Maybe there's something to be read into here, probably not. Either way some interesting assumptions are made by this official England merchandise company.

Basically: Lallana, Jay and Rickie make the team but Shaw doesn't according to this.

Sorry if article posted elsewhere already.

ugh topps is shite, i will deffo be collecting the panini world cup stickers tho if anyone is interested in swaps send me pm

Apparently because the FA have done an exclusive licence deal with Topps, Panini can't use the FA logo on the England "shiny", so they just have the St George cross instead, and the players have been photoshopped onto generic white shirts rather than the full "portrait in kit" images. Good of the FA to **** it up for everyone :mcinnes:

They've been doing this for some time. I, er, know someone who completed the 2010 World Cup album and it was exactly the same for, erm, him.

You know this isn't the actual squad announcement right?

Whoever they put in people would complain.

Yes I do. It's a sticker / card collection... Just giving my opinion like you do on a forum.

Just thinking that Gibbs must be 4th choice at left back, Johnson probably first choice right back, and Cleverley about 25th best in his position (but still somehow in top 3 / 4 choices normally)...

I'm sorry!

I've done a few World Cup squads, and in none of them was Cleverley. Henderson and Barkley were picked over him. I, too, would be very surprised if he were chosen to go to Brazil.

If Adam, Jay and Rickie go, and Luke misses out, I'd still call that a massive success for Southampton Football Club, especially as this is only our second season in the top flight and all 3 of those players were lower league before that. It also shows how much talent there is in the lower leagues. While I doubt this is accurate (I still don't think Jay will be going, Welbeck (who I must be in the minority of rating) will be the first choice) it still shows that someone, somewhere has confidence in them.

As for Luke, he was selected in the last squad and Gibbs wasn't, which is telling IMO. His time will come. I still think Hodgson will take Cole as his back up.

Agree with most of this. Even Welbeck, who I have found myself warming too. Actually think he'd be a good fit for our system under Poch. That was a shocking miss last night though (probably further shows his suitability for Saints).

I think the England squad will looks as follows:

Hart

Foster or Ruddy

Forster

Johnson

Walker

Jagielka

Cahill

Jones

Smalling

Baines

Shaw or Cole

Gerrard

Wilshere

Carrick or Lampard

Sterling

Townsend

Oxlade Chamberlain

Lallana

Rooney

Sturridge

Lambert

Henderson or Milner

Welbeck or JRod

Others:

Cleverley

Defoe

Gibbs

Caulker

I'd expect the 30 man squad to include all the 'or''s in my first list plus Cleverley and Defoe. I would hope that Carrick, Shaw, JRod, Henderson would be the ones picked over Lampard, Cole, Welbeck and Milner but I can't see Welbeck not going. There's a slim chance of both JRod and Welbeck going but it would mean losing one of Oxlade Chamberlain (who can play a number of positions), Townsend (who is Roy's 'find') and Sterling (who really should be going on form, and talent ahead of both Welbeck and JRod).
