Saint_John Posted 24 March, 2014 Share Posted 24 March, 2014 If anyone has seen MOTD2 last night I have made a complaint against the bias comments made by Peter Schmeichel. My complaint relates to him acting as an Agent for Mid-Table United and telling people that Adam should join United. My complaint (Case number CAS-2628776-6YYSGG) :-I would like to complain about the comments by Peter Schmeichel on MOTD2 re Adam Lallana. My understanding of a pundit on MOTD/2 is to be neutral and NOT ACT AS AN AGENT for "Mid-Table United" in the Transfer market. He mentioned at least 3 times that Adam who is HAPPY living on the edge of the New Forest should move to HIS TEAM. These comments are totally unacceptable imo and I hope that MOTD/2 issue an apology for them and remove him from their list of pundits. If anyone else would also like to complain go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/complain-online/ . I also hope the Club also complain about these comments perhaps this will be the first real test for Ralph over Nicola (who imo who have taken action over them). Shroppie Posted 24 March, 2014 Share Posted 24 March, 2014 I agree he was disgraceful and the coverage and analysis was awful. The analysis consisted of saying: Spurs defended poorly in the first half (true, but we played well) Lallana is good and should be playing for a "big" club. "Man U should sign him" No question of whether he might want to stay. Lallana is not good enough to start for England - he just offers something different. Lovren was weak for the first two goals. No replays showing he was fouled on each occasion despite MP making that point in the interview.
Bearsy Posted 24 March, 2014 Share Posted 24 March, 2014 Oh i dunno it's quite normal to suggest quality players might move to bigger club. Most often it's not even wrong cos it usually ends up happening, sooner or later. That said PS is a worthless pundit! I would of thought it would be easier to pin him with accusations of fuckwittery, than bias.

Lazlo78 Posted 24 March, 2014 Share Posted 24 March, 2014 Perhaps not the most apt thread, but I'll ask in here anyway: how does MOTD, MOTD 2 and Football League Show work on BBC iPlayer? I go to "Sports" --> "Football" but I rarely find all the shows. Right now I can find The Football League Show from 23/3 and MOTD 2 Extra from 23/3. I can't find neither MOTD nor MOTD 2 from the weekend - including our game. Is it supposed to be there or how does it work?

Just found it myself now in their FAQ: "Is Match of the Day available on the BBC iPlayer? Yes. From the start of the 2013-14 season, both Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2 will be available for live streaming on the BBC iPlayer. Under the terms of our contract with the Premier League, both shows will be made available from midnight on Monday (early hours of Tuesday morning)." So I just need a little more patience... SaintNeil90 Posted 24 March, 2014 Share Posted 24 March, 2014 Mine... I would like to complain about the comments made by Peter Schmeichel on Match of the Day 2 last night. He made comments about Adam Lallana, saying the best players should be at the best clubs and then said his old club Manchester United United should sign him. I am lead to believe that the BBC and its sports pundits should act in a neutral manner without bias to one team. I see these comments as an insult to Southampton and feel that with Schemeichel being a former Manchester United player, that these comments are biast and represent a complete disrespect for Lallana & his club, Southampton. the saint in winchester Posted 24 March, 2014 Share Posted 24 March, 2014 Lineker said his twitter would be hot with anger from Saints fans. It should be. His attitude was that the best players should play for the best clubs and that Lallana had met the qualifying standard for 'a top club'. If a serving manager had made those comments it would be deemed as 'tapping up'. Yes, he praised Lallana but not Saints.
the saint in winchester Posted 24 March, 2014 Share Posted 24 March, 2014 Well that's fairly embarrassing isn't it. MU wouldn't work for Lallana anyway. They have Mata are struggle to fit him in, Rooney wants to do everything so often there's barely room for RVP. Where would Lallana go? No doubt he's good enough for CL now, but where? Chelsea? They only have Oscar, Lallana can play right too. Unlikely but possible. Arsenal, he would link well with Walcott and Chamberlain but they have Ozil and Cazorla. He's as good IMO but they can't play them all. Liverpool? Makes more sense, he's been better than Coutinho and they don't have many other good options in that position, and will need more for CL games. Could argue City could use him. Nasri and Silva are there but won't play all the time, Adam offers something a bit different but I imagine he'd worry about being sub. I'd hate all those options. He's a saints legend already and I want to keep supporting him wherever. If ever a player was technically suited to playing in Spain it's him, and it's a shame more don't try it abroad. Maybe Poch will take him when he gets the Barca job ;-) Good to know I'm not the only one who sees that. Fed up of Rooney being an autmotatic choice for England and others having to adapt their game to play to and around him.
Turkish Posted 24 March, 2014 Share Posted 24 March, 2014 Absolutely. I don't doubt his talent (that said, he's in the very good category, not top top player), but his attitude is appalling. Classic case of a team being better overall by dropping a talented player. Will he grow up? I can't see it. He'll probably be England and MU captain next season, yet he doesn't encourage young players, doesn't seem to be a positive word. He hogs the ball, doesn't trust anyway (even very good players) and gets extremely wound up. Rather than taking responsibility for poor displays he'll have a go at fans or blame anyone else. He cares enough about MU to insist he'll leave every time he wants more money. Fine it's up to them to pay but let's not pretend he loves Man Utd and their fans singing anti-scouse songs every 5 minutes. He is 100% about himself. Watching Suarez is interesting, as while he's unlikable as a person, he's a great creator of goals. He wants to score and does score a lot, but he always looks for a pass too, is happy to set others up. He seems to have taught Sturridge the same and it helps them both, giving the chance to the player best placed to score. Got so frustrated in those recent England defeats watching Rooney hold onto the ball too long, lose possession over and over, ignore the man in space. Honestly can't see England doing much while he's around but who would have the balls to stand up to him? Would be fascinated to know other England players true views on him, but we won't get that for a decade in autobiographies will we. If you're going to be that much of a ****, you'd better be an ibrahimovic or Ronaldo in quality. He isn't. Did he score at the weekend by the way? I'd like to see the BBC's laundry bill this week.
