If this is happening, would you be able to just purchase the ticket for a tenner? Or can you purchase both and then not use the coach?

My thoughts exactly - was going to do this one anyway but don't really want to go on the bingo bus..

We’re heavily subsidising tickets and travel for the trip to @SwansOfficial on Saturday 3rd May – #SaintsFC’s final away game of 2013/14.

So, tickets for the trip to @SwansOfficial will be priced at £5 for adults and just £1 for Under-16s and Over-65s! #saintsfc

Strange gesture for a club that's in a "difficult" financial situation... ;)

Nice gesture but I was thinking of going to this, my first away game for a couple of years. I've got a couple of STs but what are the chances of any tickets being left after the initial offerings?

Unless you've been to a lot of away games, probably quite slim unfortunately. I've been to 6, and would like to go, but happy if those who have been to more buy up the tickets.

A brilliant offer. Should be a great day to end, let's be honest, a great season.

Absolutely this. Chuffed we have a home game to finish the season as well so we can show our appreciation to the players.

Allocation is 1,992 for this. First time I've seen an allocation in the public eye for ages!

Well done to the club, should be a great day out. Would love to go as not been to the Liberty before but suspect my chances of getting a ticket as a non-ST are nil.

Would rather have free away coaches for the supporters for all the away games

All a bit too late.

I wouldn't. Free coaches would mean our away support would be even more full of old people, families and blokes who have taken their girlfriends. The best option is to knock an even amount of money off the ticket price for every away game. Benefits everyone equally then.

This. However more than happy with what they have done, should be a great day.

And what's wrong with old people?

Nothing in particular, it's just in general, an away support filled with a higher percentage of an older people will be a quieter away support than one without.

You can make all the noise you like, most of us can't hear very well anyway.

have to disagree on two levels

First of all not all people who travel to games would be able to use coaches, many do not live in Southampton area

Secondly travelling by coach is the worse possible way to travel to away games, it's alright if all you are interested in is watching the match , but i if you want the full away day experience it's fa rbetter to either drive or go by train giving you the ability to see a bit of the town /city where you are playing plus stop off at places on route, which is something the organised coaches seldolm offer

All that moaning about us pocketing the grant whilst everyone else used there's. Saying it was used to upgrade coaches. That all seems very laughable now...

To be fair, I can't see how subsidising this singular game comes to £200k.

I don't remember anyone saying the money had been used to upgrade coaches (the only coach the club owns is the one the team travels on, which they bought last season IIRC).

The club freely admitted earlier in the season that at least part of the £200k away fund had been used to decorate the away concourse at St Mary's and to put on the family fun day at the Fulham home game.

Not really. You'll probably want to double check the responses from the club when people had a moan about it to them. Glad to see the club have changed tact.

Help needed! I am huge Swedish saint fan and have ended up in quite i situation due to the slashed ticket prices. Me and 3 friends booked flights to the Swansea game back in December after the Saints ticket office said that it shouldn´t be a problem to get tickets to the game. Now they are answering that season tickets it a must to be able to get tickets. It would be a real disappointment travel to Swansea not being able to watch the game. Anyone out there who could give us a helping hand? Would mean the world to us.
