Lallana's Left Peg Posted 18 April, 2014 Share Posted 18 April, 2014 Luke Shaw nominated for Young Player of the Year as well. A fantastic achievement from them both.

Saint Charlie Posted 18 April, 2014 Share Posted 18 April, 2014 Shaw should win but instead Hazard or Sturridge will. Sturridge made his PL debut 7 years ago, surely he shouldnt be able to win a Young Player award. Lallana - great achivement. In there with some top names ahead of the likes of David Silva. DuncanRG Posted 18 April, 2014 Share Posted 18 April, 2014 The PFA list is: Luis Suarez Daniel Sturridge Steven Gerrard Eden Hazard Yaya Toure Adam Lallana I'd say that selection is bang-on, but Adam has done well to get in there ahead of Silva. Matthew Le God Posted 18 April, 2014 Share Posted 18 April, 2014 Having 23/24 year olds like Ramsey, Sturridge and Hazard is odd for a "young" player award. A 24 year old has had 6+ years playing time, they aren't a new face to the Premier League. It should really be set lower and leave the likes of Barkley, Shaw and Sterling to slug it out. Lallana's Left Peg Posted 18 April, 2014 Share Posted 18 April, 2014 Wonder when there was last no Man Utd players? Not sure if you've been keeping up with the news mate but they have one player nominated in each category - Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw.

Stu Man Do Posted 18 April, 2014 Share Posted 18 April, 2014 Congrats to both the guys but I have a sneaky feeling it'll be either Gerrard if they win the league or Suarez otherwise and I think Barkley will win the young player on the basis that he seems to be getting even more hype than Luke

ottery st mary Posted 18 April, 2014 Share Posted 18 April, 2014 Well done to both Lallana and Shaw. Chewy Posted 18 April, 2014 Share Posted 18 April, 2014 Fantastic news and well deserved by both. Can't see either of them winning, but the nominations are an excellent recognition in themselves. And what a story for lallana - with us in our darkest days, and now a standout premier league player for the saints. Hope it doesn't go to his head, though. Clattenberg wouldn't be happy ... nta786 Posted 18 April, 2014 Share Posted 18 April, 2014 Excellent news that he's been recognised, pity they'll give it to that knob Suarez though. As big a knob he might be, you can't deny the fact that he has been exceptional this season, and he rightly deserves to win. Congratulations to Adam on making the shortlist however, and also Luke Shaw, both thoroughly deserved to be nominated.

He will not be the winner of the player of the season, because he is not the best player of the season. But he has been short listed, so blows his thinking out the window. Stupid claims...., I is a bloody good player though, but should shut his stupid ignorant trap at times!

Chap in the Chapel Posted 18 April, 2014 Share Posted 18 April, 2014 Well done Adam and Luke. Lallana's form has been so good in recent weeks that I'd now say he's our player of the season, rather than Dejan Lovren.

Saint_clark Posted 18 April, 2014 Share Posted 18 April, 2014 Amazing. Well done both. As already said, the likes of Ramsay and Sturridge shouldn't be included in young player - and I also don't agree with one player being on both lists. But hey ho.
