CB Fry Posted 2 June, 2014 Share Posted 2 June, 2014 Coming up on Talksport, Adrian Durham (yes you know what's coming) 1. Is Liverpool signing SRL a head's gone? 2. Are Saints being disrespectful to Lallana in not selling him? You couldn't make it up - but obviously Durham can. Durham - by - numbers, although I have no doubt that assorted forum idiots will take it as proof of anti - Saints bias in the media.

Weston Saint Posted 2 June, 2014 Share Posted 2 June, 2014 Thanks for all the comments and for kpturner trying to explain. As he said we both know Adams father and at this stage would not dream for asking him what is going on. It is private and a position he has not been in before. Even if he did say something, which he has not since the last game of the season, I would no longer post it. I have his email mobile and home number and address but now is not the time. I took the same line with Drew Surman when there was speculation. As for his Agent, I cannot remember his name but he is not connected to the family but a professional agent. No more comment from me on the subject as I have nothing further of interest or opinion on the subject.
derry Posted 2 June, 2014 Share Posted 2 June, 2014 I'm not sure how things stand these days but it used to be the case that a player received 5% of the transfer fee if they didn't ask for a transfer, and 0% if they did. Rickie supposedly "forced the board's hand" and it worked for him, so I fear that he and Lallana have been comparing tactical notes. But, in fairness, the Board (Rickie's case apart) has stuck to its word that nobody would leave until the new manager has arrived, so they probably have nothing to add to that in any phone conversation with Lallana. That said, in the interests of at least trying to avoid ill feeling, they (which means Reed) could have returned his call. Recruiting the new manager - I suspect and hope - is their sole focus right now because everything else flows from that. Bill, It may well be that Lallana was told that nobody was going until the new manager comes in and decides who he wants to keep. Therefore leading to reaction. I would have answered his call. It's the club's call. If they want to keep him it's up to them. He should have been asked how many more caps do you think you will get if there is a row and you aren't picked all season. He signed the five year contract and is well paid so he should honour that until LFC offer an acceptable fee. They are obviously stirring the pot and need a kick, Saints need to say LFC offers will not be considered if any more problems.
scotty Posted 2 June, 2014 Share Posted 2 June, 2014 Agree - also find it slightly odd why people are making a moral distinction between Lambert and Lallana. Because Lambert has made his dream move to his boyhood club, aged 32 and nearing the end of his career, so nobody here thinks any the worse of him for wanting to? Mind you, that begs the question of why there were so many Judas chants when Hoddle decamped for spurs. (I'm praying Dalek doesn't read this, the thread could run for years.) Saint Charlie Posted 2 June, 2014 Share Posted 2 June, 2014 Ben Smith from BBC just tweeted Lallana has asked to leave, but no formal transfer request yet Pretty obvious that was going to happen. Tough decision, can understand from AL's perspective but he was happy to sign a big contract so we should hold firm to get the fee we want. Sure it will all be resolved and will end with him leaving to join Liverpool for near enough what we want. Not much more the Club can do other than bargain hard. Saint Matty 76 Posted 2 June, 2014 Share Posted 2 June, 2014 Could not give a **** to be honest. Signs a 5 year deal and says he'll happily stay here for his career when he was just another player and now as soon as he's stepped up and shown some real ability he wants off at the first opportunity. Take the £25m and he can **** off, can get unbelievably talent from abroad with that sort of money; Roberto Firmino for example could command half that fee and is arguably just as good as Lallana is. Gutted to see him go but if he's going to start being such a whiny little ***** about this all then he can go **** himself.
doddisalegend Posted 2 June, 2014 Share Posted 2 June, 2014 Just for those not in the know what does a transfer request actually mean? I thought it meant that a player waived the right to his cut of the transfer money meaning that the club would get more money. However I'm sure someone said on this thread that doesn't apply any more. So what does a transfer request actually do? other than tell the club you want to leave. Does the club even have to accept it?

derry Posted 2 June, 2014 Share Posted 2 June, 2014 If a player is offered the chance to play in Europe and double his money it is very easy to wind him up if it looks like the move could be off. LFC and the LFC England players have this agenda and Hodgson needs to get a grip. If Adam get's too wrapped up in forcing a move he may well struggle. In the end it's up to SFC. Either way the BFC sell on isn't helping. Maybe BFC need to look at it as they might get nothing if we don't let him move.
