Why did it take so long Kat?

Think the financial situation was in such a mess when Kat took over, but why did she take so long.

Was there a clause in someway with Markus and Nicola that he would have total control in such circumstances?

Think there is much we will never know.

MLT has always said off record that there is stuff with Nicola we don't know about.

Would take anything MLT says about this with a pinch of salt, has a clear agenda.

TBF there was an agenda there, either way, cortese has got us this far and thankfully Kat has taken over before overindulgence caused us too much damage.

Onwards n upwards

Yeah this basically. I'm just glad the person with the money is in charge of the decisions now, for better or worse.

If you have a contrary view to the establishment you have an agenda according to many on here. He did not like Cortese, he thought him a bully (which he was), he spoke out (others remained silent because they were too afraid). He had no agenda other than tell it how he saw it.

Agenda ridden post.

The mention of financial problems is just a clever ruse to have the idiot journos believing that we will have to sell all our best players. It is gaining us massive media exposure, raising our profile in leaps and bounds. As it appears now, we have several players coveted by the top glory clubs and because of the simple laws of supply and demand, their value has rocketed. Clubs like the once glorious Manchester United wanting half our team reflects very well on us as it is implicit that half our team is better than theirs, and when we turn around and tell them that we don't need their money, we raise our profile still further.

It is a brilliant strategy and credit to the new board for coming up with it.

Are we really in that much of an awful financial situation ? I think it's pretty standard to pay for transfer fees over a few seasons, and the training ground was clearly going to be paid, not out of profit made.

Who says we are in an awful financial situation?

YES it is. They are outstanding debts, but not liabilities in the sense that we don't have the money to pay them.

Perhaps a few more journos ought to learn how to read a balance sheet, instead of which they go for the scandalous headlines.

It is clearly stated in the accounts summary that only 22 of the outstanding 27 million are payable in the 2014/15 season and that this season we've paid off the 22 million we owed for this season. No problems there for me, the rampant cost of the

training facilities does irk me somewhat.

hope you are right

my concern is Ralph's statement, "we need to meet our potential" so selling could be on agenda to maximise commercial opportunities

He didn't speak out though did he? He said "Nicola is a nasty man" and then refused to give any details at all to back that up. That's not being brave.

Afraid for their jobs. You cant' seriously be that thick?

What about the people who did leave the club, either being sacked or by their own volition? Why were no stories ever leaked - instead of stating them outright - to the press about incidents of "bullying"?

Why, in a company with hundreds of employees, did not a single one of them speak out whilst someone who by his own admission had been frozen out of the club made these claims?

plenty of stories was leak bro!

1) Toilet-gate - where cortese had his own private bathroom constructed with miniature porcelain throne

b) Spoon-gate - where cortese cancelled training + had the first team squad scouring st.mary's for his missing (stolen?) lucky tea spoon

IV) Fart-gate - where cortese killed a man for dropping guts in NC's private office

Not according to the other director ( whose name escapes me ) who clearly stated that no player Poch wants to keep will be sold.

You just can't tell from any statements that the club might or have made. Some players may want to leave, then it becomes very difficult to hold onto them. We'll just have to wait and see.

Sorry S Clarke - Always enjoy your posts, but Afraid, is exactly the right word....

Unless you get sacked and your Dads a top lawyer, who doesn't depend on or need a "Payoff" then "afraid" might be on the other foot

Think the financial situation was in such a mess when Kat took over, but why did she take so long.

There is no financial mess. The financials for 2012/13 show the Club to be in a healthy position financially with only a very small (approx 1m) net debt. Given that the financials are for the year end when we were promoted this is really a very good position. Plans are in place to pay off transfer fees over a number of years, consistent with how the industry operates, and we already have indication that we have paid what we were due to pay. The only small down side is that we did not maximise our commercial income, and that surprisingly that income is quite low, but with lots of room for improvement. The overspend on the training ground is a slight concern, but in the end the numbers are relatively small fry (15m overspend). In the event of some crisis, we have players valued at something around a £100m, which more than covers any long terms planned payments. The huge increase in broadcasting rights for this season shows that Cortese was investing in the future, and has not done anything particularly rash. In any case the Easte of Markus Liebherr would have been in the know of what was going on. So, no financial mess. Also you asked "why did it take so long" - you seem to forget that after ML passed away his estate was in probate for a long time before Katharina became the legal owner. I don't know exactly when she finally inherited but it would have been a considerable time after ML's passing, due to Swiss inheritance laws.

Sadly this post seems to indicate that the sensationalist, innacurate and ignorant press coverage lead by the BBC has been swallowed hook, line and sinker by some.

Saint_Clark I usually respect your posts but on this subject you are way off the mark. The answer is because he made them sign confidentiality clauses etc. Ask yourself why would MLT make all this up? The staff were absolutely terrified of him, I witnessed it with my own eyes.

Personally it still makes me shake my head in disbelief that so many so called fans insulted and shouted down the greatest player in this clubs history.

Oh stop being such a wet tart - surprized you managed to extract yourself from between Turk's buttcheeks long enough to post these days, but sadly your contributions have not improved... Noone was 'insulting' Matty boy, just asking the fricking question as to what his beef was... no good giving it the old 'nasty nic' nod and a wink and refusing to tell all... because what is there to be affraid of? If its true he cant be sued... so just how 'brave' was he? or was his beef just personal?

FF, seriously, as someone who has worked within the Union envronment for so many years, surely this is ******... I would suggest that legally, any CDA counts for feck all if its being used to 'cover up' serious allegations that breach employment law... bullying, constructive dismissals etc. I once signed a compromise agreement which stated my pay off was final and I do not tell anyone why i left.... my lawyer said it would never stand up, I could say what I liked provided it was the truth - anfd I did - you cant buy 'silence' - this is football, not some mafia Omerta.... Folks dont say anything when they leave, not because they are frightened of the place they are leaving, but because they dont want to prejudice their chances of getting a job within the industry at another club...

Everyone is too afraid, Cortese can sue anyone at any time and has most of the city of Southampton under an NDA.

I dont get it... see NC was just a short arsed dwarf so why is anyone affraid of him?... secondly, if its a legal thing, then we have been told by the wise that NC is so crap in taking legal action anyway, why be worried... he will lose against whoever he tries to sue (covers both the 'comedy moment' and the seriously)

It does seem strange, I'm sure all the stories will come out via the "if only you knew!" Brigade when Cortese is dead.

Yeah I believe it was. Hypo seems to get a bad rap round here and I never understand why, he's good people! I just wish MLT had the balls of hypo's sister and could trump in Cortese's face rather than quietly letting out sly squeakers from the safety of his sky sports studio.

Not easy though when your mortgage, family etc are settled in the Southampton area. NC ruled with a rod of iron and bullied to get what he wanted. I think as the months pass the stories will emerge just as they did when people did not want to believe the Burley is a drunk rumours.
