Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but daily mail is reporting that we are interested in acquiring Costa Rican Joel Campbell on loan from arsenal.

That would be a result, I'd like to see two permanent forwards come in, but Campbell on loan until Rodriguez is fit could really help us out.

He's more of a winger rather but a pretty decent player.

That would make a lot of sense if he's to step in for JRod until he's fit. Good player and one would fit our system too.

Would make a change from improving our players for the big clubs. We could just improve other clubs players directly for them as long as they pay us a reasonable fee for doing so.

... If you want someone with pedigree to compete with Targett, rather than Robertson who's only a bit older, then he's your man. Robertson sounds like a star for the future, though.

Their local paper now suggesting he'll be sold if anyone offers £3m. (Be good to buy Shaw's replacement for 10% of the fee received).

Robertson looks absolute quality from what I have seen of him. It would be great to have two promising youngsters slugging it out for a starting berth at LB, much like we do at RB.

£2-3m is a steal, get it done Les!

Do like the look of him, hard to judge in Scotland though, wonder if a.) he is much better than Targett and b.) if either are good enough right now to play every week in the PL.

Hard to know on both counts.

Going by the yellow taxi in one of the photos and a couple of the shops I would have said that was in Bournemouth and not Southampton.

That sounds plausible as both life in the Bournemouth area.

Didn't Guan indicate it wasn't Robertson?

Yeah, but I dread to think who else he could have been talking about.

Charlie Mulgrew?

Lee Wallace?

Barry Douglas? (Played for Lech Poznan last season)

The return of Danny Fox?

He said it wasn't 'necessarily' Robertson, which I took to mean that he has been informed that we are in for a Scottish LB but hasn't been told the name.

Don't think that's Southampton. Gazza lives in Boscombe. Redknapp is a c**k.

I don't think there are yellow taxis in Southampton

Tadić and Pellè this week, Koeman speaking to the press, people will be feeling a lot more positive next Sunday. #SaintsFC

Saint_armstrong. Has a fair few links in the media though tbf, always speaks a fair game.

Dont know about the links to media..... Never any real news, just rehashing what´s said on twitter and written in media.

No offence, Saint-Armstrong.

It's a great twitter for a lazy man, he seems to put a lot of time into searching round the internet for news and then posts it all in one place for everyone to see.

At least Saint-Armstrong always posts where he gets news from rather than pretending he's found it himself unlike Alex Crook.

Definitely and I´m not slating him at all.

Just saying that his tweet about "Pelle and Tadic in a week and everyone will be happy etc" (not correctly quoted but basically that) dont mean anything for the case and should not be seen as itk info...

Yeah, I get you - that bit is just him hoping rather than fact.

I second this. He has a few decent sources & is always up front about where he gets info.

One of the first places I look is on his time line.

Indeed. Connor's a great aggregator. I've no idea whether he has any sources.

Pretty obvious why Hernandez don't wanna join us, anyone thinking anything else might need a reality check.

And those reasons is the same why players like Lukaku, Micah Richards etc won't join us either.

I think we could have a good chance for players that need to start over with their careers like Rodwell, Sinclair...

Our choice now is either players from teams below us in the league (like we are stripped our best players from teams above us we could get the best players from teams below us). But at the moment even that could be hard cause that would mean inflated prices and atm we might not look as a good prospect for those players either considering what´s out in the papers. Players from the championship would be interested, but are they really good enough.....very few imo...

Then we´re left with looking for young upcoming players from leagues below PL, like the leagues in Holland, France, Belgium, Portugal and find those players that want to make a move up to a tougher league. Even if that means that they see us as a stepping stone so be it, we can get good money for those again then...

A huge pity, Hernandez would have been a brilliant statement of intent.
Would he really? How many League starts has he had as a 26 yer old? Quite pleased we haven't got him.

Big step down from Utd to Southampton. All of one PL place and a few points. Don't need or want a journeyman like that little plank here anyway.

its far more than that, isnt it

Not particularly disappointed about Hernandez thing as i feel he's a player who has gone backwards badly. It does highlight a worrying trend about trying to bring in players of sufficient quality given the exodus that is occurring and the effect on attraction of saints imo.

What trend has it highlighted?
