pap Posted 29 April, 2014 Share Posted 29 April, 2014 Calm down Dronk, I find you and your bitterness amusing as well , for a supposed happy Saint fan and me a skate it sure looks like I am sunnier than you:lol: Bazza, get yourself off to Manchester for a night in the gay village. Given the choice between that and posting your thoughts on SaintsWeb, the Manc option will leave you with an arsehole that doesn't quite feel as sore. Barry Sanchez Posted 29 April, 2014 Share Posted 29 April, 2014 Bazza, get yourself off to Manchester for a night in the gay village. Given the choice between that and posting your thoughts on SaintsWeb, the Manc option will leave you with an arsehole that doesn't quite feel as sore. I could make no headway with what your post meant, if I go to the gay village I will get a sore arsehole and if I come on here I will also get a sore arsehole but worse? What are you saying Pap, you seemed quite happy with your lady, was this a ruse? Are you a team or something?

pap Posted 29 April, 2014 Share Posted 29 April, 2014 (edited) I could make no headway with what your post meant, if I go to the gay village I will get a sore arsehole and if I come on here I will also get a sore arsehole but worse? Kinda. Except in Manchester, there's every chance that with your wit and guile, you might not pull, and might not get a sore arse. Here, you're pretty much guaranteed to f**k yourself for eternity with penile matter of your own creation. Enjoy Rick, eh? Saint George Posted 29 April, 2014 Share Posted 29 April, 2014 I don't think you or Bazza have ruined the forum at all. By the end of 2014, trolling the pair of you will eclipse anything I have to say on conspiracy theories. Keep up your infantile bollócks, chaps. You make everyone else look good and provide me with a lot of ammunition. More own goals than a team full of Hooivelds. Trolling Barry and Glasgow is as bad as Barry and Glasgow trolling this forum....The end result is still the same. That's another idiot on my ignore list
pap Posted 29 April, 2014 Share Posted 29 April, 2014 Trolling Barry and Glasgow is as bad as Barry and Glasgow trolling this forum....The end result is still the same. Nah, it's not. I'm a Champions League píss-taker. That pair couldn't get out of Skrill Premier (and would think Les Dennis jokes were the path to promotion, funnily enough). That's another idiot on my ignore list If only you could afford the five quid, eh mate?
tajjuk Posted 29 April, 2014 Share Posted 29 April, 2014 It shows progress, turn over will have increased, shows the club is progressing. A small step maybe but when you add in the media plaudits, the England calls etc I would imagine the clubs profile has risen quite a bit which help help with the off the field activities, sponsorship activities etc. It's not likely to make a massive difference to player recruitment but may help a bit. It's what happens now is the key, the players know it and we know it, it's a very important summer for this club. I honestly think there is more to come from this set of players alone but we've shown quality in a our first team. (for example could you argue our best eleven is worst than Evertons or Spurs?) but our depth is poor and that has probably cost us a dozen points or more. Aside from midfield where we have excellent options most of our back up wouldn't get into the teams of the bottom 3. If we can add 3-4 (I think more 4 maybe 5 with the loss of Jay Rod) quality players and keep the rest next season could be something special. Miltonaggro Posted 29 April, 2014 Share Posted 29 April, 2014 What does it mean for us and what sort of season has it been, are two different questions; With regard to the season itself, it has been terrific and one of my favourites ever (I started going in 1977). We have improved our league positioning by more than anyone else in the league (Possibly with the exception of Liverpool - we will see) and on course for our highest ever points tally in the Premier (I know I know). It hasn't just been the results, it's been the performances and the football we have played that has made it so enjoyable (One of my favourite games was the 2 -1 defeat to Everton) and as the media drawl over us - we have done it with young English blood, that will see two maybe three of our players head out to the World cup and two of them in the PFA team of the year. The balancing act between the demand for success, expectation and integrating young, home grown, inexperienced players, should not be under estimated and for that alone MP, has done an incredible job and deserves huge amounts of respect. The FA cup did leave a sour taste, but when you take a step back and look at the two chances that Stevie Wonder would have scored (Rickie, Lallana), then on any other day it would have been soon forgotten. For those that genuinely haven't enjoyed it, I suggest you try a new sport or a different club...... It won't get much better than this one for Saints. As for what it means for us, well that's the down side (Probably) We have shown the rest of the footballing world what we've got and the vultures are circling. Starting at the very top with our manager, (which would seem to be the lynch pin with regard to players staying) he has played some of the most entertaining football in the league, with the youngsters and got results. Outside of the top 5, I doubt there is a club in the country that hasn't called their manager and academy directors into a meeting and asked them "If he can do it why can't you?". He has for ma proved himself the absolute real deal and keeping hold of him will be very difficult. I don't buy into this lets see at the end of the season and in many ways most if not all of us would do the same, he is waiting to see what is offered from others and the likelihood is one of them will make a play for him. Pretty much the same with the players . I once posted on here that if Lallana could effect matches in the Premier league, the same way as he did in League one and the Championship, then you would be looking at a 25 million pound England International .....Me and my big mouth. There is no point in listing all the other players, we know who they are and I'm afraid that there are a lot of delusional people on here that believe loyalty will overcome multi million pound pay days.................... it won't. If Luke Shaw IS offered 100k a week in a 30 million pound deal, both club and player will accept, Lallana probably less (Given his age) but the same thing counts. Replacing two or three players with a wedge of cash in your pocket, isn't overly difficult, replacing a manger and two or three players, is harder but not impossible. However I think we have grown to understand that a significant part of our success in the last few years is how tight, these guys are together. The absolutely play for their manager and teammates. I've never seen a group of players as tight and the worry is of course that goes, the instant the manager or a significant player / s leaves. People also need to look past "billionaire" Katrina. This is a business. The group company she runs is an investment vehicle. Buying and selling companies, shares and investing in business opportunities............. To make money. So far to date (Up until the last accounts anyway) SFC has cost the estate 55 million pounds. We owe 27 million in outstanding transfer fees and have a an unspecified loan to a BVI loan company, that has a charge on everything - including the players. At some point last year she was required to provide an additional 2 million and I suspect (Based on the liquidation of the old company) has recently parted with another four million to Aviva. The reality is that our "stock" is high- Probably as high as it will go, so from a business perspective, it would make perfect sense to cash in on a couple of players, which would also certainly then see the manage go as well. Obviously a lot of that is conjecture, but I think people need a reality check as to what the summer will bring. In many ways this great season, could make us victims of our own success, then of course it might not, but one thing I am convinced of and that is the close season will be a defining period in Saints history..... bad or good. Right on the money Gemmel!...
david in sweden Posted 29 April, 2014 Share Posted 29 April, 2014 Last year we pocketed £48M so we've almost doubled our revenue - http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2013/05/21/where-the-money-went-premier-league-prize-and-tv-payments-for-2012-13-210501/. It makes Saints a more viable option for inward investment / sponsorship, and if we can keep hold of our manager and bright young team, we in the rare position of being a club that is highly likely to improve as our youngsters gain experience at the top level- meaning that other bright young things may buy into the 'great place to be' ethic. Crucial summer, but whatever happens it's good to be a Saints fan right now!... What? .....8th place only pays £82 million where are all those promises of £90 million when we got promoted .....DISGUSTING, I say !....conned again.
