norwaysaint Posted 23 March, 2014 Share Posted 23 March, 2014 When Hodgson picked JRod for England, it caught nearly all of us by surprise. It was off the back of a season where he didn't score many and there had been no clamour, even from saints fans, to call him up. Now it looks like he stands a very good chance indeed of being on the plane as second highest English player in the prem. He saw it pretty early, so fair play to him. Who is the highest England player? Kyle Walker was linked with drugs a while back, wasn't he?

Saint_clark Posted 23 March, 2014 Share Posted 23 March, 2014 He was picked just over a quarter of the way through the season, wasn't he? After he'd had a good start?

DuncanRG Posted 23 March, 2014 Share Posted 23 March, 2014 Agreed. Both Hodgson and Pochettino have done wonders for his confidence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saint_Tony Posted 23 March, 2014 Share Posted 23 March, 2014 You have to admire the way he has performed since his England debut, which was disappointing even by his own admission. I still don't think he'll be on the plane but I can see him scoring another 4/5 goals this season. That would make him difficult for Roy to ignore
Smirking_Saint Posted 23 March, 2014 Share Posted 23 March, 2014 Not England ready yet, Welbecks a better option as he can play wide AND can lead the line aswell. J Rod cant yet I dont think. I reckon he will be a regular by the Euros though
david in sweden Posted 23 March, 2014 Share Posted 23 March, 2014 He is definitely a confidence player, and seems to think he's not quite good enough but he's a real trier. Ralph K. should convince him of how good he can become and hope we can see more positivity in off the pitch interviews, because he convinces me he can do it on the field. I reckon he will be a regular by the Euros though Wellbeck - really? He's looked out of his depth playing for England a lot of the times he's played - not saying that Jay is necessarily the answer but think he must have at least as good a shout as Welbeck if he carries on scoring. I think so, always thought he looks pretty good for England TBH, gets an unfair rap does DW
