Tokyo-Saint Posted 2 April, 2014 Share Posted 2 April, 2014 Hart headed it out (as was the fashion for GKs back in the day) and then the small fat bald man in the background went on a mazy run that made Maradona's one looks like a hoof and hope. fanimal Posted 2 April, 2014 Share Posted 2 April, 2014 How on earth was SRL not discovered earlier, was it that he was just unfit, not confident, or did it really take him several years before he became such a good footballer and goalscorer?? ericofarabia Posted 3 April, 2014 Share Posted 3 April, 2014 any news on how many tickets we've sold? Be surprised if we break 1500. Hopefully they'll all be quality and create a great atmosphere. (is that possible with a stoopid o clock ko time though?) Can't see it being many with the sh1t kick off time, the cost, and the fact we've not a lot to play for. It's a free hit for us though. I'm sure we'll go up there to have a go, control possession and try and force a result. Poch hasn't lost to Man City yet...1 win and 1 draw...! Let's hope that's 2 wins come 3pm sat! studentsaint Posted 3 April, 2014 Share Posted 3 April, 2014 If wanyamas out that's a great shame, I feel the most powerful cms in the division him and toure. If he's back he's in for cork just for toure, otherwise Morgan for Jwp and j rod has to scare the life out of demechelis very very early.

Saint Rees Posted 3 April, 2014 Share Posted 3 April, 2014 As much as I'd love to have seen Yaya vs Victor this season, not worth risking a rusty VW (if he is fit) when JC has been brilliant and as Saint Garrett says - bossed him at St Mary's! WindsorSaint Posted 4 April, 2014 Share Posted 4 April, 2014 I know we know this, but I still like seeing it on the BBC site: The only English player to have scored more Premier League goals than Jay Rodriguez (15) this season is Daniel Sturridge (20). Only Luis Suarez (11) has more goal assists than Rickie Lambert (10) in the Premier League this season. WS

RobM Posted 4 April, 2014 Share Posted 4 April, 2014 Big Vic is rarely impressive on his first game back, he seems to need to get up-to-speed for a bit first. I'd play a similar team to last week but with Cork and Morgan in the middle.
david in sweden Posted 4 April, 2014 Share Posted 4 April, 2014 .........can't you just hear Pellegrini preparing his after match interviews ....(after we beat MC) .... well .....we did have Aguero out and NN was suspended...and we were unlucky with the penalty ....and their third goal certainly looked like it was off-side from my seat on the bench.... .....and don't let's forget those classic " bad day at the office " excuses. When is someone going to honestly stand up and say that when we win against good teams..it's because we were better. Yeah,Yeah Manuel...we've heard it before....from worse managers than you and especially in those clubs that don't have the £400 million squad that you have to choose from. Every Saints fan knows that on the day ..we're a match for anyone. Let's hope tomorrow we'll get the result we want and put all those lame excuses to bed and get real recognition. trousers Posted 4 April, 2014 Share Posted 4 April, 2014 I think the team pretty much picks itself this week.... Boruc Chambers - Fonte - Lovren - Shaw Cork - Schneiderlin Lallana - Davis - Rodriguez Lambert Subs: Gazza, Clyne (if fit enough for bench), Hooiveld, Wanyama, JWP, Ramirez, Gallagher
Matthew Le God Posted 4 April, 2014 Share Posted 4 April, 2014 Clyne (if fit enough for bench) Although Clyne is back in training, Pochettino ruled him out of the game. I'd guess that will see Guly on the bench instead.

jasonb Posted 4 April, 2014 Share Posted 4 April, 2014 Anyone know which pubs to drink in before the game tomorrow The northern saints are heading for the bulls head right outside Piccadilly train station. Easy for the metrolink or taxi or you could walk but it's half hour. Not much in way of pubs near the ground. Well none you'd really want to go in. dannysfc Posted 4 April, 2014 Share Posted 4 April, 2014 As much as I'd like Saints to pull it off and get at least a Point I can see it be something like 3-1/3-2 City as hopefully we can push them all the way so we'l see what happens as anything can happen in Football and especially with Saints as well.....!!! I'd go for the same team that Spanked Newcastle last Sat but maybe start Morgan in replace of JWP even though I also thought he had a Great game v Newcastle so we'l see what team MP goes for come 11:30AM-12PM! Fair play for those going to the game and will be in the Pub watching it too! COYR!!!
saintbob40 Posted 5 April, 2014 Share Posted 5 April, 2014 Wanyama is truly shocking on the ball. Without the ball he must be pretty scary to the opposition given his size and inability to time a tackle. More of a night club bouncer than a footballer. I guess it's a question of what you think constitutes a good footballer, but in my book the ability to find space, receive a ball and pass a ball are pretty high up the list.......especially in the current Saints team. Square peg in a round hole.
