SammyJ Posted 31 March, 2014 Posted 31 March, 2014 Just bought tickets for the Everton game and noticed that kick off time is 1245 on the Saturday, however, website states that depending upon the results of the Manure/Chelsea European matches it will be moved to Sunday at 1405. Anyone know why that is and what determines if it will be on Sunday?
stevegrant Posted 31 March, 2014 Posted 31 March, 2014 I think that if Chelsea get through against PSG, their semi-final could be on the following Tuesday, so their game at Liverpool would be swapped with our game against Everton. If that happens, it'll be an amusing kick in the balls for Sky who have clearly scheduled Liverpool v Chelsea followed by Palace v Man City with a "Showdown Super Sunday" feel to it.
Lets B Avenue Posted 31 March, 2014 Posted 31 March, 2014 Chelsea are away to Liverpool on Sunday 27th at 2.05. However if they get past PSG their Semi-Final could be on the following Tuesday, so they will be allowed to switch the game with ours, back to the Saturday.
SammyJ Posted 31 March, 2014 Author Posted 31 March, 2014 Cheers guys for putting that straight. I'd say 50 50 for the Saturday kick off then!?
bender Posted 1 April, 2014 Posted 1 April, 2014 So in short, should Chelsea get through to the semi of the CL, our game needs to swap with the existing Sunday game to allow Chelsea to play on the Sat, not Sun.
Lets B Avenue Posted 1 April, 2014 Posted 1 April, 2014 So in short, should Chelsea get through to the semi of the CL, our game needs to swap with the existing Sunday game to allow Chelsea to play on the Sat, not Sun. Only if the 2nd leg is on Tuesday 29th.
John Boy Saint Posted 1 April, 2014 Posted 1 April, 2014 Now we are dancing to the tune of the top 4 and Sky/BT, sod the Toffees fans and sod the Saints fans but I guess when you are piling in obscene amounts of cash Football Clubs will dance to whatever tune is playing and as fans we are a pretty stubborn bunch due to our addiction to the game so we are the easy inconvenience.

Why would you be amused by Sky getting a 'kick in the balls'?
bender Posted 1 April, 2014 Posted 1 April, 2014 Only if the 2nd leg is on Tuesday 29th. I've just called the ticket office. Only if both ManUre and Chelsea get through is the date possibly moved. If Chelsea get through and Utd dont, Chelsea play on the following Wednesday not Tuesday. If they both get through, there's a 50/50 that Chelsea will still get the Wednesday fixture. But of course we're relying on ManUre to beat Bayern first. Safe to say our game v the toffees is on the Saturday.
Bearsy Posted 1 April, 2014 Posted 1 April, 2014 Why would you be amused by Sky getting a 'kick in the balls'? generally it is v.amusing to see anyone get kicked in the balls. Try it in ur personal life, next person you see, ur grandad or ur boss or whatever, give them a firm kick in the ole clackers. I guarantee that if you follow this method you will achieve satisfactory results.

Footballfan Posted 8 April, 2014 Posted 8 April, 2014 Will this game now be moved to the Sunday as Chelsea are in the semi final
Dr Who? Posted 8 April, 2014 Posted 8 April, 2014 This works better for me. Was this a 5:30 kick off on the Sat?
Matthew Le God Posted 8 April, 2014 Posted 8 April, 2014 Was this a 5:30 kick off on the Sat? No, 12:45.
nta786 Posted 8 April, 2014 Posted 8 April, 2014 Basically the above- it will only move if Manchester United win too.
Dr Who? Posted 8 April, 2014 Posted 8 April, 2014 I am hoping for the move as I can go on the Sunday. Call me selfish!
beatlesaint Posted 8 April, 2014 Posted 8 April, 2014 Basically the above- it will only move if Manchester United win too. No, United are already playing on the Saturday. Our game will be a straight swap with the Liverpool v Chelsea game to give them the extra day to prepare for Chamoions League.

But is it not the case that their game that weekend could then be moved to the Sunday, swapping with Liverpool v Chelsea, rather than it having any effect on our game?
beatlesaint Posted 8 April, 2014 Posted 8 April, 2014 But is it not the case that their game that weekend could then be moved to the Sunday, swapping with Liverpool v Chelsea, rather than it having any effect on our game? No BT Sport will simply swap their scheduled televised matches around, and that is our game and Chelsea's.
Sour Mash Posted 8 April, 2014 Posted 8 April, 2014 No BT Sport will simply swap their scheduled televised matches around, and that is our game and Chelsea's. Fair enough. Why does the Everton website article reference the Man Utd game? Is it just wrong?

shurlock Posted 9 April, 2014 Posted 9 April, 2014 Is anything planned for Bally given its so close to his anniversary and everton are involved?
Saint_clark Posted 10 April, 2014 Posted 10 April, 2014 So with United going out are we still playing on the saturday?
Hatch Posted 10 April, 2014 Posted 10 April, 2014 Doesn't it depend on the draw? and whether they play on the Tuesday or Wednesday
Whitey Grandad Posted 10 April, 2014 Posted 10 April, 2014 Doesn't it depend on the draw? and whether they play on the Tuesday or Wednesday Yes. The draw is tomorrow.
Saint_clark Posted 10 April, 2014 Posted 10 April, 2014 Doesn't it depend on the draw? and whether they play on the Tuesday or Wednesday Oh, brilliant. So now if it does end up being moved I can't go as I told work that I'm available. Totally wrong that they can leave it this late, if BT want to show the Chelsea game that badly then go ahead, just don't show ours.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 10 April, 2014 Posted 10 April, 2014 Saints have just announced on Twitter that they game WILL NOT be moved. KO is Saturday 26th of April - 12:45 start. Also live on BT Sport 1.
bender Posted 10 April, 2014 Posted 10 April, 2014 It's on the OS. Game deffo on the Saturday, http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/10042014-everton-game-scheduling-1480749.aspx

stevegrant Posted 11 April, 2014 Posted 11 April, 2014 Nope, the club confirmed yesterday that it'll remain on the Saturday.
