pap Posted 24 April, 2014 Share Posted 24 April, 2014 (edited) "Land monopoly is not the only monopoly, but it is by far the greatest of monopolies – it is a perpetual monopoly, and it is the mother of all other forms of monopoly." Churchill RT's Max Keiser riffs on the theme this week. It focuses on the changes in home ownership in the UK. Keiser repeats Thatcher's point about socialism being great until you run out of other people's money, making the case that the private rented sector is essentially the same. [video=youtube;5tBd-ZzXW7Q] Careful now. The above show was made with Putin's money! It's obviously not going to paint the UK in the best light, but at the same time, we all know that we have chronic problems with housing. Is land monopoly the biggest factor at play here? Are we moving from a nation of homeowners to a nation of renters and rentiers? Edited 24 April, 2014 by pap
