Pochettino's Future

I've lost faith in them already, and the worst bit is the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd will start to bully us now in the transfer market as Kruger and co are clearly a soft touch. We are a sinking ship without a captain to pull us through

How exactly .....steal our lunch money

This is utterly hilarious. People now running MoPo's ability and character because he is on the verge of dumping us for a rival.

He is a professional, he believes this is the best move for him. Am I disappointed? Yes. Am I surprised? No.

Many on here bemoaning the lack of loyalty that he is [reportedly] showing us. By the way, this is exactly the same level of loyalty our club showed to Dodd and Williams - it cuts both ways.

I agree, I don't question MP at all. In fact he is fast becoming a potential fall guy. I don't trust Levy and may be using MP as a bargaining tool, he doesn't care if it destabilises us or ruins things for MP. Many fans are turning on him and will be suspicious of his future motives even if he did stay.

The Forum is going in to meltdown over this so I decided to eMail the club. Not sure I will get a response but it made me feel better.

Hi this is Ralph. Unfortunately I am unable to respond to your email at this time as I am on my holidays. I will be back in six weeks time, but if you can't wait that long, please email Mauricio Pochetino@THFC.co.uk who may be able to help.

Do you know the reasons for Dodd and Williams getting the boot?

Nope, and I used them as an example. If they deserved it on grounds of gross misconduct etc. please substitute my example with:

Nigel Adkins

Alan Pardew

Mark Wotte

Jan Portivelt

The board has been totally inept. Heads should roll, if MP goes.

Hows that then? Any more substance to it than just knee jerk? The board offered him a new contract with more money and a guarantee to not sell any player he didnt want to sell. It looks like he's chosen to go to Spurs. What would you have done different? nailed his feet to floor? recruited a new manager whilst Pochettino was still under contract and deciding? Do share.

do you believe the board really would have not sold LS or AL? The potential price offered is very hard to resist.

No need to be so defensive. I don't know why they were sacked and was merely asking. Your point about "disloyalty" swinging both ways is an obvious one, but that doesn't stop people feeling emotional about it. Bit like when you get dumped, the girl is evil and unfeeling but when you dump someone, it is completely justified and what's the big fuss?

I agree. The current team is unbalanced in some areas and lacks squad depth. I imagine Pochettino would have sold one or the other (not both) to fund two or three aquisitions.

No, stealing our lunch money and using it to buy a few players. You stupid *****

Don't be a t wat how they going to bully us? "Give us Lallana for a grand or we'll kick your head in" any players that will be sold will be sold for what the club values them at weather you or I agree with the valuation is another matter.....

Apologies, didn't mean to sound defensive and I don't know anything. You make a good point as it hasn't really come out why yet about those two.

As I have posted before, the deal has been on the table for a few weeks since MP first met Levy. Not bothered by it, don't think he he ever gave a **** about us. He is a good manager, but overrated IMO.

Yes Tony but unfortunately the "players" like him and that is why his departure is going to hurt.

Why do you find it utterly hilarious MoPo is getting stick. It really sees like that his assertions of wanting to wait until end of season as wants to concentrate on end of season may be disingenuous as it seems it may have been more about keeping his options open. Of course the whole picture needs to come out before we can judge but I for one am left with a slightly bad taste in my mouth.................

I think bringing up Loyalty to Dodd and Williams is mixing up 2 different situations, plus do you know why they left, I am assuming that you know they are blameless....?

Having said that I also would have preferred he stays [stayed] he has done a good job but it is galling the way it is unfolding and to Spurs.

I would love it if we finished above them next season [and MoPo got sacked] .... love it!!

You've answered the question right there.

Source?

And what about a transfer budget?

Take your time, you'll need it.

Guarantee to not sell unless agreed - Krueger interview, watch it. Bigger contract strongly implied by Krueger numerous times. Transfer budget, no idea - do you know? do you know if Spurs have any cash left after blowing the Bale goldpot?

But we won't because we'll certainly have inferior players and no doubt an inferior manager...unless the club is sold to someone with some serious spending money that is.

Spurs have a very good squad, MP will make them very strong. He will get them playing to their potential

Yes, it is my understanding that his 3 main targets are J Rod, Chambers and Lallana

He should be stopped from buying anyone from his former club. A board and club management with any balls would ensure that was the case, sadly they probably don't have a clue and are still wandering around the board room talking to themselves.

They'll probably do him a cut price deal if he buys in bulk

I can see him wanting to take one of the RBs, Lovren, Morgan, Lallana and JRod.

Obviously won't get them all but wouldn't be surprised if a few follow. Wanyama if he doesn't rate Sandro or wants more cover.

If he got Lamela playing well and had Eriksson and Lallana they'd have a great attack. Still need a striker though for when Adebayor gets bored.

So you're writing off Soldado?

It's not so much that he's leaving, I can give him that, it's just that it's to Spurs.

SPURS.

I hate Spurs.

I hate Spurs too which is why its good that he is going there - s*** fans with ideas way above their station still living in the 80's. It will go badly wrong for him in my opinion - he will get no leeway with their expectations being unrealistic from day one. They will moan that he is just another AVB.

Interesting to see how the punishing training routine will hold up with all the extra games and travel the Europa League affords you. Especially given his ambivalence about that competition.

Just because he is talking to them doesn't mean it is a done deal. He might get both offers, weigh them up and still choose us.

So has he actually left .

No, not actually left obviously, but its important to be first in the hand wringing queue. There's no emotional impact to wailing "woe is me what will become of us" if you wait for actual news - too many other people will have got their angst in early and will have dissipated the impact.

#itsnothappening#endofourjourney. So fed up our great team led by a bright young manager is about to be disbanded. Always the same being a Saints fan, just a big build up to get kicked in the teeth again. Perhaps that's why I renewed my season ticket for the twentieth odd time in a row......

I know it's a professional game, but I wouldn't want him here under those circumstances.

He's talking them because he knows what's on offer with us which presumebly isn't too exciting.

He won't be able to take old players with him.

Says who?

It's not like a hairdresser leaving a salon, to set up on his own and being banned from poaching customers from the old one.

In theory you can try to stop it, but in practice - as we have seen with a manager who still has a year to run on his contract - if somebody wants to go, it's well-nigh impossible to stop them.

I feel v.bad for Ralph, he's going to get back from holiday and find his manager and half the first team squad have done a bunk. I can understand Les not wanting to bother him & ruin his hols but srsly if I was Ralph I'd at least want to be kept in the loop. Poor Ralph. :(

That's not true, it gets written into the contract to allow Spurs to negotiate a deal with Poch.
