It was clear that there would be an additional appointment to the board, I had hoped it would have been John Williams. Ultimately Gareth's success can only be measured over a longer period of time.

If I remember correctly, when he got the interim position the general feeling was that he didn't have the necessary qualifications for such a position. Clearly he's made a positive impact though so hopefully it turns out to be a positive move in the long run.

Does anybody know if Ralph Krueger is an executive Chairman (ie full time) or a non executive one (eg 1 day per week)? That would make a big difference to how much influence Rogers has.

So then never ending unanswered question, why did he resign before ? Presuming that the information that we received that he was working out his notice until 31st January and his leaving gift was already acquired was correct of course. That's one of the problems of this forum, people are always eager to give out snippets of information but never willing to back them up with reasons or explanations.

Sounds like the cheap option to me? Could be a bit of the blind leading the blind so to speak?

How do you come to that conclusion?

Must be wondering how he ended up as a CEO of the club in the biggest league in the world? From an accountant heading towards the exit to a CEO in 1 week.

By calculating what response would attract the most bites ;)

Let's pretend that's not the answer for a mo... I was hoping for an actual explanation. Give the guy a chance etc, etc...

At least he has a red tie. I always judge a character on the colour of his tie and his ability to keep track of his spoons.

And CL aspirations. As long as he says he wants CL thats good enough for me.

Yes, it reminds me of Woopert Woe appointing Stuart Gray.........

To be fair it's not the same thing really. A first team manager/coach has a direct effect on the team, a CEO doesn't really, especially when it's pretty clear that he's the number 2 anyway.

He's the number 2 (or three really behind KL) in a medium sized 200 employee provincial business. Not sure who people expect to appoint

I think many wanted that John Williams bloke, not me personally because I know nothing about him. However being a "Saints Fan" seems to make one desirable for any position no matter what other capacities one might or might not have. Perhaps Mr Williams didn't want to be number 2 3 or 4, in charge of the rubber stamp.

Exactly. Assume he must be reasonably competent at what he needs to cover, the people that matter have had a chance to take a look at him.

Right place at the right time... Difference he did it effortlessness where as Glasgow saint waits desperately every Saturday to start the next post match thread before it is actually post match :mcinnes:

Well!!Who would have thought it, that this thread attracted the "snipe and anything" duo...

Now, now... They're just adding much needed balance to a thread that could have got far too positive far too quickly...

Wonder when we will hear anything of any substance from Gareth? Silent during his stint in role to date.

He's a professional beancounter - am sure he's there to keep an eye on the detail. The big picture and outward-facing stuff will be dealt with by RK I imagine.

Ralph sounds like Nigel who sounds like anyone who ever read a book on leadership.

Could have just stayed as CFO then?

It's not like you to put a negative spin on things GS!

I prefer a CEO that is quiet. Better than an egomaniac who loves being on telly or in the papers.

If Osvaldo is sold Saints already have a transfer fee agreed in the loan to Juventus and Ramirez is a useful first team player.

If Juve pick up the option, and we dont have to find another club. Looking at his track-record so far, I find that unlikely.

Your comment about Gashy is just funny.

Just because it differs from your opinion, doesn't make it any less valid. I think he has improved a lot this season. He's far from the consistent performer I'm not writing him off.

So useful he's started...lets see...how many times ?

I havent written off my chances of knobbing the big-boobed red-head from Mad Men, but its not likely....
