Transfers (rumours) thread

Can't say I'm too enthralled by Guidett's injury record. He had a severe illness (which affected all the nerves in his legs) and he's never really been the same since.

A loan would be OK, wouldn't be parting with £6m big ones for him though.

Nastasic would be good, guidetti certainly had a great season outside of England, not convinved though

Guidetti was brilliant under Koeman at Feyenoord, perhaps even better then Pelle. Feyenoord were more or less a one-man team the season he played there. I vividly remember him singlehandedly winning Feyenoord - Ajax that season (and hating every minute of it). Would be a good aquisition in my opinion and after not playing that much the past two seasons he should come rather cheap?

Depends. If its fully cleared up he could be a total bargain. If he has lingering effects he may never be as good again.

Nastasic & Guidetti anyone?

I don't think there's any chance we'd get Nastasic. He was out through injury for most of last year but Pelligrini must be planning to use him. With Lescott gone, Demichelis getting old and no defensive signings on the horizon for them they won't be letting him go. And if they did, it would probably be to a bigger/richer club than us.

Even if I'm a Swede I say stay away from Guedetti. The illness he had have made him lose his "momentum"he had at Feyenord and he's been rather bad since coming back again. Been selected for Sweden a few times since coming back from illness but hasn't really made an impact. Also a bit of a trouble maker and his attitude is not always the best.

Yes, Adam scored some good goals but he's never had a particular hard or powerful shot. They've clearly worked & coached on this point but he still has an inherently weak shot. He's certainly not irreplaceable & his stamina not ideal. I am also aware of his strengths & creativity but I think he has peaked with a team built around him & I truly don't think he'll set the world alight or have the same complimentary elements which Saints lent to the disingenuous fool.

As for trolls, lots of it but that comment was so ridiculous, I had to post some riposte.

Back on topic, I hope we sign one of Marshall (who was outstanding last season) or Forster & acquire Vlaar. We have the money, just get him in. Time is precious. I think RoKo will favour some width & pace in either the fullback (left) or midfield roles. Do people, perhaps Dutch fans, know if Tadic played out wide or centrally & which position suited him better?

My source tells me that Lovren will hold talks with Liverpool on Tuesday / Wednesday. Two options, upfront fee + add ons or cash plus a player (Martin Kelly). Morgan is not happy and will be gone by the time the season starts. Koeman & the board really struggling to get transfers nailed down. Two targets have gone to rival clubs, (I'll get names. Think one is Janmaat), says that we were miles off with wages & that there's a general feeling we're a risky option. One agent said that players want to see a statement of intent and all he sees is a club that's still selling its best players and not bringing in the sort of players that will enable us to compete. General vibe is that we're stuck in a vicious circle. The more we sell the harder it is to attract.

Definitely after a foreign striker but won't happen until Osvaldo situation is resolved. He's causing real problems behind the scenes.

We wouldnt have wanted Janmaat and wouldnt want Kelly seeing as right back is the strongest position in the squad.

Clyne and Chambers both need to be worked into the starting team as it is otherwise one of them won't stick around so bringing in another one would be stupid.

Oh dear. Sounds very plausible and it's why many were frustrated that we didn't do any business before we sold people. Pretty depressing.

Yes, but Chambers is going to Arsenal and Clyne will play at LB next season. ;-)

Nothing from Koeman on incomings then apart from this:

Koeman: "We're still working on bringing players in. We'll see how things go in the coming weeks." #SaintsFC

Sounds confident...no way we will cover all the gaps and replace outgoings. Nor reinvest all the sales money.

I really don't get the obsession with having to spend all the money we have received from sales.

How does this sound plausible. Us being after Janmaat is just ridicilous. He's a rigthback and without him we already have a luxury problem for that position.

Because it was promised that 'the money' (which I assume means most of the money) would be reinvested in the team. I don't think anyone will mind whether we match it exactly, but to raise £80m+ and spend, say, £40m, would be very disappointing. I expect it will be more than that, but then we might raise closer to £100m if Morgan goes.

Quite. Or, on the other hand, bu115h1t! And what an insult to the 2 highly rated players we've bought in!

Everyone knows agents are full of it. They're just saying whatever they need to to get deals through so they can have their commission ffs!

Is it immediately not plausible as its negative ? Like Lovrens 'lack of ambition' statement ?

Exactly. No idea if it's right or not but picking up on one detail and then extrapolating that out to say the whole thing is nonsense just because they don't like it is silly.

Yep, we need to know our place.

Shows how far weve come that only Spurs, Arsenal, Man C/U, Liverpool & Chelsea are now able to snatch our best players.

Wasnt long ago that Newcastle were sniffing around our players and Wolves were bidding for Lallana. Even Norwich were able to outbid us for players.

You have to look at the positives

Im taking it with a pinch of salt, the same way I deal with Guans info, its all very interesting of course.

Regardless of outgoings (im not getting into that again) I imagine its not easy selling brand southampton right now

Most players signing for us won't give a sh it about brand Southampton.

Not being in Sunderland, and being quite close to London will give us an advantage from the get go.

Its not plausible since part of it us supposedly trying to sign a third quality rightback....

The rest I can't judge but I'm not really counting on that being close to the truth.

Jeez that update seems bleak, hoping some can confirm Sidney is full of ****

Can't see why he would post ******** just for the sake of it, but it takes all sorts I guess?

It would be nice to see a response or comment from the known ITK's...
