Please let us have one of these players for me to get behind (and on a shirt) for the WC. I thought SRL was a dead cert to stay...

A lot of us always said there was no way one of our players would ever be selected for England squad… jokes on us...

Was really look forward to the WC

Not so much now :(

Very much in this camp.

3 saints players got to the WC....likely none are really saints player when it kicks off.

They will just be England internationals that play for another lge club.

No affinity to them whatsoever.

All of the players will still be Saints players when the World Cup starts, as the registration won't go over until 1st July.

Technically true but they won't be Saints player to the media, us or the rest of the world.

Little one is fine and home, thanks Jeff.

Not even excited about watching England now Lamberts gone. Lallana and Shaw obviously want to leave as well so were as good as seeing no Saints players out there tonight.

Same, like I said May as we'll change the thread tittle

I'm not going to change the thread title.

Regardless of where they end up this summer, they'll be going to the World Cup as Saints players, and it's their efforts playing for Saints that have got them there.

Disappointed Lambert is going to World Cup as a Liverpool player. Really petty of them to force it through now and really poor of saints to accept their minuscule bid but hey ho. Lallana and shaw are still saints players as of now. Refuse to believe we'll further damage the the pr success of having England players on show in World Cup but you never know with this board.

Fifa article on Lallana. Only posted it as there is no mention of a move and I felt it made a nice change. I read it in fear waiting for that inevitable paragraph at the end but it never came. You lot can read it safe in the knowledge it's all about our captain playing for England.

Why don't you have a goat the OS people who have blatantly avoided any mention of the Saints trio at the England camp and at the build up to last night's game and now a lukewarm at best report in which Adam "spoke to a reporter". Why isn't Blackmore u there doing the interviewing of our lads. Luke Shaw not even on the bench because of flu and where was Ricky?

We've had piles of stuff about the Under 17's and the Under 20's especially our lads, even the paper they wipe their backsides with has been publicised but stoney silence on our BIG 3.

Who the hell does the OS take us for? If Shaw, Lallana & lambert are about to bugge.r off to pastures new at least the OS should man up and tell us so and then we'll understand why England going to the World Cup with 3 of our lads no longer commands any attention on the OS.

Probably scrutinised by two dozen lawyers before publication to avoid any hint of controversy at clubs leading to legal action against them. It's safe only to say the ball is round

I must be in the minority but I don't get the disappointment of potentially every Saints player in the squad not being a Saints player by the time the World Cup starts.

It was their time with Saints that got them there. This is surely their pinnacle. They didn't do this with any other team and haven't played for another Premier League team yet, so it is testament to the club.

They could go on to be major flops for their next clubs and may never get the chance to play for their country/in a major international tournament ever again. Unlikely, but could happen.

With their new clubs, their records will still read pld 0 scored 0 until August, so it is still a moment to savour.
