Sam Gallagher to gills on a season long loan

My gillingham supporting mate has said it's been in their local papers of a season long loan for Sam Gallagher. Anyone else heard this, thought he was knocking quite loudly on the first teams door.

Strange given how close he is to the first team relative to the other Academy players and everything Reed has said about the loan system. But nothing would surprise me.

I'm not sure the club are even looking at loanees out for next season yet, just a small matter of the summer transfer window with maybe the chance of a new manager search first!

Very unlikely in my opinion. End of the season doesn't seem the time to commit to loaning a player out, especially one who's been in the first team starting line up several times as well as a regular sub. I'd expect the manager to assess all his first team squad in pre-season before deciding if any are surplus to requirements for next season.
