An epic crash.

2 games ago it was theirs. Now it's gone.

But to be honest, when you have the likes of skrtel and Johnson in their back 4, then they really shouldn't have had a chance. The quality of their defence is a joke for a team at the top of the league.

Well done City anyway, by far and away the best squad in the league, so well deserved.

City were playing unbelievable stuff a while ago. Lose Aguero and Negredo loses form, it becomes tough to win in style.

I don't buy into the whole 'but they bought the title' nonsense. a) it's not that easy, and b) so did blackburn, man utd, arsenal and chelsea. get over it.

I'm just annoyed I only put £20 on Man City before the Liverpool-Chelsea game.

I think Pelligrini has done a decent job with them this year, he hasn't spend a fortune to be honest, but has managed to sort out their weaknesses. Most of their quality has come from the guys who were there before, so he's just managed to get more out of what was there.

Well deserved league for them, I think.

Agreed it's a bit early to write Liverpool off, and it's weird to see their players crying after going top of the league again. Villa are no slouches away from home (as we found out) and Big Fat Sam's team know how to park the bus (as we and Chelski found out). Whereas Liverpool should have no problem dispatching a poor Newcastle side.

I know the press have a big love in with BR but he blew it tonight. They were never ever going to make up 9 goals, so the only way they could win it is a city balls up. If you picked any midtable team to help you out it would be west ham. They're quite capable of parking the bus and pinching a 0-0. At 3-0 BR should have seen the game out, tightened up and taken the 3 points. It was as if they thought " we've got 3,lets go for 6" to try and close the gap. Never in a million years , would they have closed that gap. The only chance was take the 3 points and hope west ham or villa (who are capable on their day) do them a favour. The nerves may have got to city, a dodgy refereeing display, anything. Rank poor management and being unprofessional cost them. They took liberties and got caught out.

I had a sneaky bet on Chelsea at 7-1 last week, as I felt city may draw with west ham , ****ing Norwich cost me that, otherwise they'd be right back in it. City won't blow it now, the pressures off. Even if west ham park the bus, city will take a 0-0 and move onto Sunday. Desperation makes players act stupid and they dont need a win.

Liverpool have royally screwed up the best chance for a generation. It'll be a hell of a lot tougher next year.

Palace could finish top half on Sunday. That's quite an achievement from where they were. Never really liked Pulis's style at Stoke, but he's certainly done a job at Palace.

That'll be why UEFA decided today their CL squad will 4 players light and their owners 50m lighter, wont it...

Interesting, but surely a bigger punishment would have been a transfer ban? Fining a PL champion £50m is loose change to them and doesn't actually help the route course...as they'd still be losing money! £50m doesn't really set much of a marker though. A much better punishment is a transfer ban for 2 seasons, as by failing the FPP they have shown that they've been unable to operate responsibly in the market....so they should be stopped from being allowed to operate in it!

To be honest, Man City will probably say..look, we'll chuck you another £15m, let us have a full CL squad next year....''Oh OK City, thank you'' will most probably be the response.

A financial punishment for clubs like City and PSG is kind of a let off to be honest.

Indeed. I'd assume winning the Premier League is worth more than 50million anyway.

Or it could be the 60 million € fines and transfers restricted to one star player but no-one else and reduced salary mass. That's what they're predicting for PSG around this way. Plus the 21 players for the CL instead of 25 of course.

Up to 60 million euros, but not to increase total salarial CL mass in any way whatsoever. If he's on 200K a week then they have to shed 200K a week within their 21/25 man CL nominated group. It's apparently what they've negociated with UEFA.

I don't think I could stand the nausea if Liverpool won the league. Months and months of 'the spirit of Shankly', 'we did it for the 96' and 'greatest fans in the world'.

Defensively, they just haven't been good enough. I would take our back four over theirs any day.

City have 1 and a half hands on the trophy now. Won 4-0 tonight and have gone 2 pts clear with 1 game to play, at home...against WHU. I think we all know where this is going to end!

Also Sunderland won again....incredible really. Norwich relegated tonight, which is staggering really considering their transfer policy was amazing and we let ourselves down by not following them, or something.

Just saw a replay of the Liverpool goals. My God, the arrogance when they scored. Instead of celebrations (especially after the 3rd) they rush to pick up the ball from the net for a quick restart: in a hurry to get another, typically what teams do when scoring but still behind, not when winning. I bet that disrespect fired up the Palace players, and no wonder they surged back in the last 10 minutes.

This. So keen were they to improve their goal difference but they whacked everyone forward which left them exposed at the back on the counter. Palace score, and they kept going for it. Then Palace scored again. At 3-2 it only takes 1 goal, however it goes in to turn 3 points into 1. That happened, and the title race is over.

Respect to Palace though. Zip to play for and they turned up. This "players are already on the beach" thing is nonsense, as Saints have shown of late.
