S-Clarke Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 6 months is best case, this will be a 9 month job in my opinion. Utter nightmare. Ok, now let's get a scouting for a replacement. Not replacing him next year will be on par with not replacing Killer!
Lighthouse Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Get well soon Jay. Our play will suffer badly without him IMO, integral to the way we play.
berkshiresaint Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Such a shame. He has been on fire this season & was probably going to go to Brazil. On a positive note that makes one less player to worry about during the transfer window. Get well soon Jay
m735 Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 So gutted for him, will still be my player of the season regardless.
Minsk Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Sad news, but not really surprised. Good luck for a full and speedy recovery Jay.
dan abnormal Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 To have a very real chance of playing in a world cup in Brazil ruled out via an injury must be devastating. Gutted for him
davefizzy14 Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Very upset for Jay, was destined to go to Brazil in his current form. Wish Jay a speedy recovery and he will as our medical department are top notch
shurlock Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Such an innocuous incident - going up unchallenged for a ball. What a tough break for the lad.
JoeShmoe Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Poor lad, just as his career was really taking off Hope he makes a full recovery and we see him back around October-November time all being well
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Really feel for him, but I know the club will rally around him and he will come back strong.
Toon Saint Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 A terrible shame, especially for something so innocuous as controlling the ball - let's hope the six months recovery period cited by the club is no longer. The timing is obviously awful for him with the WC. But the only thing I can take from this is that at least 4 of those 6 months will be spent recovering while this season fizzles out and pre-season for 2014/2015. Still, absolutely horrendous for the lad.
Saint_Tony Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Very bad news, could take a long time to get back to his best. Couldn't have come at a worse time, although he wouldn't have gone to the World Cup he was really starting to hit top form. Hope he has a full recovery and comes back stronger than ever
Saint Without a Halo Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Such a great unassuming player and couldn't have come at a worse time for him and his career! Best wishes for a speedy recovery Jay the saints leading scorer
smackalec Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Devastated for him, and for saints. Such an important player for us.
S-Clarke Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Very bad news, could take a long time to get back to his best. Couldn't have come at a worse time, although he wouldn't have gone to the World Cup he was really starting to hit top form. Hope he has a full recovery and comes back stronger than ever I don't know, I think he was really pushing for it. What's the alternative? Well****. And he's not scoring goals, again - no ****. I think he had a real chance and I'm devastated for him, the horrible thing with ACL injuries - unless they are treated very well - they do seem to hang around for the career, and continuous knee knocks seem to be the effect of that. Lets hope he gets the best of care, treatment and rehab. It's a long road back for him though.
Viking Warrior Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Totally gutted . To jay rod I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery
pap Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Gutted, but it looked a bad one as soon as it occurred. Get well soon, Jay.
nta786 Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 #GetWellSoonJay Gutted for him really, his reaction said it all Despite what some posters on here say, I genuinely felt he would've went to the WC. 15 goals from a wide position is great. Wish him all the best.
Crazy Diamond Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Really feel for him. He was looking better with each game and he may never have a better chance of going to a World Cup. I wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in action in October/November.
Sour Mash Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Gutted for the lad. He genuinely comes across as a decent bloke, worked very hard to improve his game; definitely one of the game's unfair outcomes this.
farawaysaint Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Sad sad day, hopefully he'll come back firing, you never know with an injury like that I have faith that he'll do it though, go J-Rod.
dronskisaint Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Really sad for him, in the form of his career but he's young and must be incredibly fit so he has time on his side. Also didn't try to walk on it and was immobilised instantly...looking for plus points isn't easy!
Dalek2003 Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Realistically we are looking at a December return. I think we should try and get Redmayne in from Norwich. We are going to have to 'splash the cash' this summer. Gutted for J Rod, but at least some of his recovery time is over the summer.
Sour Mash Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 I wonder what psychological effect this will have on our other world cup hopefuls going into our remaining games?
SNSUN Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Very sad for Jay. Had a cracking season too. I hope this wasn't his best chance to go to the World Cup. Get well soon a Jay. Silver lining? Ummm, perhaps that means we get to keep him for next season...
Webby Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Absolutely gutted for Jay. I actually think he would've made the squad, but we'll never know, even if Roy comes out and says it. The rest of the squad, and the other England hopefuls in particular, must be devastated for him. Just wish him all the best now for a speedy and full recovery.
Saint Charlie Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Such a shame for Jay first and foremost but also a huge blow for us at the start of next season. If we don't replace him it will cost us big time.
Secret Site Agent Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Poor bastard, i really feel for him. It's just not fair. Hell be 29 the next time around, still young enough for 1 world cup. All the best Jay Rod, get well soon mate.
Bearsy Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 I think we should try and get Redmayne in from Norwich. Redmayne is not fit to lace Rodrigaynes boots
benjii Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 I wonder what psychological effect this will have on our other world cup hopefuls going into our remaining games? Lambert and Lallana weren't exactly busting a gut in the second half on Sat IMO.
Huffton Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Absolutely distraught for the lad, how much bad luck is it possible to have? I wonder what psychological effect this will have on our other world cup hopefuls going into our remaining games? Hopefully a case of #winitforJay
Sour Mash Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Any good examples of recent recoveries from ACL injuries?
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Gutted, terrible news for the lad and the club as a whole. Get well soon Jay Rod. Does this give an opening for another youngster though? Josh Sims, Jake Sinclair or Omar Rowe maybe? Rowe's looked decent in the clips I've seen of him.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 **** news. Just gutted for such a nice lad.

Baird of the land Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Gutted for him. Really hope he can make a full and speedy recovery.
