Aston Villa build up.

Nothing wrong with Fonte at all. He is however in his 30s and one of the players we will need to replace in the next couple of years. Seeing as how we have very little to play for it might be worth trying, just to see if he is a viable option there.

I see no reason for that type of experimentation actually. The lad is a RB now and has no experience at CB in league football.

We will replace Fonte with a suitable CB bought in from elsewhere, there's no point tinkering with what you have already.

We need to get some points from our last 4 games because we could easily drop down 2 or 3 places if we don't and that will

cost us money and status.

Okay . I'm in a dilemma . I'm in Dundee I can either go back to Orkney as my flight is not till Monday or make my way to villa .

I don't have a ticket . Can I gat one at the game is there any spare . Is there some where close to villa park I can stay ? It's been a few years since I was there .the days of Micky Evans when we went with bits of carpet as side burns and trigger scored an own goal . Please advise

I have a spare ticket avialable for the game if your still considering coming to game

What a dispirited, wantaway bunch of turncoats they look.

Lovren nutmegging Reed...

Great video...great team spirit.

My daughter pointed this out to me last night.

Watched it so many times.

Absolutely brilliant.

Goatboy...Good to meet you before the Cardiff game.

You met Jason and Blake...Young Blake is off on his cycle to Villa.

Jason had chance to speak to Ralph.......

First thing he said..was that Glasgow and Barry Sanchez will be off loaded in the window:p

May have been a slight communication problem:rolleyes:

;)

I think he meant thrown out of the window from the 10th floor.:D

Wanyama and Cork don't play together. Some sort of incompatability I believe. Morgan says he had to adapt to play with Wanyama, perhaps Cork can't do that. Pity really because it limits our possibilities. I wouldn't mind seeing the above side (in a sort of 4-1-2-2-1 formation) but I don't think we ever will.

My thinking is morgan is likely to make runs beyond lambert could open space for others. Worth trying wanyama and cork can always change it if it doesnt work

It'd be good to start my 4 day Easter break with a bang by spanking

Villa which I think we will either 3-0 or 3-1 but we'l see what happens!!!

I hope that Boruc is back too as well as I think we need him for the

last 4 games this season as it'd be good to finish on a high but we'l

see what happens!!! :D

COYR!!! :D

12/5 for AV win looks very generous

Yep, it is, we are clear favourites and probably shouldn't be. They lack any serious firepower, and the loss of J Rod has severely weakened us. However, with Boruc back I think we might just sneak it 1 0 (Fonte or Lovren from a set piece)

A clean sheet would be good for a change.

Not much excitement for this game huh, team news due out shortly and I hope we are at least more clinical going forward after last week.

Don't see that we have anyone to make much difference going forward. Gallagher maybe, other than that a restructuration of the midfield, Davis needs to get forward more for sure.

Boruc, Clyne and Wanyama in. Gazza, Chambers and Cork out.

So:

Boruc, Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw, Morgan Wanyama, Lallana Davis JWP, Lambo.

SUBS: Gazza, Chambers Hooiveld, Reed Cork, Guly Gallagher

Can see why Clyne has come in, gives us a bit more pace that we lack with Chambers in there. Not sure about Wanyama for Cork though, Wanyama was shocking vs Villa t home.

Wanyama got injured in that first half against Villa though and came off at half time. Strong defensive side but still can't see where the goals are going to come from, if last week is anything to go by. Anyway COYR!

On the goalscoring front nothing can be considered to be worse than last week because we didn't score any either.

Think we'll see Morgan and Davis pushing a lot further forward this afternoon.

I prefer to look at is as Cork getting a well deserved rest, he's been immense for us - big shoes for the big man to fill. Hope to see more of a threat from our midfield today, the only pace we have is in our full backs and Lallana. Hopefully JWP's set pieces are up to standard this week!

Not sure, They dont like gambling when Wanyama is there cos they know he'll give the ball away.

Strong line-up, would like to see Davis and maybe MS take responsibility for making forward runs in J Rod's absence with JWP hanging back if necessary. Pace was what we lacked last week and I can see this game playing out a similar way as Villa tend to be more set-up as a counter-attacking side even at home, just hope the result is not the same. Makes sense to put VW in if fit (although tough on JC) as it should be a hard physical battle, can see it getting scrappy in midfield today.

Last week it looked they didn't want to commit forward due to the likelihood of any shot on target going in with Gazzaniga in goal.

So surely the perfect game for Cork then ?!

If it's a choice between the 2, I would say no. Don't get me wrong, JC has been better than VW for us this season, and should come back in against Everton. However as a horses for courses decision, I don't have a problem with seeing VW in today, as long as he leaves the 40 yard passes to JWP.

Message for Victor just pass it to Jwp and let him place it onto Rickies head !

Also continue to be a human tank if delph runs in your direction.

In all honesty tho I expect Vic to be much improved passing and general play after a whole pre-season as he did improve as we went through the season before his injury.

Schneiderlin, Wanyama

V Interesting Line Up, I think we can win this though. We'll need luck

Why interesting? Reckon its his first choice available team

He's fine against sides we have a bit less of the ball and break up, but today, I think we'll have a lot of the ball, will be a bit niggly in midfield and we need to switch play quickly. Hopefully he has one of his better games, but I've never seen a footballer so bad at passing.
