Pure class from Morgan

It was a great bit of skill

Question on Morgan - Has he been as good as last season?

Would love him to start adding a few more goals to his game. Struck me at the weekend how good Yaya T is. So good defensively, but also scores 15-20 goals a season.

Only this season has he done that really.

What a top player he is - thought he was outstanding again at the weekend.

Great play, pity the rest of our players are so static at that time though, need to anticipate a bit more and be in motion.

Morgan wll be a great player in a team where there's more movement in front of him, team with wingers perhaps.

Why? Morgan was 1 v 2 (toure, fernandinho). Had he lost the ball -not inconceivable in that situation and the other players had bombed on, we would have been overloaded. We're not Arsenal ffs. As it was, the ball was fed out pretty quickly to Lambert in an advanced position.

Things are easy in hindsight.

But Lambert was static, he had space to advance perhaps 3 metres before he would have been offside, Lallana is just standing there watching the double sombrero. We lack pace going forward if JRod isn't providing it. It's how you beat teams like Citeh.

This season includes 6 penalties and 4 free kicks.

Thats why they pay him £350,000 a week or whatever it is. I actually thought he was poor on Saturday as did quite a few City fans I spoke to.

Last time I checked...penalties were still legitimate forms of goals...

I'm sure the free kicks were pretty much tap ins...

depends what you are comparing it with. He's third in the top scorer list ahead of Rodriguez and Aguero but Rodriguez doesn't get to take penalties and if he'd taken and scored all our penalties this season he'd be level.

Gerrard has scored 10 penalties this season. Imagine if Suarez had taken all of them.

then again, if you gave morgan all the penalties he'd have a maximum of 5 goals so far and if you gave them to Cork he'd probably still have 0.

Movement upfront to get behind and beyond teams have been lacking all season, lallana operates in the gap between the oppositions defence and midfield, as does Rickie in the main.

J rod is the man that gets in behind.

Yeah, he was poor. But he scored a penalty, so of course he's in Garth Crook's Team of the Week
