niceandfriendly Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 That Puncheon fella at Palace looks handy too
The Cat Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Marshall has been excellent all season. I'd happily have him here him if he leaves Cardiff in the summer.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 This I can get on board with. Marshall is a very good goalkeeper.
Whitey Grandad Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Fine, but he's not as good as Boruc.. He was miles better than Boruc today.
Wrensup Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 He was miles better than Boruc today. Not difficult when the other isn't even on the pitch
S-Clarke Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Would be a realistic and good option for our GK position.
Whitey Grandad Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Not difficult when the other isn't even on the pitch Exactly. I'm better than both of them when I'm not playing It doesn't matter how good Boruc is if he keeps getting injuries. We need a couple of new goalkeepers if our number 1 and number 2 are going to be injured half the time.
Dig Dig Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 That Puncheon fella at Palace looks handy too He would have been a decent option for us this season.
SuperSAINT Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Yeah, looked good today - Looked good all season. Would love to see him here.
Monk Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Not difficult when the other isn't even on the pitch Chomp
skintsaint Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Not sure what he did today that has prompted someone to start a thread for... Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
Leicestersaint Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 We certainly need a new top-notch keeper with Boruc then as back up.
Bad Wolf Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Been saying this for months. Signed a new contract with them recently so won't be cheap
Manuel Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Not sure what he did today that has prompted someone to start a thread for... Desperation, losing points relying on a third rate, and third place keeper.
Dazza82 Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Fabianski is leaving arsenal at the end of the season, i would rather have him Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Graffito Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Fabianski is leaving arsenal at the end of the season, i would rather have him Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk Not for me. Arsenal are as good at signing keepers as they are at signing strikers. Marshall was good. Kept them in it by saving Lamberts free kick. Looks like a solid keeper to me.
skintsaint Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 Desperation, losing points relying on a third rate, and third place keeper. He's no better than Boruc and neither would be back up to each other anyway. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
Graffito Posted 12 April, 2014 Posted 12 April, 2014 MoTD pundits were impressed. Questioned whether there is a better keeper in the PL.
DuncanRG Posted 13 April, 2014 Posted 13 April, 2014 I'd also fancy Mats Moller Daehli if we were in the business of buying our teenagers rather than growing them. He's got bags of potential.
eelpie Posted 15 April, 2014 Posted 15 April, 2014 Boruc's better Marshall is confident in goal, and shows it. Boruc is not.
Saint Charlie Posted 15 April, 2014 Posted 15 April, 2014 Marshall is confident in goal, and shows it. Boruc is not. Rubbish. Boruc is almost over confident if anything. One v one with a striker Boruc one of the best in the league IMO.
niceandfriendly Posted 16 April, 2014 Posted 16 April, 2014 Yeah Boruc is a very confident keeper, and as Charlie said often too confident. Begovic is probably the best in the Prem isn't he? Despite his fishy roots would be great to have him here. Pops up with the occasional important goal too.
positivepete Posted 16 April, 2014 Posted 16 April, 2014 Saw a quote from Shilton praising Marshall the other day. Be interesting to see what we do in that department in the next window.
Dalek2003 Posted 16 April, 2014 Posted 16 April, 2014 If Cardiff do go down, then I think we will have a real try for Marshall, but we won't be alone so it will cost us.
Golden Balls Posted 16 April, 2014 Posted 16 April, 2014 Been saying for years we should have gone for Kasper Schmeichel but I think we've left it too late now. Begovic would be my next choice but again, he'd cost a lot unless Stoke went down.
Saint Charlie Posted 16 April, 2014 Posted 16 April, 2014 Begovic will move to a CL team. From his point of view coming here would be pointless. Might as well stay at Stoke.
Bloo71 Posted 17 April, 2014 Posted 17 April, 2014 It's no coincidence the consistently impressive keeper is one playing for a **** poor side having to make about 20 saves per game. The top keepers at better clubs don't have the chance to shine in quite the same way. Marshall has still made some poor mistakes this season, conceded a lot of goals and not looked that great on crosses. No doubt better than our reserves, probably similar level to Boruc but is that enough? Depends on the cost I guess. Would put him at the Ben Foster/John Ruddy of pretty good most the time level so if WBA or Norwich go there's other potential targets. Marshall, Forster, Ruddy, Foster. Can see them all moving in the summer so you'd think we'll be looking. Maybe Krul too the way Newcastle sell off assets but bigger clubs will be keen. What mistakes has Marshall made??? He's been brilliant. Can you give specific examples...
