teenagegsaint Posted 27 April, 2014 Posted 27 April, 2014 Going to be a big test. Should be a great away day.
kwsaint Posted 27 April, 2014 Posted 27 April, 2014 Bit worried they won't score for us,. just put jos on for them ;-)
Dalek2003 Posted 27 April, 2014 Posted 27 April, 2014 Last home game od the season fro them, we have almost cemented 8th. Neither team will want injuries before summer hols and World Cup. An exhibition match, 4-4 !
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 27 April, 2014 Posted 27 April, 2014 Looking forward to my sausage and chips.
Turkish Posted 27 April, 2014 Posted 27 April, 2014 Should be a good game, two teams with the pressure off who play good football.
Saint Garrett Posted 27 April, 2014 Posted 27 April, 2014 I look forward to it. Should be a good away day !!! I won't be getting involved myself, but any fancy dress theme this year? Hartlepool's at the weekend was a top drawer effort!!
LGTL Posted 27 April, 2014 Posted 27 April, 2014 Second year in a row where this has been our last away game of the season, remember the weather being lovely last year, the game was positively awful. Hoping for something a bit better this time.
LGTL Posted 27 April, 2014 Posted 27 April, 2014 Sorry I'm talking nonsense, Spurs and Sunderland both came after Swansea last year.
Saint Garrett Posted 27 April, 2014 Posted 27 April, 2014 Second year in a row where this has been our last away game of the season, remember the weather being lovely last year, the game was positively awful. Hoping for something a bit better this time. 2 teams playing good football completely cancelled each other out to a 0-0 draw. Hoping for goals this time round!!
fanimal Posted 28 April, 2014 Posted 28 April, 2014 And yet another perfectly good goal disallowed as well…My recollection is Mayuka panicking their defence when he came on for the last 15 minutes, they push up and leave space behind them. Play Clyney as a right winger!
Saint Bones Posted 28 April, 2014 Posted 28 April, 2014 Ill gladly take a draw in this match - Depending on which Swansea turn up. 2-2 with us actually scoring twice this week ! Lambert and S Davis
Appy Posted 28 April, 2014 Posted 28 April, 2014 And yet another perfectly good goal disallowed as well…My recollection is Mayuka panicking their defence when he came on for the last 15 minutes, they push up and leave space behind them. Play Clyney as a right winger! No, don't.
Lighthouse Posted 28 April, 2014 Posted 28 April, 2014 I'd stick with the same team, even if Morgan is fit. Lets see if this Cork and VW partnership has got what it takes.
trousers Posted 28 April, 2014 Posted 28 April, 2014 Time to give a few of the youngsters a go... Boruc Clyne - Fonte - Lovren - Targett Reed - Wanyama Davis - Lallana - Lambert Gallagher Subs: Gazza, Shaw, Chambers, Cork, Schneiderlin/JWP, Sims, McQueen
Saint Garrett Posted 28 April, 2014 Posted 28 April, 2014 Think we might see a few younger lads come on, however think we'll still start our "best" side.
sydneysaint17 Posted 28 April, 2014 Posted 28 April, 2014 Time to give a few of the youngsters a go... Boruc Clyne - Fonte - Lovren - Targett Reed - Wanyama Davis - Lallana - Lambert Gallagher Subs: Gazza, Shaw, Chambers, Cork, Schneiderlin, Sims, McQueen Agree - after Lallana V Mccarthy can see him being fine with a place on the bench though. Did anyone else see them squabbling during and after the game on Saturday?
Lighthouse Posted 28 April, 2014 Posted 28 April, 2014 Time to give a few of the youngsters a go... Boruc Clyne - Fonte - Lovren - Targett Reed - Wanyama Davis - Lallana - Lambert Gallagher Subs: Gazza, Shaw, Chambers, Cork, Schneiderlin/JWP, Sims, McQueen I don't think we will start with 3 academy players like that, especially not leaving Shaw out when he is fighting for a WC place. I'd say if anything we will see Gallagher start and possibly a sub appearance for Reed. Putting out 3 youngsters and having them get well beaten by Swansea isn't going to help their careers. This will be a tough game even for our strongest XI
SNSUN Posted 28 April, 2014 Posted 28 April, 2014 Same team as Saturday please. As much as I'd like us to try something with the youngsters, it wouldn't be fair on the fans paying money to travel and see the game. Let's wave the academy in front of Utds noses on the last day, and try to get points with a strong team against Swansea.
Goatboy Posted 29 April, 2014 Posted 29 April, 2014 It would be great to end the season with two good performances and another 6 points My main hope for the last two games though? No injuries to Lallana, Lambert, Shaw, Cork or Clyne. 5 Saints on the plane please Roy
Batman Posted 29 April, 2014 Posted 29 April, 2014 I swear MP translator was interviewing Mourinho (translating for the spannish press) prior to the CL game tomorrow.. gets everywhere, does he edit - it is deffo him
Matthew Le God Posted 29 April, 2014 Posted 29 April, 2014 I swear MP translator was interviewing Mourinho (translating for the spannish press) prior to the CL game tomorrow.. gets everywhere, does he Salas David @dajasahi 3h Yes, today I'll interpret for another Argentinean and his Portuguese counterpart in LDN. I am trying to play it cool, but this is big...
aintforever Posted 29 April, 2014 Posted 29 April, 2014 I would play the kids in this one as we literally have nothing to play for. Give the young lads some valuable experience. Gazza Chambers - Fonte - Lovren - Targett Reed - Wanyama JWP - Lallana - McQueen Gallagher Subs: Boruc, Shaw, Clyne, Cork, Sims, Lambert, Davis
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 29 April, 2014 Posted 29 April, 2014 Well we have 8th place to play for so not literally nothing.
Batman Posted 29 April, 2014 Posted 29 April, 2014 Players have win bonuses, world cup performances, keeping match fit, pride, etc we wont be playing a team full of reserves, IMO
Matthew Le God Posted 29 April, 2014 Posted 29 April, 2014 Well we have 8th place to play for so not literally nothing. I'm not saying we should experiment too much, but how are Saints going to lose 8th place? We are 6 points ahead, with 6 points to play for (including Newcastle going to Anfield) plus Newcastle would need a 25 goal difference swing.
Batman Posted 29 April, 2014 Posted 29 April, 2014 on another note bale just set up ronaldo on a plate to lead away to Bayern 0-3.
Leicestersaint Posted 29 April, 2014 Posted 29 April, 2014 Give Omar Rowe a go - I would not persist with Gallagher.
igsey Posted 29 April, 2014 Posted 29 April, 2014 Play the kids + Shaw, Lallana and Morgan, tell those three to play really badly and sub them all at half time.
teenagegsaint Posted 30 April, 2014 Author Posted 30 April, 2014 Don't want Gallagher to start, never wins anything in the air! Awful for a 6ft 4 striker
DuncanRG Posted 30 April, 2014 Posted 30 April, 2014 Don't want Gallagher to start, never wins anything in the air! Awful for a 6ft 4 striker There's no better time to give him experience and help him improve, we haven't got anything to play for!
SaintSteve Posted 30 April, 2014 Posted 30 April, 2014 Don't want Gallagher to start, never wins anything in the air! Awful for a 6ft 4 striker Without Rodriguez, Gallagher is our best option.. played OK v Everton... needs a run and MP can establish whether he is the future
John Boy Saint Posted 30 April, 2014 Posted 30 April, 2014 Don't want Gallagher to start, never wins anything in the air! Awful for a 6ft 4 striker His mere presence in the Everton box on the defenders radar had them windy enough to drop a clanger twice. Good job you ain't the manager otherwise we would be like Chelsea Citeh etc and just buy a team in allowing the academy players to just collect dust and fester away
teenagegsaint Posted 30 April, 2014 Author Posted 30 April, 2014 I meant awful in the air by the way, not awful player
Batman Posted 30 April, 2014 Posted 30 April, 2014 Thought Swansea were very good at SMS. Rodriguez was the real difference that day IMO
Wiggles31 Posted 30 April, 2014 Posted 30 April, 2014 Gallagher did very well I thought last Saturday. His aerial abilities will improve in time. Fancy a 1-1 draw in this. Lambert penalty.
Simples Posted 30 April, 2014 Posted 30 April, 2014 I planned my stag weekend around this game but we couldn't get them. Anyone got three going? Please!!!!
John Boy Saint Posted 30 April, 2014 Posted 30 April, 2014 I planned my stag weekend around this game but we couldn't get them. Anyone got three going? Please!!!!As you are going that way have not tried the Swansea t/o and play sitting on your hands for 2hrs, if your address doesn't fit askthe accommodation if you have planned some to get them. To the game I reckon it will be an honest entertaining affair as Gary Monk looks like he fancies the job so he will be out to bulk up his CV.
Bearsy Posted 30 April, 2014 Posted 30 April, 2014 just by the by, in that daily mail article bout liverpool transfer they mentioned that Lallana is carrying a groin strain.
fanimal Posted 30 April, 2014 Posted 30 April, 2014 OMG if Adam doesn't play then cue the "he's off to Liverpool" theories….
Chez Posted 30 April, 2014 Posted 30 April, 2014 (edited) Don't want Gallagher to start, never wins anything in the air! Awful for a 6ft 4 striker But his off the ball movement is good and he stretches the opposition giving more space for Lambert to work in. He puts himself about. My only concern is whether he can take a few more chances that come his way. Happy to see him play the last couple,of games. I need a ticket for the game should anyone have a spare. Pm me. Appy Posted 30 April, 2014 Posted 30 April, 2014 Thought Swansea were very good at SMS. Rodriguez was the real difference that day IMO Wasn't he a sub?

We have even tried corporate there and got a Welsh friend to call them as our accents got us turned away straight away!

Dark Munster Posted 1 May, 2014 Posted 1 May, 2014 This is going to be an intense, nerve-wracking match. I'm nervous already.
Griffo Posted 1 May, 2014 Posted 1 May, 2014 Everyone buzzing to get their player masks? Saints are going to be a laughing stock as usual. I'm now going to stay in the pub in Swansea and hang myself.
Berkshire Saint Posted 1 May, 2014 Posted 1 May, 2014 Everyone buzzing to get their player masks? Just seen it on Twitter. I feel a bit sick. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Sour Mash Posted 1 May, 2014 Posted 1 May, 2014 What a pointless, cringeworthy gimmick for the club to initiate.
