david in sweden Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 Brighton v. Derby tonight. ...always had a soft spot for Derby, but never liked Brighton that much.....(even if they are closer geographically). Not too bothered either way, but if Brighton do get up....it'll be good to beat them once in a while.....or, for as long as they stay up.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 **** Derby. Wonder if they'll be trying to injure Brighton's best players.
Toon Saint Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 Got quite a few friends who are Brighton S/T holders - would love to renew the rivalry next season. Horrid memories of the play-off semi-final at Pride Park. Great game, but Derby hacked us to pieces in the first leg and if weren't for the spectacular Leon Best OG we would have gone through. Their fans at the end were right ***ts as well.

Remember it well and was very unimpressed. But, I'm a bit of a traditionalist and fan of successful and traditional clubs, so will be supporting derby. Brighton are not a premier league club (and neither are Wigan) so derby or qpr for me, and for obvious reasons I'd rather it be derby than qpr.
CB Fry Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 **** Derby. Wonder if they'll be trying to injure Brighton's best players. Jesus Christ. Get over it. Derby all the way for me, would love to see them go up
igsey Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 Anybody but QPR. Given the choice, I'd like Derby to win the playoffs.
angelman Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 I still think that the play offs are ridiculous dreamt up by greedy suits trying to squeeze every last drop out of the game. FFS they have played 46 games to decide the league. If they have to stay, I would change things and say that if any team was 10 points or more behind 3rd place, then they would not be included in the play offs. That would exclude both Wigan & Brighton from this years POs leaving Derby and Wigan to decide it. I don't know what the biggest gap between 3rd and 6th is, but presume a lot more than the 13 points this season, and I am not sure how many 6th places get promoted.

The team finishing highest in the league (third) has succeeded in winning promotion ten times out of twenty seven seasons up to 2013, with 4th managing four promotions, 5th seven and 6th five.
Gis Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 What's with all the empty seats? Amazed that this isn't a sell out.
doddisalegend Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 I'm just gutted for Nigel that Reading missed out to Brighton in such a dramatic way. I think Brighton would get stuffed in the PL, not sure they have the money to strengthen the team that much, so bring them on and guarantee us 6pts next season.
Chewy Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 Impressed with the derby keeper. If they don't go up can we have him? Also, much lol at Derbys second goal.

I'd deffo rather have Reading than Brighton in the play offs, but this was rather funny :/ Anyways though by the looks of it Derby should progress to the final. I forgot, is there away goals in these play offs?
Chewy Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 Don't think theres away goals. What were the two results when we went to pens with derby?
LGTL Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 Don't think theres away goals. What were the two results when we went to pens with derby? Lost 1-2 at home and 'won' 2-3 away.
Chewy Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 Lost 1-2 at home and 'won' 2-3 away. So no away goals then. Thought so. I don't want to think about that play off any more ...
Edmonton Saint Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 Anyone but QPR. Will then look forward to the financial meltdown as good old Arry walks away leaving another club in a complete mess....
Ziggy Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 What's with all the empty seats? Amazed that this isn't a sell out. Unbelievable isn't it??
angelman Posted 8 May, 2014 Posted 8 May, 2014 Anyone but QPR. Will then look forward to the financial meltdown as good old Arry walks away leaving another club in a complete mess.... Isn't there some huge fine lingering should they get promoted? £50m for having loses of £65m.
angelman Posted 9 May, 2014 Posted 9 May, 2014 What's with all the empty seats? Amazed that this isn't a sell out. Wigan's crowd is even more pathetic. 0-0 at HT
nta786 Posted 9 May, 2014 Posted 9 May, 2014 Wigan's crowd is even more pathetic. 0-0 at HT as long as wigan win this tie, who cares. tbf wigan are a really small town.
Dr Who? Posted 9 May, 2014 Posted 9 May, 2014 Terrible game of football. I am going for a Wigan v Brighton final. So get your money on a QPR v Derby final.
S-Clarke Posted 11 May, 2014 Posted 11 May, 2014 Wow, Derby absolutely toasted Brighton tonight. I'll tell you what, looking at someone to replace Morgan (if that does happen) then Hughes would be a fair old shout...
S-Clarke Posted 11 May, 2014 Posted 11 May, 2014 I thought Will Hughes was a winger? Nope, an AMC style player first and foremost.
SuperSAINT Posted 11 May, 2014 Posted 11 May, 2014 I'll tell you what, looking at someone to replace Morgan (if that does happen) then Hughes would be a fair old shout... +1. Not sure he's a straight Morgan-esque type player but he's certainly worth keeping an eye on - His goal was quality. Very talented for an 18 year old.
angelman Posted 12 May, 2014 Posted 12 May, 2014 QPR had 80% possession in the first 10 mins of 2nd half - seems only a matter of time until they score
Sour Mash Posted 12 May, 2014 Posted 12 May, 2014 Good game this. Two pretty strong teams to just be scrapping it out in the Championship play offs.
Batman Posted 12 May, 2014 Posted 12 May, 2014 Scott carsen has played very well. Looks like a top keeper he threatened to be
Olallana Posted 12 May, 2014 Posted 12 May, 2014 Tbh Clattenburgh is having a good game.....I guess Championship is his level
dubai_phil Posted 12 May, 2014 Posted 12 May, 2014 Tbh Clattenburgh is having a good game.....I guess Championship is his level ^like
Dark Munster Posted 12 May, 2014 Posted 12 May, 2014 I have to reluctantly cheer on Derby now. At least Billy the Bastard isn't their manager.
Goatboy Posted 13 May, 2014 Posted 13 May, 2014 I know it's wrong but I'm kind of hoping QPR go up. I know, I know! But I think they'll get absolutely mugged in the Premier League. They'll waste even more money on a load of dross, Harry will be sacked/retired by Christmas and they'll go straight back down again. Lols. Also, we could buy Will Hughes from Derby.
