Gorgiesaint Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Talksport confirming deal done... in excess of £30m.
St Marco Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Gutted that he has gone but if a player wants to leave then not much you can do sadly. Hopefully the club stay true to their word and re-invest all the money from transfers to strengthen the team this season.
Brave Sir Robin Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 No word of Hernandez coming the other way? Boooo!
Saint Charlie Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Alex Crook said he was going to United way back.
wheels Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Deal is done, his twitter profile states "Professional footballer at Man Utd..." changed from "Professional footballer at Southampton"
ianthesaint Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Hate to say I did say this pre World Cup 3 installments of £10 million, has been agreed in principal before the World Cup started.
Saints foreva Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 I hope we don't get a bull**** goodbye message from him like we did with Pochettino.
angelman Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Gutted? Not at all, as I have been supporting Saints for quite a few more years than he's been alive, and will hopefully still be here when he's hung up his boots. Preferred to have kept him, sure, but £30m+ is £30m+. Close the book now, and move on.
Window Cleaner Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Hate to say I did say this pre World Cup 3 installments of £10 million, has been agreed in principal before the World Cup started. But the manager decided on that right, well perhaps not the never-never payment plan but on the fact that Shaw could go...Manager wasn't fussed about him, why should we be.
SuperSAINT Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Alex Crook said he was going to United way back. LOL. Has he done one of his "As I said...." tweets yet?
Batman Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 well, that is that £30m for an 18 year old left back with 1 season under his belt. if he wanted to go, that is one hell of a fee..... will be mightily disappointed if we dont have a transfer fund north of £50m now
Saint Charlie Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 LOL. Has he done one of his "As I said...." tweets yet? I'm sure its being typed as we speak.
Minty Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 S'funny, Shaw has now deleted his 'Man U player' twitter biog... cue panic from Man U fans. lol
GarrettIvo Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 FUnny his Twitter bio went from Saints, to MUFC, to now nothing. Maybe they are loaning him back for a year! #obviouslynot Whatever life and club go on. No need for all the emotion I reckon. Part of the corruption of world football.
lifeintheslowlane Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Right...now that we've closed this issue it's all over to the "Transfers (rumours) Thread" to check on the incoming.
RedWillie Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 The crazy football bubble world, totally out of touch with reality Ridiculous sum of money.
Saint Charlie Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Right...now that we've closed this issue it's all over to the "Transfers (rumours) Thread" to check on the incoming. There is also my bedwetter thread about how many players will leave this summer, incase you are interested. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?50757-Two-gone-how-many-to-follow
Olallana Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 So Luke changed his twitter before it is official..... Well there was a reason why Ward-Prowse won the scholarship award last year despite Luke being superior on the pitch I guess....
angelman Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 If he's gone can we now move on? I agree. We've still got Lallana and Lovren to really get off the ground.
TwoPints Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Those cheeky chaps at Man U didn't miss a trick with the medical did they? Lol
ericofarabia Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Sky say it's done. Five year deal. Lovely jubbly ... hope we have got a decent Sell On percentage as he jets off to Real Madrid or Barcelona next summer to fulfill his dream of Champs League Football, as Man re have another terrible season ;-)
Um Bongo Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Well we move on. Hopefully he saves the 'I owe myself to southampton' ********. Got faith in Koeman who will pick a more then able replacement. £30m for a 18 year old is crazy money - However its our crazy money.
Isla Wight Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 When you consider that ML purchased the whole club for circa £13 Million financially it's a great deal
TwoPints Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Check out @SimonPeach's Tweet: Does this mean the next transfer out is about to hit the news?
Toon Saint Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 So Luke changed his twitter before it is official..... Well there was a reason why Ward-Prowse won the scholarship award last year despite Luke being superior on the pitch I guess.... He's a good lad but not the brightest of sparks when compared to the likes of JWP, Chambers, and Sam McQueen, and no coincidence they nicknamed him 'dopey' when growing up. Don't ever get the sense Luke had the same attachment to Saints as some of the lads in his age group, which is probably no surprise given that he grew up as Chelsea fan living close to their training ground. His family seemed a bit too invested in the myth of Cortese as well and there were rumours about his agent trying to insert some clause in Luke's contract that if NC left then so could Luke. Remember his Dad also sparking off on twitter about the new board having no ambition or vision when Cortese resigned, so you got the sense that it's not just his agent that would have been pushing the move. Still, not sure any of us could say we would turn down £100,000 a week as an 18 year old. Shame he couldn't have stayed another couple of years and given us back a bit more for the 10 years spent developing his talent, but good luck to him.
JakkoUK Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Looks like Lallana is going today as well! Haha Simon Peach @SimonPeach 8m "Ever heard the phrase it never rains but it pours?"
Tokyo-Saint Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 So Luke changed his twitter before it is official..... Well there was a reason why Ward-Prowse won the scholarship award last year despite Luke being superior on the pitch I guess.... Twitter skills is a vital part of the evaluation as well as potential 3-somes and snap chat nudes.
Pancake Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Yes Lallana by the end of the day. Not really a shock. AL will be more gutting than Shaw.
Matthew Le God Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Looks like Lallana is going today as well! Haha Simon Peach @SimonPeach 8m "Ever heard the phrase it never rains but it pours?" He is currently in Brazil, he might just be talking about the weather.
Leslie Charteris Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 So, how many of the Dutch squad will we be able to afford as replacements? (I was thinking defenders or midfielders, but a couple of their strikers CDAJFU!)
Olallana Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 So, how many of the Dutch squad will we be able to afford as replacements? (I was thinking defenders or midfielders, but a couple of their strikers CDAJFU!) I´ll take De Vrij, Martins Indi, Depay and Clasie please.
Leslie Charteris Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 I´ll take De Vrij, Martins Indi, Depay and Clasie please. Blind could fit in nicely, too.
TwoPints Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Yes Lallana by the end of the day. Did he get off the plane in Manchester too, or did they divert to John Lennon International to drop him and Lambert off?
ART Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 This move makes me puke, in particular, how it's come about. At least Luke and Ads allowed the club to parade for posterity the names of 2 Saints players at the World Club. From Guan's indications he hasn't till now been allowed to tell us everything on Shaw, I hope he will finally let us know all the ins and outs behind the scenes. Something happened in those closing days of last season. Something I believe that effected several players and made Pochettino decide to leave a couple of weeks later. ARTOVISIONS view on things. Tomorrow is the New Moon, Shaw should have held off a day before signing to improve his future plans. At this time, one of the most auspicious indications in Astrology, is the period each year or so, when the Planet Saturn appears to reverse it's path in the sky. This is known as Saturn in Retrograde. Saturn dictates Karma in our lives. It is a time of delay, reflection, of putting in order past mistakes, errors. coming to terms with problems. Saturn went into retrograde on March 2nd and won't turn direct till the 20th July. It is a time when one should avoid all new ventures, not to sign new contracts, launch any financial changes. For Mister Shaw, his impatience to get away from the mouth that has fed him, from the people who made him, gave him a huge chance, will have his just rewards. Karma is about to teach him a huge lesson.
TwoPints Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana set to complete £25m move to #lfc. Talks now at advanced stage, could even be completed today. — John Percy (@John__Percy) June 27, 2014
Bearsy Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Hope we do push lallana through today, it would be nice to f*ck up both liverpool & man utd by getting this done before full moon + while saturn is still retrobate
trousers Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Just over 6 months ago..... "[h=1]Luke Shaw says Saints are the club for him"[/h] [video=youtube_share;GG1GERe6M8o] Funny how things change so quickly sometimes....
Jimmy_D Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Despite all the media announcements, nothing actually officially announced yet. Few rumors floating about (nothing reliable) that Chelsea tried to/are trying to hijack the deal. About as much chance as Suarez turning vegetarian, but would be quite funny if it happened.

Saints foreva Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Despite all the media announcements, nothing actually officially announced yet. The club are probably waiting for the Lallana sale to go through so they can announce them both at the same time.

Your average footballer will say anything, probably even believes it to be true, until he gets a better offer that is.
trousers Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Time for Jay Rod to have his own 'transfer rumours' thread too? Simon Peach @SimonPeach Over the last 24 hours Jay Rodriguez has gone from 7/4 to odds on with @SkyBet to move to #THFC. Just going to put that out there...
angelman Posted 27 June, 2014 Posted 27 June, 2014 Oh **** it. I'm off and will be back when we have sold all the players and bought a new squad.
