Thanks for nothing then.........only goatsboy, I think, signed.(thanks:)).......30 plus Palace fans signed, over 45 Hull fans signed and over a 100 Sunderland fans signed. Heck, even got a handful of Stokies to sign but only 1 person on here. Never mind.... you'll soon know what it's like to have your club ripped apart when half your squad and your manager leave in the summer and you end up relegated...Maybe then you'll have a bit more humility and sympathy towards others.

Not a single cardiff fan spoke up when we were raped of our stripes. What goes around, comes around.

" you'll soon know what it's like to have your club ripped apart when half your squad and your manager leave in the summer and you end up relegated" ... I think we may have experienced this in the not so distant past.

Funny you guys weren't complaining on promotion, it was all celebrations and pitch invasions?

200 fans from the collective Premier League clubs is really going to shake Vincent into changes his mind :mcinnes:

And thanks for your kind words, when it comes to meltdowns we really struggle here it seems.

Well I was going to sign it (maybe) but with that attitude, you can in the politest way go **** yourself. Boils down to the fact that it isn't your company and you are but a customer. If you don't like the way the company is run and the product on offer, then don't give them your money. And of all the away fans at SMS this season, I think that Cardiff must have ranked as the most unattractive.

Of course you were......You can hardly blame me for my so called unkind words. Look at what was written when all I did was politely ask if people would at least consider signing. If people didn't want to sign, no problem but there was no need for the childish comments that were then aimed at the club. ( the first few replies.)

I don't know what you mean when you say that Cardiff fans must have ranked as the most unattractive at your stadium? That's a very vague thing to write. Did they cause problems? I don't believe so. As for those who say that a petition won't have any effect well guess what? Vincent Tan has said over the weekend that he will consider a return to the blue but first he wants to concentrate on getting back to the PL ....Not ideal but it's a start...the first chinks in his armour so to speak. This petition has been backed by the local newspaper and that carries a lot of pull........... Lots of you will, no doubt, not give a toss...As I said, fine, it's a democracy but if you're then going to sla* of Cardiff then i'm going to respond. I was on your sight asking for help, that's all.

Bloo - I think you need to understand who you are asking to support your petition and give it time. I also think you could have been more careful with the name of your petition and the way you presented it. Let me explain...

1. You have asked us to sign a petition entitled 'alwaysbeblue'. As a club that plays in red you are kind of asking us to sell our souls in the way that Vincent Tan has sold your souls. If it doesn't work for you, why expect us to do something very similar?!

2. To add to this you also have to understand that Southampton FC has one of the most bitter local rivalries in sport with a hatred for our near neighbours P*mpey - a team that emphasises itself as a club that play in blue. So not only are you asking us to declare that red is bad, but you also want us to sign to say that blue is better! That is not just selling our souls but downright pimping them!

3. You launched your petition to us at 8pm and then at 10pm, after only two hours, you decided that you have given us long enough to read and respond to it and react to a few who made critical comments, in a completely ungracious manner, completely undermining any desire you may have to reach out to Saints fans for our support.

4. You then proceed to show complete ignorance of the fact that Southampton FC went into administration a few years ago and yet show no empathy for the predicament we have faced in recent years and our own frustrations about playing in the 'wrong colours'.

So let me make some suggestions..

1. Change the name/wording of the petition to something like 'Let fans of Cardiff City support their team fully by playing in their traditional colours.' Most Saints fans will identify with that wording far more readily.

2. Allow time for Saints fans to respond. This should be at least a day if not several. 'Bump' the thread occasionally to keep it current.

I hope this helps and that it yields a much better response than you have had so far.

Goatboy will sign any old petition you put in front of him. If it'd been a make Cardiff play in red petition he would have signed it just the same. He's indiscriminate!

Well that sounds reasonable if only it wasn't completely factually inaccurate!!!!!! I posted it in another section at first and only a handful of people looked at it so I moved it this section on the 10th of May.....I then commented at the lack of interest and rude replies on the evening of the 13th May!!!! If my maths are correct, that is a gap of 3 days.... So where did you get this 'only giving us 2 hours to respond stuff from' !!:mcinnes::rolleyes:

No, I had no idea you went into administration. All the more reason I would have thought to help another team that asked for that help. As for not supporting blue because it's Portsmouth's colours...I can only assume your tongue was very firmly in your cheek:p

By way of return, anything you can do to reduce the somewhat spunky flavour of Welsh lamb will be appreciated.

Let's be honest Bloo, you couldn't give a monkey's about SFC, it's fans and any issues past or present. I don't blame you as I don't particularly care what other clubs get up to, especially those in the PL - 1st world problems. So saying that you are disappointed that we here do not have the same passion as you do for your petition is somewhat naive and ever so slightly hypocritical.

What thoughts??? Being sanctimonious and self righteous while being factually incorrect and not being able to read dates accurately!!:o By the way, because your club went into administration I have, as a generous Welshman, decided to subscribe to this sight, as every little helps. I know my fiver is meant to maintain this sight but feel free to pass it on the club (although come the new season you should have quite a few quid after selling most of your team:D ...joke :p

I would if someone came in and threatened its status and security, of course I would. I wasn't aware of past problems because, let's be honest, when a club disappears from the top flight, it's almost as if they have disappeared from the footballing world and so receive scant media attention. I remember the Saints when I was a youngster, Kevin Keegan and Mick Channon. I even used to copy his goalscoring celebration :p ...Loved the Dell as well.

I think Cardiff have bigger issues than the colour of the shirt. The high level of spending on players on were not up to par, the tyrannical despotic chairman, the public slanging match between former manager and chairman, the hiring of an inept current manager... we would sympathise with you on these issues...but having to wear a red shirt? No. Irrelevant. Playing in blue won't get you automatic promotion next season. Control the controllables, as philosopher Nigel Adkins, used to say.

Well maybe my PL Forum.... I need to get my £5 quids worth:smug:.. You'll have to go some to beat the Sunderland Forum, mind. They are a really nice, welcoming bunch. People up North are very similar to the Welsh...sort of old-fashioned in a good way and community minded. (even use the same sort of dialect, like) :) But I'm willing to give you southern softies a chance:p:o

Cheers......I would love to see you wearing the stripes. The Saints and W.B.A used to be my all time favourite strips. Ironic considering they are now talking about changing their kit as well. When you came up a couple of seasons ago, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The club changed a famous, iconic strip for a non-descript, bland, nothingness. I wonder at the mentality of those who run our football clubs. It's almost as if they deliberately want to antagonise with no benefit to it. A football kit is the outward identity of your tradition and history. I can't understand those who don't see it that way

Oo Err. I'd have thought bottom blood and semen mixed together would be stripey, surely?

This is indeed a difficult petition to sign, as blue is the colour of our arch rivals. Anyway Tan seems to me like the kind of bloke that loves to be loved, so surely it'll only be a matter of time before he switches back. Besides, wasn't the change to red supposed to be a lucky thing? It didn't really make a difference in the end.
