niemi14 Posted 3 May, 2014 Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Premier League - 28 apps and 14 clean sheets (with 1 game to go). Fantastic achievement. Is this the most clean sheets we have kept in Premier League? Well done Artur!
S-Clarke Posted 3 May, 2014 Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Great record, not just down to Artur though - a real team effort.
niemi14 Posted 3 May, 2014 Author Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Definitely not all down to Boruc. The back four and Wanyama in particular and tightened us up a lot. The Lovren/Fonte partnership is solid too.
SaintAmongSkates Posted 3 May, 2014 Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Would still consider making a move for Marshall with Cardiff down and needing to plan ahead

skintsaint Posted 3 May, 2014 Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Would still consider making a move for Marshall with Cardiff down and needing to plan ahead Not sure he would want to be back up though, he isn't as good as AB.
Dalek2003 Posted 3 May, 2014 Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Apparently Marshall played well again today. I would say a def that we make a move for him, plus Redmond from Norwich
Baird of the land Posted 3 May, 2014 Share Posted 3 May, 2014 I'd like us to bring in McCarthy from reading to compete with Boruc. He has been an excellent signing though.
igsey Posted 3 May, 2014 Share Posted 3 May, 2014 Krul could possibly be pried away from the sinking ship that is Newcastle, although I would expect him to go to a bigger club that us; similarly, Hugo Lloris. I'm perfectly happy with Boruc as a first choice keeper, but the backup is woeful, and given our mantra of buying first team replacements rather than bench warmers, I'd like to see us splash some cash. Crab Lungs Posted 4 May, 2014 Share Posted 4 May, 2014 Stekelenburg, Stockdale or Marshall would be excellent cover and competition for AB.
Faz Posted 4 May, 2014 Share Posted 4 May, 2014 Stekelenburg, Stockdale or Marshall would be excellent cover and competition for AB. Tricky innit? What would they cost, and would they come to slug it out with AB for the No 1 spot? I think we'll keep AB as first choice and spend no more than £3-£5m on a back up. And that's assuming MP doesn't think that with another 12 months experience Gazza, or perhaps Cropper are not adequate cover. I wouldn't be surprised if we go in to next year with those three. Minsk Posted 4 May, 2014 Share Posted 4 May, 2014 Would still consider making a move for Marshall with Cardiff down and needing to plan ahead I would prefer Stekelenburg, or Ruddy, or Forster, but wouldn't complain if we did bring Marshall in.
