9-3 Posted 26 April, 2014 Share Posted 26 April, 2014 ...''We got your back four!!!!'' Saints fans were brilliant today. Loved the guys in the corner of Itchen Stand by corner flag all dressed up in dinner suits, seen them for last few years, where are they from? Toomer Posted 26 April, 2014 Share Posted 26 April, 2014 The lads in the dinner suits come to a game once a season to raise money for cancer research and in memory of one their mothers who lost her battle against cancer a few years ago, I won't say anymore just in case DW wants to add to this. danner Posted 26 April, 2014 Share Posted 26 April, 2014 I was walking back towards town and got passed by a van full of Everton fans singing shall we score a goal for you, made me chuckle They didn't have much of a sense of humour in the ground though. bender Posted 26 April, 2014 Share Posted 26 April, 2014 I think the chant was "who needs Rodriques, we've got your back four" which followed "we are Southampton, we dont need to score." Not sure I've heard so many laughs after a footy chant.
kitch Posted 26 April, 2014 Share Posted 26 April, 2014 Was sat next to them. Brilliant banter from them...."Harrison Reed, Harrison Reeeeeeeeeeed! He looks like a Wotsit! He's Harrison Reed!" Caused a Dad to wheel his son to a different slot at the front, mind, but they were a good laugh! Poor old Tony Hibberd though. They crucified him!! Tractor_Saint Posted 27 April, 2014 Share Posted 27 April, 2014 The BT cameraman who was running the line laughed many times at the chants from the crowd. Excellent banter yesterday.
DuncanRG Posted 27 April, 2014 Share Posted 27 April, 2014 Oh please, these fans are deluded. Any fan who understands the limits of our club knows we need Rodriguez. Bet they clapped as well. Don't buy the party line.
Golden Balls Posted 27 April, 2014 Share Posted 27 April, 2014 Thought it was a good atmosphere today. Watched it back on tv and sounded quite quiet. Do we not have many microphones pitch side? What was the significance of those who dressed up to form a massive H in the Chapel?

Griffo Posted 27 April, 2014 Share Posted 27 April, 2014 How imaginative. We only use that same tune for about 100 of our songs. As for people using the word 'banter'..
simo Posted 27 April, 2014 Share Posted 27 April, 2014 How imaginative. We only use that same tune for about 100 of our songs. As for people using the word 'banter'.. I know how embarrassing at least compose a new tune for every new song !
Goatboy Posted 27 April, 2014 Share Posted 27 April, 2014 How imaginative. We only use that same tune for about 100 of our songs. As for people using the word 'banter'.. It was funny. Or were they thousands of ironic laughs? Cheer up.
angelman Posted 27 April, 2014 Share Posted 27 April, 2014 My old man was wondering how these chants start and spread so effectively. It was by far the best chant this season. I laughed, as did most around me. What did the Everton lot think of it?
