ecuk268 Posted 5 May, 2014 Posted 5 May, 2014 So there's this guy serving a 27-year sentence for various violent robberies and is let out on parole in 2001. 3 weeks into his parole, he commits the first of a further 13 robberies of banks and building societies (including one in Bishops Waltham where he hits a 73-year old woman over the head with a pistol). When he's caught, he gets 13 concurrent life sentences. Some bright spark thinks it's good idea to transfer him to an open prison and then let him out for a short period. Not surprisingly, he does a runner and is now being hunted by the police. What planet are these people on? I expect that, if there's an enquiry, they'll say that "lessons have been learned", so that's all right then. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/11191897.Armed_robber_on_the_run_struck_in_Hampshire/
mightysaints Posted 5 May, 2014 Posted 5 May, 2014 Lefty do gooders running the Judicial system say no more
SuperMikey Posted 5 May, 2014 Posted 5 May, 2014 Lefty do gooders running the Judicial system say no more How astute of you to observe that every single person who has a say in running the judicial system is a "lefty". That must be what the issue is!
buctootim Posted 5 May, 2014 Posted 5 May, 2014 Lefty do gooders running the Judicial system say no more Bit harsh on Chris Grayling, he's been a Tory Minister / frontbencher for years.

mightysaints Posted 7 May, 2014 Posted 7 May, 2014 (edited) Some criminals must never be let out. 13 life sentences must mean jail 4 life. Edited 7 May, 2014 by mightysaints
Whitey Grandad Posted 7 May, 2014 Posted 7 May, 2014 Some criminals must never be let out. 13 life sentences must mean jail 4 life. And the next 12 lives too.
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 7 May, 2014 Posted 7 May, 2014 They should lock up the person who signed the open prison paperwork until he's caught and locked up again. That should deter the liberals from being quite so flippant about the safety of the British public.

andysstuff Posted 7 May, 2014 Posted 7 May, 2014 Police hunting him ate investigating a robbery on a building society. Doesn't look like this bloke knows the meaning of lying low. http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/may/07/skull-cracker-robbery-building-society-sunbury-michael-wheatley Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Whitey Grandad Posted 7 May, 2014 Posted 7 May, 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-27315001 Does that prove that prison doesn't work?
Halo Stickman Posted 7 May, 2014 Posted 7 May, 2014 Does that prove that prison doesn't work? Described his occupation as ‘bank robber’, didn’t he? Looks like prison didn’t set back his career plans.
Whitey Grandad Posted 7 May, 2014 Posted 7 May, 2014 Described his occupation as ‘bank robber’, didn’t he? Looks like prison didn’t set back his career plans. That reminds me of the football chairman who had built his business from scratch after several spells in prison. The prison chaplain had suggested that he should run his own company and when he had answered that he wouldn't be any good at it was told 'Well, you're no good at robbery are you?'
Barry Sanchez Posted 7 May, 2014 Posted 7 May, 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-27305157 The law is an absolute joke, 4 years for this? A punch leading to the death of someone should recieve a far harder sentence.
