Man United tickets

"TICKETS FOR THIS GAME WILL BE SOLD STRICTLY ON THE BASIS OF ONE TICKET PER QUALIFYING CUSTOMER NUMBER"

Well, that rules me out then as I always buy two tickets for me and my son on the one customer number. How many people buy two match day tickets together using two different customer numbers?

Bring Cortese back! ;)

I would have though if you contact the ticket office, it should be clear to them that you regulary get 2 tickets on customer number they may allow you to get 2 tickets

as there are nearly 2 weeks until tickets go on sale plenty of time for you to get this sorted out

Does that mean in addition to your season ticket or would season ticket holders qualify anyway? I am a bit concerned as I have been asked to get tickets for two people ( father and son and its the son's birthday). I have bought a number of extra tickets for more than four games but have put them all on my customer no rather than spread them around my teenagers season tickets

Presumably ST holders wishing to purchase for friends/family will just need a few customer numbers from other ST holders who don't require any extra tickets and can purchase in the first window.
That is not the way I am reading it, though saying that, that is the way it has been happening up to now, actually you could buy as many tickets as you like for home games against your ST.

That's an interesting situation as one would expect that your situation would be quite common. I assume your son doesn't have a customer number but maybe it would be good if you could either have a linked 'child' number or have your membership set up as a parent and child jobbie.

I wonder how much the general way of selling tickets is constrained but the booking software that they're using...

Similar boat, I usually get between three and six all on my customer number as we go up in a group and it would be bizarre to book all the tickets separately if you all want to sit together. Maybe they will clarify their position on this or somebody will chase up an answer I would imagine.

I've been saving my loyalty points to get one of those plastic hotdogs from the friendly catering staff next season.

I am hoping they will be like Green Shield stamps where you could save up for a Ford MKIII Cortina, except in the case of our points a nice Sunseeker boat.

You're right, spoken to TO and at the moment there are no plans for ST holders to purchase extra tickets period. Depending on volume of sales up to 17th April a decision will be made whether ST holders will be allowed to purchase any extras.

That's ludicrous.

I emailed the TO, as i go with my boy under 17, they have replied saying basically it still one per customer number, however it will be down to the discretion of whoever sells me the ticket if they wish to accept that my purchase history shows I have been buying 2 tickets etc. If not, unlucky for the boy! LOL

Hmmm, I emailed them earlier but haven't received a reply yet but guess the same answer will apply to me and my son. I'd better get my best sweet talking voice warmed up for when I ring to buy tickets then....

I always buy tickets on two customer numbers. Ones mine and ones me mates. We take turns to pay for games. He does the same of course. They are automatically set up on the online booking system. Seems logical to me makes it easy to book and covers eventualities like these. No good whingeing about it now.

A friend went to the TO yesterday and apparently the cup games are counting against your ST's so if you went to the Bristol City, Burnley and Yeovil matches and used your ST's to buy tickets then you will have 3 games against your customer number, therefore you may be lucky enough to be able to get an extra Man Utd ticket.

what that fans who go to the games are ranked higher than friends of season ticket holders?

The "friend of a season ticket holder" is a Saints fan who has been to several home games and 4 away this season but doesn't have a customer number as I always get his tickets.

Good for you, but my two under 11's sons can't buy for me.

I don't know if anyone can help but here goes.. My mum loves going to games but lives in Australia. She is in the UK when we play Utd and everyone I know at SMS is a ST holder, therefore no extras available. If anyone has a customer number with some home games on it and can't make Utd game could they please PM me? Happy to pay for the use of the number if that's what it takes, just can't see any other way to get the old dear in the stadium!

I'm a ST holder and same as above, most people I know at Saints have a season ticket themselves and can't help. Looking for a ST number for a mate who's done 10+ away games but doesn't get to home games. If anyone has a spare ST number and isn't going to United then let me know.

I always buy tickets for my non Saints supporting mate, as when he comes we try to get a specific seat so need to buy as early as possible.

He's been to loads of games but this system will rule him out.

But don't you have to have him linked to your account to be able to buy tickets for him? You can only normally buy 1 ticket per customer number so he must have a number?

You should check on the online system to see if his account is linked, it will also show you what his customer number is if he is..

anyone managed to get in yet?. been in queue for about 40mins online

1 hour and 40 minutes and counting....really poor service. Isn't the internet supposed to be the antidote to queuing?! If I drove down to Southampton from home and queued at the ticket office I would probably get a ticket more quickly!

Just got through online too. Purchased a ticket using my ST customer number, so that answers the question about whether ST holders with enough qualifying additional purchases can get extra tickets...

Yep, I managed to get one using my ST number as well. My extra 4 were Bristol City, Yeovil and Burnley at home in the cups and it's obviously included Pompey at home in the youth cup as well..

2 hours to get onto website only to discover some of my kids games were missing from my history even though I had used their numbers when purchasing tickets. Another hour on hold on the phone to confirm they were indeed eligible, booked but had to pay the extra phone booking fee :-( Bit of a fiasco but at least tickets booked.

Got through the online queue to find that I could only buy one for me and not my son (as expected), then phoned up and they were happy for me to get 2 tickets on the 1 customer number as they could see from the booking system history that I'd always bought our tickets together on the same customer number.

Good to see some discretion being used :)
