Smirking_Saint Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 It is normal to wait for any knee swelling to go down Hes probably had an initial MRI scan or something similar. Although an MRI scan is not necessarily needed especially as a lachman test would indicate straight away if it was the ACL It could be any of the ligaments, Posterial, medial, lateral or anterior ligaments that are torn or sprained , none of us no what is wrong Im letting the specialist determine what is wrong and I will wait to here the club annoucement I hope the injury is not to bad given the way he landed and twisted My Thoughts are with JRod and I hope he is back sooner rather than later Lachman test can be inconlusive with good Quad and hamstring strength and an MRI will only be a decent picture after the swelling has subsided. I expect they'll use a combination of the three (MRI, Lachman, opinion) and will probably go in with keyhole surgery with a view to correct whatever the issue is anyway. My gut feel is cruciate though
Viking Warrior Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 smirking. I would have gone into more detail re MRI . Lachman and Keyhole but trying to keep my post simple for our readers unless we start a new forum about cause, diagnosis and mangement of knee trauma and other like sports injuries VW

Hatch Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 They'll use the Nuffield in that case and then follow-up appointment at Solent. Although the students are away, that's not to say that the academic and other staff will be. no shi.t

Personally I can see the specialist givin' it a reete gud prod, and if he screams, we'll know it's a bad un.

scotty Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Doctors call it cyberchondria. Never google your symptoms. It's always cancer, and you're always going to die.
shirleysfc Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 some chap on Twitter saying not back until 2015/16 season Alpine, Bazza or Glasgow?
Charlie Wayman Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Never google your symptoms. It's always cancer, and you're always going to die. The second bit is always true, it's a matter of timing.
Window Cleaner Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 some chap on Twitter saying not back until 2015/16 season what in 18 months, that's not very likely now is it. At the latest it would be Septemberish.

Window Cleaner Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 That's Itchen Dan who posts on here a lot. Think he is talking in terms of performance levels not injury timescale. Don't try to defend him it's ******, made up to titilate his followers.
Dalek2003 Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Don't try to defend him it's ******, made up to titilate his followers. If it is WUM, he should get an infraction.
Window Cleaner Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 (edited) If it is WUM, he should get an infraction. Not really, it's not his fault that someone drags his crap off twitter and posts it here. People are stupid, don't think it's an offence yet. The idea that JRod wouldn't be fully operational again until at least August 2015 is idiotic, not well thought out but it's twitter which I understand is entirely populated by deltas, epsilons and 3 year olds. Smirking_Saint Posted 7 April, 2014 Posted 7 April, 2014 Don't try to defend him it's ******, made up to titilate his followers. Exactly and its crap anyway, Id expect perhaps a 6-9 month hit dependant on a few factors, he could be back to near his best in that period too. This isnt anyone, its a pro footballer who will have his entire daily regime tailored to getting back to fitness
