Baird of the land Posted 8 May, 2014 Share Posted 8 May, 2014 Sky Sports obviously trying to take everyone's minds off the silly FA B league stuff with nonsense speculation. Saint Charlie Posted 8 May, 2014 Share Posted 8 May, 2014 Suprised people can't see that this is actually very likely? Was clear at the Awards dinner that he at the very least has a decision to make. A move to Liverpool means CL footy next season at a club famous around the world. Fairly clear Saints ambitions have been somewhat toned down so now is the right time for him to move. Can see him coming back one day though but would be hugely suprised if he is still here in September.

shurlock Posted 8 May, 2014 Share Posted 8 May, 2014 If Liverpool have circa £30m+ to spend, you'd have thought they'd be better focusing it on their back 4 or even a long term replacement for Gerrard, attacking creativity from midfield hasn't exactly been their problem this season. True. That said, he does appear to do more closing down and defending from the front than your average Liverpool attacker. A very underrated part of his game. There are some things more important than playing for Liverpool and CL and family is one of those things. We all know, Saints isn't as famous as Liverpool, but we aren't some tin pot club. We pay decent wages - so Liverpool might offer £20-30k a week more, but I hardly think his wage at SFC is so bad that he has to leave. He can break into the England squad at SFC so that doesn't seem a problem at present. So maybe it is a question of family vs CL, as well as depending on the ambition of SFC. And it'snot like Liverpool are guaranteed CL every year.

Bewildered Posted 8 May, 2014 Share Posted 8 May, 2014 Lallana should be commanding a higher fee than anyone else at this club, even Shaw. Plays in a position that tends to command higher fees, contributes more to the team and at the beginning of his prime. £20 million would be an insult

cellone Posted 8 May, 2014 Share Posted 8 May, 2014 Forgot about Bournemouth. They could be in for £7.5m or more couldn't they. Huge deal for them, and rightly so to be fair. It would certainly be a welcome addition to the coffers for them. If they get a couple of decent players and a bit towards running costs it'll make that difference they're looking for. If it happened and they saw such a windfall disappear in running cost it would be a different story. There would put a massive amount of pressure on them to achieve promotion,

washsaint Posted 9 May, 2014 Share Posted 9 May, 2014 what a bunch of sqiunnying little girls on here. I would suggest some of you go and take a long lie down and stay away from these boards for the next 3 months. Of course other clubs covet our players: we've had a great season full of English talent. It is a sign of what we are doing right. Some players will stay, some will go and no doubt we will bring some in: that's the nature of the business. But I won't be running around crying "the sky is falling in" until we actually see a large number of our good players depart.....which I don't think will happen. Turkish Posted 9 May, 2014 Share Posted 9 May, 2014 A very good point. I am starting to wonder if it's a case of if we have him he can't play against us. Turkish Posted 9 May, 2014 Share Posted 9 May, 2014 I'm surprised this hasn't been dismissed a lies yet. Although it does strike me that so many rumours about so many of our players, even ones that have hardly played in the first team, are appearing in sources that only a few months ago were salivating over us and what we are doing. It strikes me as mischief making behind the scenes with someone trying to. Stir things up and unsettle us. Maybe the dwarf was right about dark sources after all.....
