Adam Lallana - Medical at Liverpool

Dr Who?

Suprised people can't see that this is actually very likely? Was clear at the Awards dinner that he at the very least has a decision to make.

A move to Liverpool means CL footy next season at a club famous around the world.

Fairly clear Saints ambitions have been somewhat toned down so now is the right time for him to move.

Can see him coming back one day though but would be hugely suprised if he is still here in September.

I remember thinking the same about Wayne.

If Liverpool have circa £30m+ to spend, you'd have thought they'd be better focusing it on their back 4 or even a long term replacement for Gerrard, attacking creativity from midfield hasn't exactly been their problem this season.

True. That said, he does appear to do more closing down and defending from the front than your average Liverpool attacker. A very underrated part of his game.

Yes, maybe, but as I asked, what about his wife & kid? There are some things more important than playing for Liverpool and CL and family is one of those things. We all know, Saints isn't as famous as Liverpool, but we aren't some tin pot club. We pay decent wages - so Liverpool might offer £20-30k a week more, but I hardly think his wage at SFC is so bad that he has to leave. He can break into the England squad at SFC so that doesn't seem a problem at present. So maybe it is a question of family vs CL, as well as depending on the ambition of SFC. And it'snot like Liverpool are guaranteed CL every year.

He can double his family income which Im sure his Wife and little lad would also benefit hugely from.

In many aspects its a no brainer for him. Apart from his relationship with Saints, which is the only reason its even a decision.

Wait and see about saints ambitions before you try selling our players please. Never seen so many saints fans getting excited about a player leaving.

Not excited, far from it. Just realistic.

As for ambition, if the Manager won't commit then what does that suggest?

Lallana should be commanding a higher fee than anyone else at this club, even Shaw.

Plays in a position that tends to command higher fees, contributes more to the team and at the beginning of his prime.

£20 million would be an insult

Its a career and going to Liverppol enhances it, it will double his wage, if its on the table he is gone.

Any advances on £105m.

For that we'll throw Jonno Quick in.

It's gone up again, £125m or nothing now.

Seriously though - if true this seems tantamount to tapping up

Yes, he's good at that, and it is useful, but the point still stands, if Liverpool have that kind of money to chuck around, I think they'd be better off focusing it elsewhere.

I would be pleasantly suprised. But he hasn't as yet so when players get offers would he be persuading them to turn them down and stay here?

Who is actually telling the players what the ambitions are?

Wenger hasn't committed to arsenal yet! A lot of managers do it. He may have told them he will and it's not a big deal? Reed, Kruger who knows?

Just imagine him holding up another clubs kit. Devastating thought. :'(

Give it a miss Fella. I hadn't even thought of that moment. You %@&&£$ you. You. Shaky fist ala Frank Spencer. Garrett you are a git.

Forgot about Bournemouth. They could be in for £7.5m or more couldn't they. Huge deal for them, and rightly so to be fair.

It would certainly be a welcome addition to the coffers for them. If they get a couple of decent players and a bit towards running costs it'll make that difference they're looking for. If it happened and they saw such a windfall disappear in running cost it would be a different story. There would put a massive amount of pressure on them to achieve promotion,

They have huge debts...... whatever they get from the deal will be swallowed up.

Wow, why's everyone getting so worked about this? Lallana is obviously going to leave, so why the outrage at a team who will be playing in the Champions League showing an interest?

I'm yet to see any 'outrage'.

what a bunch of sqiunnying little girls on here. I would suggest some of you go and take a long lie down and stay away from these boards for the next 3 months.

Of course other clubs covet our players: we've had a great season full of English talent. It is a sign of what we are doing right. Some players will stay, some will go and no doubt we will bring some in: that's the nature of the business.

But I won't be running around crying "the sky is falling in" until we actually see a large number of our good players depart.....which I don't think will happen.

A very good point. I am starting to wonder if it's a case of if we have him he can't play against us. The only megateam that really needs Adam or the like is united.

edit. Just thought about this a little more and thought depth of squad.

Except they don't as they've recently spent over £30m on a similar type player.

I'm surprised this hasn't been dismissed a lies yet. Although it does strike me that so many rumours about so many of our players, even ones that have hardly played in the first team, are appearing in sources that only a few months ago were salivating over us and what we are doing. It strikes me as mischief making behind the scenes with someone trying to. Stir things up and unsettle us. Maybe the dwarf was right about dark sources after all.....

If that's the case then he would be off even NC had stayed if our players want to play CL football at a world famous club we aren't going to hold on to them no matter what the boards ambition is. This constant undertone on here that this wouldn't be happening if NC was still here is so much bollix.

Blatant tapping-up using the media. Hard to prove, of course.

Fed up with this sh*t already. Going to be a long summer.

20m just demonstrates the sheer arrogance of the big clubs.

If this happens, we will know EXACTLY where we are with the new board.

Very, very fed up. All this sh*t about nothing ever happens before a World Cup, seems like that is b*ll*cks when its our players being touted around by the media.

If he were to leave why move before World Cup? Have a good one and you will be able to demand more wages etcc..

I think he will finish the season, have a hat with the family to go through his options and then go off to the World Cup. Why jump on the first bid made, he is an Everton fan after all........

You know for certain this is coming from Liverpool? It's not like Lallana is our only player being linked with a move to a bigger club. In recent weeks we've had Rodriguez, Shaw, Chambers, Schnidelin, Wanyama, even Harrison Reed linked with moves away reported all in the same media outlets. The same ones that were gushing with praise of us only a few months back. Bit of a coincidence?

I don't think this is naive at all. It is a fair point.

The loyalty of MLT is often mentioned but the only reason he didn't sign for Spurs was because his (then) wiife didn't want to move to London.

I think the sun are basing the Liverpool comments on Adams words at the award ceremony about scoring at Liverpool . To create this story

If he goes there . He will be a squad player and his career will go backward .

Personally I think it's is just scare mongering . He's worth far more than 20 million

Not strictly true. Initially yes but later on in his career stayed for other reasons.
