As this week has already seen countless rumours, and the summer window draws closer, it is time to re-evaluate who is an ITK amongst the SWF population.

 

As we know, there are numerous ratings of newspaper stories looking at the proportion of transfer stories which actually come to fruition – allowing readers to decide which publications they would prefer to believe.

 

Now the time has come for the ITKs of SWF to stand up and be counted.

 

From today – I will be monitoring the “snippets” which are posted on the Forum and providing official ITK percentage scores to each poster, in the hope of finding the true ITK by the end of the transfer window, September 2014.

 

I did a similar exercise privately during the January window to test the feasibility of running the search for the true ITK, and can now announce the results. These are based on the percentage of ITK statements which turned out to be true by the close of the window.

 

January ITK Ranking

 

mehball - 100%

 

K-Billy – 80%

 

Guan – 80%

 

Monk – 75%

 

Sanjay Sanchez – 40%

 

Fitzhugh Fella – 12%

 

View From The Top – 0%

 

Matthew Le Tissier – 0%

 

Glasgow Saint – 0%

 

MLG – 0%

 

All current scores have been reset, so there is an opportunity for some of the 0% ers to recover, and also for others to join in.

 

What qualifies as ITK?

 

An ITK comment must be made prior to it appearing on any published source and must have a degree of certainty in what you say. You do not have to name your source when questioned by other posters.

 

What do I have to do?

 

If you are a “lesser known” poster (below 500 posts) who wishes to challenge for the ITK crown then please make yourself known on this thread so I can track your posts. Otherwise just keep proving to everyone how ITK you are and watchout for the bi-weekly rankings to be published via this thread.

I've only ever claimed to be "ITK" twice, and I was right on both occasions when I said Jack Stephens and Sam Gallagher would be signing from Plymouth long before they actually did or it making any newspaper.

So my ITK success rate is 100%.

True - certainly with Gallagher I remember.

 

I included you in the January one for ITK comments alluding to the development of St Mary's which hadn't been confirmed by the end of the month. However, I will recheck my data and if they weren't made within January then I will remove you from the list.

 

Good luck going forward though, hopefully we sign a couple more from Plymouth that you find out about!

The VMan and Monk are about the only ITKs on this forum these days other than Fitzhugh. VMan not even mentioned.

 

Incorrect. mehball, Billy and Guan had top records in Jan. Plus also last summer.

 

VMAN is obviously a contender but didnt show it in January re transfers - not that there was much speculation to comment on. He will clearly be a contender over the summer.

 

Fitzhugh with work to do IMO.

How will you measure it? There's no way to verify a claim unless it's 'this player will sign' or 'this player won't sign'

 

For example, in January the vman said we have several targets. I believed him, but we'll never know whether or not we did.

I cant believe that weston Saint hasn't been included,..... he knows every one (Well Lallana's dad, morph the old poster and where the missing plane is)

I broke the Wanyama story in the 'wanyama has signed this is not a drill' thread. However I chunked the bunk early with the story on the Brazilian guy who I had heard had we had agreed terms with but in the end didn't fancy us. 50% hit rate at least.

Problem here is that a good 90% of the proper itk stuff isn't written in such a way that is obvious. Names of people aren't given (even though the poster has that info), details are kept vague but hinted at in roundabout ways. You have to understand certain posters to find the real itk stuff on here.

I guess you are not counting my wanyama signs this is not a drill, 5 hours before the main board with photo and everything? This was the mods biggest ever cover up at TMS had a itk scoop. St charlet with ITK blood on his hands.

Only once or twice being close to being ITK

I knew about David hirst a good week or so before he joined us and one other player . But that came from the late patch

RIP Patch and sprinkle some much good luck and successful dust on SMS Patch
