Lambert second in prem at assists!

He is central to everything we do on his day. When things go well he is outstanding, when they don't he is peripheral but it's hard to determine a cause and effect. Considering he's been a bystander in a lot of games this season, 10 goals and 10 assists is a very good return.

Lambert also has 10 goals too :) and Bony, who many has said has been 'immense' for Swansea, only has one more! RVP also only has one more...

Let me put into perspective, Lambert has more league goals than NEGREDO, Welbeck, E'too and Adebayor.

Massive shout out to Lallana too, who has 9 goals- which is equal or more to the four out and out strikers mentioned above.

Lallana also has 6 assists, as does Steven Davis.

As for Jay Rod, what can I say, joint fourth top scorer and having a great season!

Please add Soldado and Torres to the list of players he has scored more than, and please consider they were bought for over £75 million combined.

Only when he scores do a lot of fans recognise what he brings to our team. I get tired of reading the morons who think he is finished or lazy or too old etc. He is the player who we will miss most when he leaves this team.

as for AL, I keep saying he needs to improve his shooting power, well today he answered that with a superb strike

Oh yeah :) esp Soldado! Lambert has scored two penalties I think this season (Hull and WBA), wonder how many of Soldado's were penalties.

He deserves to go to Brazil and I'll be more pleased for him than for any of the other three that could go because of what he represents. He had a great game today though I must say Newcastle gave him time on the ball which is the last thing you should do with Lambert.

A top notch player. Unlike most of the forwards mentioned above, Lambert plays with his head up. He has excellent awareness of where others are and always seems to see the right pass/run/shot. For once I agree with myself/Glasgow_Saint;). Saints legend. Going to Brazil and I couldn't be happier or more proud of a Saints player.

I still believe that Hodgson will take the safe route and pick players from the top 4 before RL or JRod. The last game will tell you as he played Ashley Cole who cant even make the first team at Chelsea. RL deserves to be there, the fans of other clubs relate to him and know pulling the England shirt means everything to him unlike a lot of the other big time charlies.

i do hope Im wrong but when you have goons from our own fanbase saying hes no good how can we expect Hodgson to select him

His developed, or changed his game, to become the perfect number 10.

Yep he's never going to get any quicker I'm afraid, but anyone can see that SRL is a intelligent footballer and he still has loads to offer this team. But the real reason why (on our day) our forwards can be so devastatingly effective is the innate understanding of each other's games the 'holy trinity' of Lambert, JRod and Lallana have developed over time.

We may, or may not, lose some good players this summer, and obviously the defence and midfield are important too. But as long as we keep these three together then we'll do well I think.

No players from Spurs, Everton or Man U then? Roy is certainly cutting down his options

You'll note that he gave Lambert, Rodriguez, Lallana and Shaw their first call-ups.

I don't think he'll take SaintsWeb opinion into account either.

he did so when he had little option due to his favourites being injured.

Once you take penalties out of the equation, a goal every other game until the end of this season would see him equal his total for the whole of last season. Premier League defenders are also targeting him more closely this year and I'm sure that's one of the reasons as to why Rodriguez has had the opportunity to overtake Lambert in the goal scoring stakes too. He's such an intelligent and unselfish player. He really does deserve to be in the squad for Brazil. He has always stepped up to every challenge set to him since he has been at Saints.

Was anybody injured in the last squad? Walcott, Carroll? Our players have all been there consistently since their first call-ups. Walcott's out of the World Cup and Carroll had to start scoring two games ago to be in with a shout.

The England coaches take our players very, very seriously now. Hodgson will be looking for reasons to take Rodriguez and Shaw. Lallana and Lambert are already there.

You know when England take your players seriosuly when the England manager or his asssistanst are watching most/all of your games.

Lambert for me reminds me of Sherringham and can play that role for England. He is the perfect number 10.

I see Fat Sam is Pushing Carol for the England front man position again after he scored against Blunderland last night,

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/2/9243119/unique-carroll-an-england-option

He would be unique in offering very little in goals very little in movement little or no assist's

Is six games enough to get match fit probably not especially if he gets another kick in the knee
