Saints4Prem Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/703345984?-11205:798 We have upset the Referees Association?
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 Lovren will be sent off for a bad tackle by Fonte.
SNSUN Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 [sOUNDCLOUD][/sOUNDCLOUD]Or it's that our game means little in the grand scheme of the Premier League season... Fwiw we're usually screwed whichever ref we get. :-)
shurlock Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 On the bright side - I dont think either Clyne or Wanyama will be starting.
farawaysaint Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 On the bright side - I dont think either Clyne or Wanyama will be starting. If he confused Clyne with Wanyama I think we could be rightly aggreived considering one is a midget and the other is an outhouse.
Toomer Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 Where is Mariner this weekend.................... St Marys Southampton V Newcastle.
VectisSaint Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 Lovren will be sent off for a bad tackle by Fonte. More likely the other way round after Sunday. At least he won't mistake Pardew for Poch.
shurlock Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 If he confused Clyne with Wanyama I think we could be rightly aggreived considering one is a midget and the other is an outhouse. He's going to have an absolute field day with the Newcastle side aka France's Outremer 11.
Secret Site Agent Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 He'll probably make sure he doesn't make the same mistake and takes a quick look at their names instead on the back of their shirts. And will then accidently send off Jay Rodriguez instead of Gaston Ramirez.
Tamesaint Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 Should we sing "we always get s hit refs" before the kick off?
Whitey Grandad Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 That's why the payers have numbers on their backs. The rules were changed a few years ago to include numbers on the front of the shorts to avoid having to make the players turn round so you could see who they were.
Leicestersaint Posted 24 March, 2014 Posted 24 March, 2014 IMHO Marriner is a dreadful referee - he gets so many decisions wrong, even throw ins!
rooney Posted 25 March, 2014 Posted 25 March, 2014 I must say that I do not rate Mariner at all in the games I have seen him. I hope there is no controversy with a decision that will cost us all three points.
Hatch Posted 25 March, 2014 Posted 25 March, 2014 of course, bad decision only ever go against us, never the other team.
Lets B Avenue Posted 25 March, 2014 Posted 25 March, 2014 He's reffed us 3 times this season. West Ham (h) 0-0. Fulham (h) 2-0. Cardiff (a) 3-0. Nothing can possibly go wrong!
alpine_saint Posted 25 March, 2014 Posted 25 March, 2014 You couldnt make this up... We really have made enemies at the PGMOL with the Clattenburg issue.
farawaysaint Posted 25 March, 2014 Posted 25 March, 2014 You couldnt make this up... We really have made enemies at the PGMOL with the Clattenburg issue. Nah, we are a blip to the Fergie's, Wengers, Mourinho's and Pardews of the world when it comes to moaning at refs I honestly don't think they care.
Window Cleaner Posted 25 March, 2014 Posted 25 March, 2014 You couldnt make this up... We really have made enemies at the PGMOL with the Clattenburg issue. Can't see what you're moaning about, we've not lost any game Mariner has reffed for us this season. 3 games, 7 points. Last Saturday wasn't his fault, lino saw the handball and obviously incorrectly identified the player. No skin off our nose who he sends off for the Arse, they were 2-0 down, it was a penalty so it was 3-0 anyway. They wouldn't have done much better at 11 than they did with 10.

Au contraire, they dont dare push back against the big boys; us, they feel like they can show who's boss....

You dont see an issue with putting a ref who has been publicly humiliated, whose confidence will be shot, who is going to come out of his changing room like billy big-b*ll*cks in order to recover his authority, to ref a vital 6-pointer for us ?

Not at all, it's just a ref. Publicly humiliated, everyone can see that it was the lino who c*cked up anyway. Linos cock up every week and frankly some of those mistakes are far more decisive than who gets sent off for a team who were going 3-0 down anyway. Sending off Gibbs didn't change the end result in any shape or form apart from the number of goals they lost by.
PokingFun Posted 25 March, 2014 Posted 25 March, 2014 Football has become so precious these days. A guy makes a genuine mistake in his work and gets utterly villified for it by armchair fans and TV pundits alike when a simple TV replay would have enabled the officials to make the correct decision and avoid all the nonsense spouted since. Of course, fans and pundits never make mistakes in their work so cannot possibly give the benefit of the doubt in these instances. All the talk of not wanting the guy refereeing our game and / or getting a 'suspension' from the game itself are quite laughable. It seems that on here there is never a referee good enough for Saints as they are all clearly against us ......
Whitey Grandad Posted 25 March, 2014 Posted 25 March, 2014 Everybody seems to be concentrating on the mistaken identity when the more important issue is that it shouldn't have been a red card. So it was a mistake, it happens.
paulwantsapint Posted 25 March, 2014 Posted 25 March, 2014 Just as well Boruc wears a different coloured shirt to outfield players otherwise could see him being sent off for handball in the box
