. Add-ons for winning trophies seem quite common but if that's all that would bring the fee close to our valuation it's a no-go. Maybe it's even more ludicrous than that - winning the World Cup? Doing a Bale and scoring in the CL final? Trademarking his own celebration gesture?

Indeed. The guy has only had one good season in the PL, so what are the chances of anything in that list happening?

What makes this whole saga even more annoying for me is when Lallana makes comments like this last year

"If someone was to say that I'd end my career playing for Southampton in the Premier League then I'd snap your hand off for it."

And now he want's out at all costs just because he has had one good season,I really don't get it,we have been through much sh11ter times at Southampton than this but yet the rats want to abandon ship.

We do not have a manager thats it,and if reports are true Koeman is at the very top of the list,he is no slouch he has a good record and fits the Southampton way very well imo,if I was a player at saints I would be relishing the chance of working with someone like that who on paper is a upgrade on Pochettino.

Do you know what' date=' I'm pretty fed up with this guy now. I'm starting to think it would be good for the club to get rid and move on[/quote']

I'm thinking this too. In fact maybe clearing the decks of all those who have developed egos wouldn't be a bad thing.

I get the feeling rather than cementing a strong team bond, Pooch has unsettled a few of our players.

Of that I have little doubt, but that's just an opinion. And he may be lurking in the weeds ready to pounce for a few of them.

For all his scintillating football, I wouldn't trust him as far as I can p*ss him, and as I can't even p*ss p*ss very far these days, that's not a long way.

Will be interesting to see who does follow him to Spurs. My guess not many at all

Can't wait until we get lallana i think brendan can improve him even more like studge. :D

He's going to Everton - we will sell him to his boyhood team, we always do. Once a blue always a blue....apparently.

Dig dig you mean his excellent contacts are the players . I doubt if he has or will have excellent contacts with the board in the future .

Excellent contact what crap . You can go to any journo you want with an story and if they make a few bob out of it they will publish it . Blackmore is no different it happens up and down the country . I have seen it up here in recent weeks. Far to easy to run to the press if you have a grievance or a Moan . Get the masses on your side . That's the way to go

Brenda's got quite a bit to prove in the transfer market - his record is patchy to say the least. Doesn't augur well for the summer, especially if suarez f**ks off to a bigger team.

Ahahahahahah.. That is cruel but it did make me laugh. I'm pretty sure there was just a massive misunderstanding at Liverpool. After beating City Brendan Rodgers said "I'm really pleased with the way they've played today, if only there was a way we could bottle it.."

My feeling in respect of Adam is he is caught between two positions. I don't get the feeling he is naturally confident guy and shuns the limelight. I get the feeling he is being pushed around. It is almost like he is waiting for the club to do something so he can then use it as an excuse. I'd also couple this with the fact that he is clearly worried that this 'chance' might not be available again, say in a years time.

I'd like him to stay. He is a quality footballer but just not handling this situation very well. Everyone entitled to a wobble.
